New K9 Series Announced Omega to Return

From www.facebook.com

We are excited to at last now be able to tell you that there is a major project in the pipeline to bring K9 back as the standalone hero that he deserves to be.

We have entered into a partnership with a major US/UK company and are currently now developing a new multi Million Dollar series/s which will establish the K9 “brand” prior to the release of the feature film.

A K9 film would have been a one off, but with now having a new series to investigate, (which will be set in Space akin to Guardians of The Galaxy etc) we will be establishing our own universe on a much grander scale than we could do before.

OMEGA will still play a part and we haven’t dismissed the ideas of other characters such as The Axons, however we are very keen to establish new adversaries and alien creatures for K9 and his new associates to face.

The project will look to appeal to both new and old audiences and there will be more news in early 2019 so watch out on our social media.

Bob and Paul would like to thank #K9fans for their patience while the original plans developed into this far bigger opportunity. K9 will be back with you soon!

If they have any hope of success, then they need to make the voice less annoying. It’s like the Daleks… Really Old, Really Quick. Maybe an early episode can have a technician alter the voice to something else… Maybe it can be voiced by a Tom Baker, Hugo Weaving, Anthony Hopkins, Etc, etc, type.

The only K9 that I’ve ever seen was a couple cameos on Sarah Jane Adventures (I was a kid when that was on CBBC) so I don’t really know much about K9, but I hope we get this on TV in the UK.

Is this an American series? Is it licenced by the BBC and is it an official spin off or like the Australian one?

Will this have any relation to Doctor Who other than the characters, like will it be classed as a spin off or be unofficial?

The thing is Bob Baker owns the rights to k9 as a Character but the BBC own the design, that’s why you cant have the “original design” in a non BBC series ( a compromise was reached for the AUS series so it could be used in both to start with)

He also owns the rights to Omega and the Axons.

The K9 series is highly unlikely to mention anything else from the Doctor Who world so its down to how people want to see it.

Never knew that! It’s so bizarre and interesting all the legalities behind the scenes.
I was just curious whether this would be seen as an official spin off like Class was, I guess it’ll just be a smaller scale show then.

The film is still planned, just after the series, these things don’t always go as smoothly as planned but the show seem to be a done deal.

I have seen concept art of Omega but a long time ago so it may have changed, hope not because he looked superb

So if the trend of k9 tv shows go we can look forward to anything between 1 episode to 1 terrible series.
