December 30th, 2012 - 3:58pmIt was not a stupid idea. Russell created the Time War and the death of the Time Lords as a back story to help introduce new viewers to the Doctor, and I for one think it was a stroke of genius on Russell’s part.
It was either that or have the Doctor appear in a brand new series as if he had never left our screens in 1989.
It would have confused a lot of viewers in the episode ‘Rose’ if it started with Paul McGann regenerating inside the Tardis to become Christopher Eccleston, leaving a lot of new viewers at the time unfamiliar with the concept of regeneration into saying “Ok, what the heck what that all about ?”.
Good old Russell 😉

December 30th, 2012 - 1:10pmAn alliance would be interesting. but a war would be better. I like the Cybusmen, but seeing them all blown up by the Mondasians would be awesome!

December 30th, 2012 - 9:53amIt turns out the time lords are not dead,as that was Russell t Davies,we are now in Steven Moffat era,so he can do what he likes,I hope. The master returns, and Russell t Davies story line goes in the bin, because it was stupid idea,so I hope the master returns, even if one writer made a let down, but I’m sure it can change, there still enemies after all,the master will return,I’m telling you and all that silly stuff that rassilon made him was all wrong
