I’m so lucky to work with such a magnificent cast. And this is a huge, muscular, thrilling drama which will shake The Whoniverse to its foundations. When the Doctor’s not in town, the whole of humanity is in trouble.

August 1st, 2024 - 4:15pmFred, “almost” a complete disaster? It was the most incoherent Doctor Who episode of the new series, i found no redeeming qualities, which most have – whether its set design, costume or effects. The sea devils looked worse than they did in 1972! They have the “sontaran effect” – if anyone doesnt understand what i am referring too, just look at Time Warrior vs Two Doctors… the only difference is, two doctors has a great story, which makes up for the quality loss. As for Legend, i genuinely dont understand the plot line, i just kept loosing interest. Maybe i should have paid more attention, but it was literally the only who episode where thats been an issue. Especially being a “Special”…

August 1st, 2024 - 11:16amI thought this sounded naff when it was rumoured over a year ago. Not much has changed, although Gugu is a fantastic bonus, and I’ll watch her in virtually anything. And as much as I loved the Jodie/Chibnall years (and I did), Legend of the Sea Devils was almost a complete disaster, so if this manages to retrospectively make that episode worth watching then it might be worthwhile.

July 30th, 2024 - 4:55pmIf the Silurians are featured are we going to be lumbered with the awful nu who variety ? I noticed one of them was in the christmas clip looking ludicrous.

Maybe ‘War Between Land and Sea’ would be better.

July 27th, 2024 - 9:44amHaving seen RTD recent comic con interviews. I can safely say, im not filled with tremendous hope. From a man that thinks The Acolyte is a great show, and coincidentally, that current Star Trek is amazing… It does worry me, where he gets inspiration from. Inspiration can be a great thing, but that relies upon the subject that it is drawn from. I mean, he even managed to make “hyping” up the the spin off, sound like some lecture on the environment. Now, dont get me wrong the sea devils worked in the 70s, and it was a political story… but that wasnt all it was. It was also very much focused on The Master. The two subsequent stories featuring sea devils have been poor. They need a villain character like The Master, to really make them stand out. Sea Devils arent really, what id call a villain. Much like Silurians. I also find RTD to be stuck in his own inner little circle, when it comes to casting actors. Some may even go as far as to call it a “bubble”? – Doctor who has never been afraid of recasting the same actor, but RTD has a huge array of actors to choose from, and the two announced are from his original run… then there is Suzzy from torchwood in season 1. Nothing screams new, fresh and regenerated – than reusing the same old crew.
