Wooden King and Queen at Doctor Who Experience

Wooden King and Queen find new home at the Doctor Who Experience

Visitors to the Doctor Who Experience will now be able to get up close and personal with the Wooden King and Queen from this year’s Christmas special.

The creatures from The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe have escaped their doomed forest and now reside in the safety of the interactive walkthrough exhibition at London’s Olympia Two. They are the brainchild of Steven Moffat, who was haunted by such wooden creations as a child.

The Wooden King and Wooden Queen were hatched from the baubles hanging from the branches of whispering Christmas trees, and reside in a tower grown from trees where they lie in wait to entrap their rescuers.

The Wooden King and Wooden Queen have been installed alongside many of the Doctor’s most familiar foes, including the Daleks, Cybermen, Silurians and the Silence. They will remain in their specially created viewing area at Olympia until the Experience closes its doors for the last time on the 22 February 2012.

The Doctor Who Experience is an interactive walk through exhibition at London’s Olympia Two, which runs until the 22 February 2012. You can still book tickets for the Experience by visiting www.doctorwhoexperience.com

They begun work there in about October (a picture of the Cyberhead in the digging site was posted on Doctor Who’s Facebook page). The Olympia Experience ends on 22nd February (a month today! Shocking!!) and will pack up and move to Cardiff and will open Late Spring or Summer 2012. 🙂

Yeah that’s what was there when I went but I’ve heard they added the junk TARDIS, Idris’ costume, Gangers costume and the Peg Dolls. The Silents should have been next to one of the time engine paneks though. Liked the Silents on the ceiling though. But I don’t like it when they’re on the ceiling in the show.

I’m going there for my birthday on the 21st January! I’m also going to the convention – I got the tickets for Christmas. Although I have no idea what you actually do at a convention. Mum organised it for me, and she reckoned I would rather meet Steven Moffat than Matt Smith, but that’s fine – who am I to complain when she’s just spent over £100 on tickets…

I wanted to go to that as well, but again, it’d be quite difficult. Although I heard Karen won’t be at the convention so that makes me feel much better about not going. I do hope they ALL will be going back to comic con.

I wish it would be more feasible to get to the UK/London. They should make some sort of Doctor Who experience in the US for us American Whovians (Put it in Vegas, like the Star Trek experience).

Work began for the experience in Cardiff back in September/October. There was a picture of the Cyberhead from The Pandorica Opens at the site of the Cardiff experience on the Doctor Who Facebook page at the site. Once they’ve finished work in Cardiff they’ll move the London stuff down then open it in Cardiff from Spring 2012. 🙂

They were the best thing about the xmas special, it’s a pity we’ll never see them again on the screen.
