I was already pretty excited for this series from the previous trailer due to the mix of new and bizarre monsters we were getting as well as Missy returning! And who can forget the Daleks? It was intrigueing enough to see a Classic Dalek behind the bronze one and what looked like the Dalek city of Kalaan on Skaro, but in this trailer we’ve been shown countless 60s era Daleks and Bronze Daleks, the 2008 Supreme Dalek and what appears to be Dalek Sec, as well as an Emperor’s Personal Guard, a Ressurection or Rememberance era Dalek AND the Special Weapons Dalek! Not only that, but we can see a swarm of them rising from the previously unidentified city, which pretty much confirms it’s a place of Dalek residence, if not situated on Skaro itself. Plus we know the Daleks will be in the opening two-parter since we see one with Missy. Overall, very interested about what The Magican’s Apprentice and The Witch’s Familiar hold for the Daleks and the Master/Missy. I swear to GOD the episodes better not have the different Dalek designs have no major role in the story, as was the case in Asylum.

The master & the daleks have teamed up before

The master did team up with the daleks way back in the Jon Pertwee era.

    I have a bit of a theory.

We all know that the Doctor lies, but what if another Time Lord (a mean one) is also a good liar. The three doctors in TDOTD sent Gallifrey to a pocket universe, the mean time lord found the real Mastet (John Simm, assuming he hadnt regenerated after the Doctor sent him back to the time war with Rassilon and Gallifrey). Anyway, this other Time Lord found the Master, murdered him, took on his name and carried on doing evil antics “in the name of the master” (see what i did there?).

Anyway, the evil one now calling herself Missy, short for mistress. And obvs, a woman callin herself Master would seem a bit strange.

And with the new series, Missy is seen with Daleks….. The Daleks are enemies of the Master as far as i can remember, so why would they team up with a being that they despise?

Missy with the Daleks – it’s going to be awesome! I’m also looking forward to the Dalek city, which might be on Skaro. Looking forward to the Zygon episodes too…yeah, I’m basically really excited for the whole series. 😀

It looks better than season 8, though looks can be deceiving, so I won’t set my hopes too high.

That is definetly Skaro. Also, do I detect the Cult of Skaro AT 0:46?

  • The Temporal Jelly Baby

    August 12th, 2015 - 10:33pm

It was shown after The Great British Bake Off on BBC One at around 9pm. But, of course, I was one of the people refreshing the page at 6.59pm. 🙂

    WOOOOOOOOOOO!

    I literally cannot wait.

A brilliant line-up of writers, and returning characters and monsters. The new ones look fabulous too!

Particularly excited for the two-parter with Zygons, Osgood, UNIT and written by the amazing Peter Harness!

I also love Capaldi and think the he is going to have another fantastic year this year – and hopefully many more!

Daleks rising from a city on skaro, classic Daleks and new series Daleks, supreme Dalek, missy and Daleks, UNIT, Zygons, Possibly a Haemavore? This looks amazing. I’m pretty sure this could be the greatest series ever!

  • Mutley45

    August 12th, 2015 - 9:41pm

Classic Daleks Re-appear In This Series. Last Time The Classic Series Daleks Appeared Was Asylum Of The Daleks. They Should Change The Colour Scheme Of The Bronze Daleks To Classic Dalek Colours For Future Appearances.

  • Doctor Stu

    August 12th, 2015 - 9:40pm

    August 12th, 2015 - 9:21pm

Daleks! The Master (Missy)! A big dragon thing! Zygons! And Rigsy!

And the really messed up hands with eyes in… Ew. That planet has GOT to be Skaro!

This series looks to be a hell of a lot better than last year! And even better the Daleks are in the same episodes as the Master! Brilliant!

Hopefully its written in that Rigsy joins the Doctor and Clara in the TARDIS. Much better character than Danny Pink. Although i did feel for him with his backstory of serving in the Army.

    August 12th, 2015 - 9:11pm

WOW! Looks amazing. And look at all those daleks! Now how can anyone say series 9 looks bad?
