What Did You Think of The Girl Who Waited?
What Did You Think of Night Terrors ?
After the summer break Doctor Who is back on our screens with the third episode, The Girl Who Waited. What did you think? – was it one of the best stories yet or just not as good as you had hoped.

September 11th, 2011 - 3:59amSurely after this experience with the Dr, one for which Rory is aware of the Dr’s choice wrt his wife’s future self, this is rapidly reaching end of road time for Amy, Rory and Doc.
Its like when Martha Jones decided to leave David Tennants Dr, Once you know Travelling with Dr is as dangerous for your loved ones as yourself. Its time to step away from the Tardis.
Rory is pledged to protect Amy whatever, they also have a baby missing somewhere thanks to the Doc connection.
This is a travelling partenership coming to an end! Who will be the Doctors next Assistant?
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
September 11th, 2011 - 9:57ami do see what you are saying, and i do agree with you, this will become too much for amy, all the times she saw rory die in series 5, what if she saw him die for real and it was irreversable, they would always have that fear!
Kat
September 11th, 2011 - 3:35amI just dont understand why people liked this episode. It was poorly written, overwrought and once again confirmed that Rory is the only decent character this season.

September 11th, 2011 - 12:44pmWell I’m not sure what you were watching but I’m certain it wasnt “The Girl who waited !”
It was briliantly written, KG was amazing in both parts, its was scarey, clever and amazingly exicuted !

can you explain how you thought it was scary? i didn’t think it was scary at all. however, it was a good episode. not brilliant, but good.
Fox Mulder
September 11th, 2011 - 1:30amThe glasses were very reminiscent of the I5s from Torchwood.

September 11th, 2011 - 1:29amOMG it was a very emotional episode, it was very reminiscent of those Star trek holodeck episode were character have to die to correct a problem. IT WAS AWSOME glasses Realy suit Rory.

September 10th, 2011 - 11:17pmI enjoyed this episode, not as good as last weeks but better than some in this series.I thought Arthur Darvill was brill in it.The trailer for the God Complex looks a winner!
Dark Side of the Moon
September 10th, 2011 - 10:55pmWonderful!

September 10th, 2011 - 9:50pmWatched this twice now. What a wonderful episode, funny, exciting and moving with great performances from the cast. Loved the Doctor’s face in the final shot.
Matt
September 10th, 2011 - 9:47pmI didn’t really like this week’s much – it’s all about Amy/Rory now (it’s just a romantic drama now) and they’ve sort of lost the whole ‘Doctor Who’ feel of the show. Looking forward to next week, a good monster episode 🙂
The 14th Doctor
September 10th, 2011 - 9:40pmWhat do people see in “The Girl Who Waited”? It was awful, packed with too many talking scenes. Ok there was some fighting, but we’ve seen all that kind of stuff in DW so much before. It was boring. Bottom line. I can understand most fans will disagree, but I don’t think this episode was at all good for young kids or parents.
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
September 11th, 2011 - 9:58amas i said in my comment at the top, i agree, there should have been more fighting and less talking

September 11th, 2011 - 12:49pmYou know some fans amaze me ! When the show is too story arc focussed they get all frustrated and ask for something “stand alone” and when thats delivered it gets mullered ! “The girl who waited” was beautiful ! It was time to stop and take a breather, but with all the excitement of a personal dilema story too it ! Fantastic !

September 10th, 2011 - 9:38pmWonderful episode. Excellent performances by the whole cast and really developed all their relationships. Action eps are fun but emotional eps like this are when it really shines, especially like here where you see the darker side of travelling with the Dr.

September 10th, 2011 - 9:13pmHi
Quite a good episode, .. was that the 10th Doctors glasses ?
Nigelp
September 10th, 2011 - 9:11pmLipstick – anyone spot the lipstick?
Old Amy looked at a lipstick, but didn’t use it. Later, Old Amy kissed Rory.
Hallucinogenic lipstck?
Is everything going forward now ‘unreal’?
Niall
September 11th, 2011 - 12:05amIt was what Amy used to write the message on the wall and when she looked at it, it reminded her of 36 years ago.
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
September 11th, 2011 - 10:02ami thought that too, about the writing, i doubt she would have had a red pen in her pocket back then!!

September 10th, 2011 - 9:09pmfan what i call tastic!

September 10th, 2011 - 9:00pmI thought this was an excellent, well-acted and ultimately sad episode. Arthur Darvill in particular was very good, different from the normal “gormless Rory”. I can’t help but wonder if the Doctor’s actions at the end will come back to haunt him ?
The Blue box
September 10th, 2011 - 8:59pmThat episode was great!

September 10th, 2011 - 8:35pmLoved the bit when the women said “Disneyland Clom”
Nigel M
September 10th, 2011 - 9:06pmI had to think for a minute where I’d heard that planet before – Stolen Earth: “Clom’s gone ? Who’d want Clom ?!”. I’m sure it’s mentioned somewhere else as well.

September 10th, 2011 - 8:22pmWas ok, not as good as last weeks. Some nice elements but lacked something for me.

September 10th, 2011 - 8:21pmI really wish I had a TARDIS, so I could jump ahead 6 hours in my future and watch “live” with you lot! LOL.

September 10th, 2011 - 8:18pmGood episode, important part for me was the Doctor stating that you can change the future if you know what is going to happen, and that he could as he is unPredictable.
This could be a way out of the doctor dying in the season finale, he’s already aware of his death, so he could be plotting a plan to avoid it…

September 10th, 2011 - 8:23pmYeah – hes got 200 years to plan.

September 11th, 2011 - 3:45amIts the same scenario as back to the future 1, Mrty Mc Fly knew Doc Brown would be gunned down by terrorists as he escaped back in time. He left a note with the 1955 Doc telling him of future events, though doc doesn’t want it can’t tamper with future events he says. When Marty returns to same scene in future the doc is still attacked by the terrorists he stole Plutonium from but survives because he was warned of his death before it happened….. Looks like same scenario to play itself out in Dr Who, he will meet the young version of River pond in the space suit, while wearing a Dr who version of a bullet proof vest..
I AM DAVROS
September 10th, 2011 - 8:13pmI think Doctor Who this series has turned into ‘The Amy Pond And Rory Williams Show Featuring The Doctor’, OK episode ‘The Girl Who Waited’ but it was a little bit boring, strange how older Amy had very white teeth even though it’s probably been 36 years since she brushed her teeth?!?!? :
