Doctor Who: The Day Of The Doctor

Saturday 23 November 7.50pm

The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special.

In 2013, something terrible is awakening in Londonโ€™s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctorโ€™s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

Written by Steven Moffat

Directed by Nick Hurran

Executive produced by Steven Moffat and Faith Penhale

Produced by Marcus Wilson

Stars: Matt Smith, David Tennant and Jenna Coleman with Billie Piper and John Hurt

Really!? Where did you get this from? If this is true then I’m even more excited; as I was working on the basis that we had discovered he was the 8.5 doctor, and the excitement and mystery had worn off…
      but this changes everything!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

In the run up to the 50th Anniversary, I’ve decided that this Saturday I’m going to watch ‘Dr.Who & the Daleks’, followed by ‘Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.’, and then watch 1 story for each Doctor, counting down from 11 to 1 –

    11th Nov – The Doctor’s Wife
12th Nov – Planet of the Ood
    13th Nov – Boom Town
    14th Nov – The Movie
15th Nov – Remembrance of the Daleks
18th Nov – The Mark of the Rani
    19th Nov – Earthshock
20th Nov – Genesis of the Daleks
21st Nov – Carnival of Monsters
22nd Nov – The Tomb of the Cybermen
23rd Nov – An Unearthly Child

Anyone else planning to do a similar countdown of their own ? ๐Ÿ™‚

The doctor always new this day would come the john hurts doctor may have done something to the time lock whilest he was in the time war to let them go back to it , anyway we know itโ€™s not entirely impossible (dalek caan) and also Clara went throught the doctors time stream although its time locked the time war is still in the doctors past which means Clara could still enter it , it maybe possible dalek caan somehow got into the doctors time steam as he could predicted the future or something like that maybe dalek caan fell into his own time stream as he was in the time war (before escaping into the void ship) and so maybe he saw his own future but it was too much and drove him in sane? , thereโ€™s definitely a VERY big secret about the time war!

John Hurt could be the valeyard or something. Anyway besides Elizabethan England and a mysterious painting, this plot doesn’t really give us much. Nevertheless the 50th is looking pretty good. I hope to see a lot of Daleks in here.

An ancient battle in space, eh? I’m guessing Time War? :3 as for the modern and Elizabethan ones… No idea! I wonder if they’re all going to be linked to The Doctor’s past, like a secret painting of the Time War comes to life in 2013, an alien race start murdering people in Elizabethan times, but they’re actually abducting them and leaving behind fake bodies. And the abductees are used as meat shields in the Time War! Completely wild guessing here, but who knows?! However it plays out, it”s gonna be molto bene, fantastic, brilliant, good and cool!

I’m guessing that the ancient battle is the time war and his “past that’s coming back to haunt him” is John hurts doctor himself. We may see a lot of daleks as it is the time war hopefully some good action scenes from it as well ๐Ÿ™‚

      November 4th, 2013 - 4:45pm

That’s right, we will indeed be seeing the last great and final Time War.

The Dalek’s will be seen on Gallifrey itself, and hopefully will answer some questions us fan’s have been asking for ages, like ‘What was the Nightmare Child ?’, and ‘What exactly was the Cruciform the Master was resurrected to protect ?’.

Who knows, we might even see Davros’ command ship flying into the jaws of the Nightmare Child, or see the Cult of Skaro steal the Genesis Ark, who knows ! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • the 13th doctor

      November 4th, 2013 - 6:02pm

I know about the pics but the synopsis also refers to his past coming back to haunt him, which could be referring the time war as well in some way (especially regarding the pretty much confirmed identity of the hurt doctor) so I was wondering if the ancient battle refers to the time war or maybe another conflict

    • the 13th doctor

      November 4th, 2013 - 6:07pm

And about the nightmare child, if you watch the interesting Youtube video “the dalek that time forgot” it portrays the nightmare child as the giant mutated child of the emperor dalek, which is an interesting idea ๐Ÿ˜›

It seems highly likely, but Moffat is known for his unpredictability. However, it seems ever more likely it’s the Time War with each and every spoiler. We’ve been waiting since 2005 to see this event, and now we will!

    • The_Judge

      November 6th, 2013 - 8:55pm

As the consensus is that this is about the time war, then I guess this means timelords (Timothy Dalton et. al) or HOPEFULLY Derek Jacobi playing the Master before he used the Chameleon Arch ๐Ÿ™‚

      Anyway, the possibilities are endless….
