What did you think of The Gathering ?

What did you think of The Gathering?

Poll – Now that the ninth episode of Torchwood Miracle Day – The Gathering has aired in various counties, what did you think? Does Torchwood just get better and better or was it not as good as you had hoped.

As The Three Families plunge the world into a recession, the Torchwood team – defeated, powerless, hunted – must strike a bargain with the devil himself.

Did anyone hear RTD’s little cameo as the Radio Announcer? And more John De Lancie – best episode yet!

This is just a spoilerish speculation)
just a thought. (probably TOTALLY wrong)
Wouldnt it be cool if the blessing was the AXONS. Episode with giant red (axon coloured) crack on the earth sucking stuff in. Immortal People bieng incinerated, the smoke released into the atmosphere to be sucked in the crack. Somehow using the axonite pole of the earth to generate an immortality field, derived from jacks blood, (the polar oposite to everyone else), even when you die, the matter is still alive. This is burned, the living ash is released into the atmosphere to be absorbed by the axons, (immortal energy to feed them forever)
The family people seem to be perfect, super smooth, fake people, like the axons were in old who.
That would be a cool scifi/doctor who related ending.

I think this series has been by far the best and much better than the series and children of earth. RTD has alot of imagination to write such an amazing storyline. (comment if you agree!!!)

I really havent enjoyed this series, agree with Dark side of the moon. The rabbit will really have to be pulled from the hat to bring everything together in an hour.
Shame because RTD is good but feel by trying to win over the american audience he has lost the humour and quirkiness which made Torchwood a good series orginally.

Well…we have an hour of the series to go..it’s going to have to be some episode to justify sitting through 9 hours of padded dross. So far, the series could have been told in 2 hours max.

A very dissapointing series IMO. Too much padding, Too little Sci-fi, Poor scripts, Awful ham acting (which would be fine if TW wasnt pretending to be a ‘serious’ sci-fi show this time round) and just generally not that interesting.

PS – Its seems a few viewers are trying to link in the Slilence. This will never happen. This is RTD’s own show, he is never going to use characters that Steven Moffat created. Besides the odd throw away line dropped in about the Doctor or the TARDIS, this spin off will never crossover with DW(RTD’s own words – although DW has crossed over with TW). Just as well IMO 🙂

oh i ment she might have been reffering to the cilence which would be awesome because they have influenced humans for ages so they might have influenced the three families to find the miracle so the humans can kill the doctor without getting killed

probably impossible but it could happen
