It was a good episode enjoyed how it was wrapped up, I’m not convinced of the sincerity of missy’s remorse over her killing people she will be up to no good soon ! But where is the master?

How was the doctor able to fake regeneration?

Because Steven Moffat cares not about already established lore and time lord abilities

Why does he say last of the Time Lords.
(End of series 9 Gallifrey did return. And the doctor did leave again) I’m not sure Missy knows about that. Maybe the doctor doesn’t want her to know.

I voted this episode as much better than I expected. I loved the Missy bit, she’s just mental, the fact that the dr makes her stand inside a containment field shows he still doesn’t trust her. Those were fake tears for her victims, I think she’s waiting for the right time to make her move. I can’t wait.

The monks were good villains but I would’ve liked to see them put up more of a fight, they just took off in their pyramid (reminded me of Stargate) when I think they should’ve destroyed a few cities before going. Maybe all of the monk statues could’ve self destructed as a sort of monks revenge.

The doctors fake regeneration was a bit of a letdown. If he can use the energy whenever he wants (he gave Davros some of it) why then didn’t he use some of it to repair his blindness?

I loved Peter Capaldi’s opening monologue and him laughing madly as the prison ship was about to crash into the harbour. He would make a fantastic baddie, the doctor should go crazy every now and then. Maybe they should do an alternate universe story with an evil doctor and Missy could be the good time lord?

Bill narrating to her mum throughout this episode was a little annoying after a while. I don’t think it worked. But I do still really like Bill. Pearl is fantastic, a real breath of fresh air and just what the show needed.

    Can’t wait till next week.

So far, in this series I have only disliked a few episodes. These are my opinions.

The Pilot: 6/10 I thought it was OK but I felt it needed to get to the story a bit quicker and gradually give Bill more character development, instead of just in one go.

Smile: 9/10 Absolutely loved this episode. Probably my second favourite after Blink.

Thin Ice: 2/10 I’m sorry, but I hated this episode, in my opinion weakest of the series by far. It was basically a rehash of The Beast Below with a few changes. I relay didn’t like that long tedious scene with Bill asking the Doctor if he ever killed anyone.

Knock Knock: 7/10 I thought this episode was OK although K would have liked it if Eliza was actually evil and she was controlling the woodlice because otherwise it just reminds me of Hide, where the monsters were good.

Oxygen: 6.5/10 I thought the story was good, but what spoilt it for me was the whole Doctor being blind as I felt that that was just used for the next episodes and that Oxygen was just an extra beginning part of Extremis and not a story by itself.

Extremis 6.5/10 Well, first time I watched it I didn’t get it but I watched it again and I kind of got it. I didn’t like the cut back to Missy all the time because I didn’t see how it was relevant to the actual story. Also when the Missy scenes were on I kept wishing that it went back to the Doctor and Bill because I wanted to find out what was happening with them. Finally I found the last bit with The Doctor when hes like ‘IM EMAILED!’ with all the dramatic music really cringy!

The Pyramid At The End Of The World: 8/10 I really enjoyed this episode, it was really gripping and enjoyable. I still don’t understand why they cut out a price of dialogue because of the Manchester bombing because 1. It has nothing to do with Doctor Who which is a sci-fi programme and 2. That’s letting the terrorists win. Anyway I’m glad that the missing dialogue didn’t ruin the story like it did in Robots Of Sherwood.

The Lie Of The Land: 7.5/10 I had to rematch it again to understand it fully but it was a good story. I’m not a fan of the fake regeneration though, because of all of those fans who were SCREAMING IN SHOCK in the trailer when they showed that part being let down. It was quite funny seeing Bills reaction though. I’m sad that we didn’t see much or the orange/yellow monks as I really liked that costume for them.

Thank you for reading this, and this is just my opinion. 🙂

Too reminiscent of the Clara and her mother story! A waste of 3 episodes!

Poor directing and dare I say an almost lazy script! Not the culmination you would expect after the brilliant buildups the two previous episodes were. I liked the fake regeneration scene… and when that soldier says “couldn’t resist it” I think that’s the writers (Whithouse wrote this episode but I have this feeling that this idea came from Moffat… you know Moffat!) saying it to the fans. The music in that scene was also brilliant.

I detestested the ‘regeneration’ scene. Possibly one of my least favourite moments in Doctor Who. I just hate being tricked! It’s like the writers are telling a joke and I’m not in on it. It’s that feeling for me. A good episode can flip my expectations without having to trick me.

I can overlook this moment, as apart from that I thought the episode was pretty good.

They’re twisting and warping the science of the show and the previous rules that we’ve been told and have been established just to make cheap jokes with the audience. I’m so glad he’s leaving

Lame conclusion to the Monks trilogy. VERITAS was a strong start and to have it end like that is really disappointing.
The only bright spot in LOTL is its portrait of the Monks’ 1984 world.

I agree. I would’ve loved to have seen more of the Monk’s world, rather than being tricked by ‘evil’ Doctor and his ‘regeneration’

Whilst the narration was a link to the ending of the story, I did find it quite irritating and a poor substitute for drama.

Irritating = Nardole. Badly acted and not one bit funny. Terrible. The character is there for nothing more than getting the Doctor to A-to-B, whether it be in concious, action, or anything else the writers want gap bridging. And it is a shame, as Capaldi is excellent and Pearl Mackie is doing a good job, and having Nardole/Lucas littering the show gets in the way of developing the Doctor/Bill on screen dynamic & development.

I enjoyed last weeks show, and thought it was an excellent bridge to a finale, which was a rather limp affair in the end. No real drama, no real threat, the Monks did nothing and with the reset button pressed at the end, it makes me wonder what the point of this trilogy was.

An episode that was not too good.

and Nardole! I don’t get why people like him! If he wasn’t there, the show would be no different
