Peter Capaldi is MY Doctor! He is just incredible! The writing is better than ever producing some great stories such as Flatline, Death in Heaven, The Caretaker etc, and this series introduced some fab characters; mainly Missy! This is a completely new style for the show and I love it!

Having said that, I’m in agreement with those saying that the show is starting to revolve too much around Clara. Danny Pink was a dreadful character so I prey that they don’t bring him back!

Finally, leave Moffat alone! His writing is amazing and every doctor has some bad stories but this series I can only say I didn’t like Kill the Moon! One in thirteen episodes isn’t bad going, keep up the good work writers!

Abousolutly fantastic series so here’s my ranking

    11. In The Forrest Of The Night – no logic
    10. Time Hist – underrated gem of a story
    9. Kill The Moon – very good debut for Peter Harness
    8. Robot Of Sherwood – enjoyable
    7. Into The Dalek – underrated
    6. Listen – fantastic
    5. The Caretaker – great great story
    4. Dark Water/ Death In Heaven – brilliant story
    3. Deep Breath – great series opener
    2. Flatline – wow absolutely brilliant
    1. Mummy On The Orient Express – fantastic story very very good

Peter Capaldi & Jenna Coleman work brilliantly together and are by far my favorite TARDIS team !!

Urgh. What a drearily average series.

Some was excellent, Mummy on the Orient Express and Flatline especially, and an honourable mention to Dark Water for looking really cool. Capaldi, I cannot praise him enough for his acting capability. Hell, even the writing has improved. Not bad Moffat, not bad.

But despite this, apart from those three, almost every other episode was at most, not bad. Some were really, really awful, and others I suppose alright at best.

The show has far too much Focus on the well acted but poorly written Clara. Might as well call it Clara Who! Seriously, what development has the Doctor got this series, hmm? Well, he’s old…and Grumpy…um…yeah. That’s about it. While a companion focussed episode (or even not-Doctor focussed episode) isn’t a bad thing, maybe 1/2 a series, very few of these episodes were Doctor focussed. Oh and don’t get me started on Danny Pink!

While I’m hopeful, I don’t think series 9 is going to be much better than this. Hopefully it will, but I suppose we have to wait…

The Capaldi Doctor is a brilliant, multifaceted character who really shows that inner struggle of whether he is good or not so good, whether he is making the best decisions or not and why, whether he should continue on as he has previously or rethink his Gallifreyan ways.. I love it! He has that depth of experience and emotion to really be an entertaining doctor for everyone, and I love the fact that they went with Capaldi – a true, decorated, venerable actor – instead of another younger actor who would be endlessly compared to David and Matt. David is, in fact, my favorite, right up there with Tom Baker, but Capaldi definitely has a chance to join them at the top, once we see him reach his true depth and potential (hint – writers).. Clara is a good companion, but perhaps we’ll see more versatility or at least a different side of Capaldi when the next Companion is revealed, and I really think that the choice of the next Companion will gauge how far Capaldi will go with the character. I would love to see a Companion that could hold her own with Missy as well as Peter, but we’ll see.. Great casting decisions so far, and I’m sure they will make an interesting choice!

I think Peter Capaldi was really, really good, although my first choice is Jon Pertwee. Peter Capaldi is a huge fan of Doctor Who since he was a kid, and I think that’s important to connect more easly with the character. And he did it very well. I’m looking foward to series 9… and 10 (with Peter, I hope!).
New regeneration cycle… Excelent. I knew they would come up with some idea to keep The Doctor alive.
To me, Peter is very much alike Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker, mixed with William Hartnell (same age when started) and Jon Pertwee.
It was a very good choice to come after the amazing Matt Smith.

I thought Peter Capaldi was very good, considering the rubbish scripts and daft plot lines. Just as Clara develops a character and shows some backbone, they go and take away her only reason for being!

I seriously hope that any further seasons will have a bit more thought put into them – more like the forethought that was given to the Bad Wolf and River Song plotlines.

