Poll – What Did You Think of The Woman Who Fell To Earth?

Now that the highly anticipated First episode of series 11 has aired what did you think? Was it everything you had hoped for or not what you expected.

We don’t get aliens in Sheffield. In a South Yorkshire city, Ryan Sinclair, Yasmin Khan and Graham O’Brien are about to have their lives changed forever, as a mysterious woman, unable to remember her own name, falls from the night sky.

Can they believe a word she says? And can she help solve the strange events taking place across the city?

Iv just re-watched TWWFTE. Still love it but I’m curious to know where that little blob of regeneration energy went to when it came from the Doctor. That can’t have been for nothing surely

Crumbs , I’m a bit late to the party! Although a fan of original Dr.Who (I’m old enough to remember the change over from Troughton to Pertwee) and a watcher of the ‘new Who’ I thought I would avoid watching the new episode ‘live’ so my objective thoughts would be …er..more objective. Well I watched it yesterday afternoon. I was embarrassed. It was very amateurish, terrible acting delivering terrible lines… Yet we know the actors are good. Jodie had a couple of three of four second bursts were you saw hints of what could be. But forced ‘I’m an alien, cor I’m whacky I am’ didn’t help.
It looked like no money had been spent on it…Crumbs again..It certainly didn’t look as though they had had thirteen months to prepare for this important episode.
It all had the feeling of an animated cartoon that was put on while the real Dr.Who has taken a rest.
And an animated cartoon that was written for David Tennent.
    :/

A very good espiode introducing the new doctor who was still adjusting to her new body and gender while trying to save Earth from an alien war. The companions are a very good choice. I am so looking forward to the future espiodes with many guest stars in them.

An excellent introduction. Within minutes of Jodie crashing onto the screen, I was sold. She IS the Doctor. Nice that Chibnall is going back to simpler plots, I’m sure that will be a breath of fresh air after eight years with Moffat at the helm.
Cinematography and visual effects look incredible, a huge step up. Doctor Who has never looked better.
The plot wasn’t anything to write home about, but with an opening regeneration story that’s to be expected. Plot needs to take a back seat as you have to introduce the new Doctor, their personality, a new tone and often new companions. I have no doubt the plots will be excellent this series.
Yasmin, Ryan and Graham were all brilliant, you got to know their personalities very quickly and easily, they were likeable and realistic. That comes down to great writing and great acting.
Although I was wondering why there was no theme, I think it makes sense if we haven’t seen the TARDIS yet to withhold that from us, I’m sure we’ll get it next episode.
The score was also great, suspenseful, memorable and well put together. The new theme sounds like a mixture of the 70s theme and the Eccleston/Tennant theme, while also sounding distinctly new.

Overall, very good episode, can’t wait to see where Chibnall takes us next.
    7.5/10

Great review. I do agree about the plot. It wasn’t perfect but it did its job. The real adventures start next week. I’m also looking forward to what the new writers come up with
