my whole family didnt think much of this series.infact i was disgusted at parts of it.i know it was out after the watershed but still kids watch this and older kids too.im an adult and was really embarrassed watching a couple of the episodes,im sure you all no which couple im on about.Russle is a very good writer but should go back to doing single episode stories, try and keep the pornography at bay tho.if we wanted to see porn we’d switch to apropriate channels.there werent any Aliens either my son couldnt understand why.By the way Russle T Davies,i wish you start writing for Dr Who again.

I thought the series got better as it progressed, but overall it was awful. Rex was a stereotypical angry lead with a harsh past character, which is a shame, because he could have been great. Jack was considered “gay” in this, when he really should have been flirting with anything and everything. There were no aliens to be seen, and all in all it was too political. It had none of the charm and horror of earlier Torchwood seasons. The death of Ianto, Tosh, and Owen had me sobbing for hours, while Vera and Esther’s deaths just made me tear up, which is horrible because both were very good characters. The one good thing I can say is that Gwen has become much more mature, and a much stronger character. I wish I could say something better, but I was sorely disappointed.

Torchwood Miracle Day could have been alot better, hopefully the 2012 series will be better, if they make one.

The series was so slow, not torchwood at all. The UK producers should know better to change a working format and produce this slow moving

Sadly this series of Torchwood did not live up-to the fast paced fun filled earlier series particularly series two.

CaptainJack was marginalized and was simplified to fit in with american stereo types — hew has become too gay and lost the omnisexual banter he had enjoyed and as for Gwen Cooper she is totally unrecognizable. I am sorry I got so bored with this series slow pace that i gave up at episode 5.

For Torchwood to succeed it needs to go back to the format of the second season with self contained episodes.

Russell t davies dont you dare give up on Torchwood its one of your finest. As for the critics only have to look back to 1976 I claudius brilliant series and now a recognised classic was not well received overall yet its proved its worth. Heres to the nest episode and then some!

Brilliant show and rumour has it that if series 5 is made stage 2 is resurrecting the dead using the information gained by making everyone immortal in series 4

Just one question that stuck in my mind throughout the series: where were the aliens? The only alien we got was that parasite thing and Jack. Torchwood was all about protecting Earth from the aliens that came through the rift. This series was just not good enough. It focused more on Jack and his past which was good but the blessing? Really? A space between two rocks? That’s just a bad ending. Its also bad that the CIA were more in charge than the torchwood team; this is a british made series and even though it was bought by starz it should have focused more on torchwood being in control instead of an american organistaion. But as always Gwen was the best and it upset me that Ester died- much prefered her to Rex. My opinion of the series is that it was average at best and nothing like the true torchwood (series 1 and 2). I would say people should watch it but don’t be surprised at how much this new series is lacking.

Wow OMG Torchwood amazing yeah at first i thought yeah its ok and where are all the extartrestrials and aliens …torchwood is so diffrent and i hated what they had dont to it but yeah overall now that i watched the whole series it was really good!!! Cant wait till they make another series!!
But i was really unhappy when Rex turned out like jack cause jacks blood was still in rex i was like no there cant be another person whos imortal like jack hes unique special in his own way no one can share that with him not even rex:( jacks one of a kind but What the hell Its torchwood so yeah might as well watch it anyway anyhow as long as jack still in it.For a moment when i thought jack was dead i was like nooo omg Torchwood is nothing without jack hes amazing but then when he came back to life i was all like yeah thats jack and i was so relived. Love Torchwood and Doctor Who the best tv shows ever!!!

we always know jack is going to survive. its a guarentee. one day in the far future he becomes the face of boe in the doctor who series, so torchwood cant contridict that. therefore jack is a fact. he will always survive.
I agree though about rex. jack is unique and there shouldnt be another like him. and anyways like jack said there is nothing special about his blood, it was just that rose (doctors compainion) reserected him and thus made in immortal in the doctor season 1. so rex being all immortal is illogical….
TORCHWOOD & DOCTOR WHO ARE AMAZING <3 more please 🙂 i want to see jack return to the current 11th doctor episodes, and maybe meet river!

Hey, I really liked this new series, though I think it was a bad idea killing of so many of Torchwood’s lead characters (Suzie Costello, Owen Harper, Toshiko Sato, Ianto Jones and now Esther Drummond) I personally feel some of the characters were killed off too quickly as their story could have developed. Plus Jack’s immortal, but Gwen seem to be immortal as well, every other mortal torchwood operative has died within a few years working with Torchwood, except her.

i cant see them killing gwen off. besides jack she is a main character. i really wish they hadn’t killed ianto, but i spose we wouldn’t have seen jack being as flirty with other people which is always entertaining.

i have heard there were no aliens in this torchwood, and the other dy for my bday i got the doctor who series 1 dvd box set, and all that is in there, is beautiful acting, amazing monsters, simple yet brilliant storylines, some of the recent episodes don’t live up to the old ones! and the monster is always the baddy, unlike the siren, who should have been a baddy! And the dolls, i wanted the dolls to haunt george for some reason.

No. No. No. No. NO! Jack is NOT immortal! He is a fixed point in time and space. Th Doctor has confirmed this. There is no way his blood would be able to make anyone immortal. The point is he cannot die. When Rose restored his life, she went too far. Most of the series has been an anti-climax. Not a monster or alien in sight! This is the same with Doctor Who. Too much mamby pamby soppy feely writing about trust and relationships. Bring back the good old monster – chase episodes. This has been severley lacking recently.

He is not immortal he is aging, just extremely slowly, in fact we actually witness his final death in the Dr Who episode Gridlock. The Face of Boe whom, RTD confirmed was Captain Jack Harness died at the end of the episode.

Watched it on Sunday and then again Thursday. I hated it. I’d give miracle day a 5/10. It started off decent with an ok first ep. 2,3 and 4 has me crawling around the floor untill it was over trying to pay attention. Ep 5 had me gripped the whole time and I was surprised at that. Ep 6 wasn’t as good but better than 2,3 and 4 combined. 7 was brilliant and is my fave one because it felt like torchwood. 8 was good. 9 wasn’t as good and 10 tried to be as dark as it could get but failed. Overall
    1.Children of earth(incredible)
    2.Series 1(Countrycide!!!)
    3.Series 2
    4.Miracle day

I thought this was a brilliant concept, however it couldve been made into a shorter series, stretching across 10 episodes meant it had to retain our attention for 10 hrs, and it just didnt. I didnt like the ‘plan B’ cliffhanger, it wouldve been better to close this storyline and open a new one next series. I do hope they go back to weekly adventures with a proper team, and i hope rex somehow becomes mortal again because i do not like him. Regarding its britishness, i dont understand why the bbc couldnt continue to fund it considering its such a popular programme, maybe next time it can remain unternational, just less american …

    Very disappointed with Miracle Day.
Far too long, meaning it sagged in the middle. Episodes 8 and 9 pants!! Should have been condensed to 7 episodes. American money will ruin this British gem. Get back to Cardiff and keep it British.

I am too old to comprehend the plot line, despite having recorded the whole series in order to be able to review any part of the plot that I had difficulty with.
I was rather distressed by the very large amount of violence and rather astounded by the explicitly homosexual sex scenes.