Also, bring in a few more NEW aliens rather than revisiting the same old ones over and over again, just because ‘everyone loves a Dalek’.We also enjoy well written TV shows of which I have seen very litte of in the last season of Dr Who

at the moment in time peter capaldi is my third favourite doctor
    1. matt smith
    2. David tenant
    3. peter capaldi
    and so on.

my favourite episodes of peter capaldi are

    1.flatline
    2. dark water/death in heaven
    3. time heist
    4. listen
    and so on

I have watched all episodes of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th and out of those I think he has not really got a personality of any of those doctors. I do think his dark personality gets him as my 3rd favourite dr because he has a different way of acting however even though he is my third favourite dr he was not originally because I di think in deep breath and into the dalek his acting as the doctor was not as good as other doctors but he did improve. I do not think he will be my favourite doctor but he might be my second favourite.

I haven’t been a fan of Steven Moffat’s time as showrunner. Davies at his worst was kind of dull and schmaltzy; Moffat at his worst can be outright offensive. And his convoluted plots and retcons just started collapsing under their own weight. He has his undeniable strengths (and is a great writer), but too often his flaws got in the way.

With Season 8, all is forgiven. He’s addressed his weaknesses, we got a cohesive but not intrusive season arc, Clara went from a fairly bland, generic companion to one of the most three-dimensional and fascinating characters of Doctor Who’s fifty years. Peter Capaldi is hilarious and compelling. And of course Steven Moffat remains one of the best writers of Doctor Who, witth sparkling dialogue and a mercurial imagination.

Doctor Whi is back to being must-see TV, and this may be my favourite season of New Who so far.

In a word, awful. The writing at its best has been bad, the scripts terrible, the stories far fetched even for Doctor Who. The acting, one the whole, has has been good, I’m not knocking that. They did remarkably well in the circumstances, but I actually found myself, for the first time in its history, not bothered about watching it. Every week it just got worse and worse. Moon eggs in space, magic trees, men in tights Robin Hood. Downing a spaceship with an arrow? Made of gold? Pretty heavy gold, not much use for an actual arrow, and of course its relatively soft so not much use for penetrating the metal hull of a spaceship. And Clara chasing after the nauseating Pink character, what the hell was all that about? Then all the gender swapping timelord rubbish at the end. And why has the doctor suddenly become Scottish? He never was before, even Tennant didn’t do it with a Scottish accent. It makes no sense. The character hasn’t been exposed to a Scottish accent so why would he suddenly have one? It was bad enough when he was all northern but hey he could have been living in Derbyshire or somewhere for the last 50 years for all we know when he re-appeared on our screens. I was hoping they were going to tell us why he looked like a Roman he’d saved in the past. That seemed to be hinted at in the first episode but that wasn’t to be. Instead we got poor plots and ill conceived ideas. This has to rank as the worst season of Doctor Who since The Bertie Basset Man.

The Seventh Doctor was a Scot and so was the companion of the Second Doctor. So it makes sense to me,

Goodness thank you…. refreshing to hear a point a view that doesn’t succumb to the ageism nonsense. the show is really disappointing me. And is Danny Pink the most obnoxious character ever?! Always with soldier remorse and talking to Clara like an impetuous child. Its sickening

Bad news, judging by the interviews he is currently giving, looks like Moffat is staying for at least another year. This man is obsessed only with his legacy and despite what he claims does not give a damn about Doctor Who.I honestly feel he will end this programme if he does not do the right thing and step down.Peter Capaldi has carried him just like Matt Smith before him

Capaldi is my fave Doctor! He’s simply brilliant!
Enjoyed this season; but Clara got too big for her boots and there was way too much focus on her, especially since this was Capaldi’s first season – the focus should of been on him so we could properly get to grips with and understand his Doctor, as well as allow him to grow and develop as a character
Aside from that, a great first season for the best ‘new-Who’ (and my overall fave) Doctor!

Love Peter as the doctor but the writing has been on the whole disappointing. Too much Clara/Pink moaning about. To me the writing just isn’t strong enough given the ability of Peter and I hope that things improve so that we get more Tenant era writing where we can watch Peter really stretch his chops on screen.

So… basically make him fall in love with a human and become a Messiah-type character? No, I think mid-to-late Seventh Doctor era type writing would be better for him. A look at the Doctor as the manipulative type who, despite being the hero, does a lot of questionable things in being one.

I think he meant the quality of the writing during Tennant’s era, not the same plot points :/
