I hate to be a pessimist, but as my good friend Han Solo would say; “I’ve gotta bad feelin’ about this!” Don’t get me wrong, it looks and sounds AMAZING, but that’s the problem! It always seems to be the case that whenever an episode LOOKS great, it can disappoint! (With one or two exceptions) Bear in mind it is also written, mainly, by Peter Harness! Who is the writer of the atrocity that was “Kill the Moon”!!! But I do hope the episode is great as I am a HUGE fan of the Zygons!! I just worry, that’s all! This is Lord President, out!!

Big Finish scrapped that rule in The Zygon who fell to Earth and Death in Blackpool – they can no longer change, get stuck in one form, and do deteriorate, but can hang around for a couple of decades.

If they’d been really cleaver, they could have had a David Tennant guest/cameo in this episode. Having established the reason for Doctor 12’s face & that the Doctor sometimes remembers out of order, an appearace by DT could have reretrospectively explained 10’s face & given him another Zygon ep.

Anonymous, im glad you brought up that fact about Power of 3. I had it in my head it was set in present day, till i realised Amy said that she and Rory had known the Doctor for however many years it was

It could be the human Osgood that died, with the Zygon being the survivor. They can sustain a body for decades is required without the template surviving, the only problem is they get jammed in it and can no longer morph and without their shape shifting their bodies begin to break down and they die. Rather horrible stuff but it happens in the end.

Plus, we need to remember Osgood was nowhere to be seen in The Power of Three, which is set sometime in the near future, probably into the early 2020s (the dates aren’t all that clear, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship is certainly into 2017/18 if I remember correctly).

There’s 2 Osgood’s. One Zygon. One human. The Zygon one was killed by Missy.

Yeh but Russell T Davies’ deaths had a big impact they where tragic and emotional whereas Steven moffats deaths don’t make me feel anything because I just think they’ll turn up again in a few episodes

Doctor Who is a show about Time Travel as well as a whole bunch of other stuff. That means Death isn’t alway permanent… πŸ˜‰

Yep. Death in Heaven was the episode. Last thing Osgood heard was Missy tellin her to ‘say something nice’ then kablammo, Missy was stood on a crashing plane, ankle deep in Osgood dust and then flew off the plane

    Did she?????

  • Lord President

    October 15th, 2015 - 6:44pm

I predict that Osgood is her zygon counterpart from “Day of the Doctor”!! Except if Osgood did really die in “Death in Heaven” then sure the zygon can’t retain the image because they need to copy their victims alive to refresh the image?!?! But, I’m sure they’ll scrap this rule to make an interesting story…

“when Osgood is kidnapped”…. Seriously. Osgood is dead! Missy exploded her on the plane!

I still say that its not the human Osgood.

And to be quite honest, not all that excited about this two parter as i find the Zygons quite boring.

I’m really looking forward to this. Excited to have Peter Harness back, excited to have Zygons back, excited to have UNIT back, excited to have Kate and Osgood back, excited because it’s PETER CAPALDI and excited for the whole premise about Zygons on Earth etc!

Can moffatt please just kill off a character and keep them dead I love Osgood but to quote torchwood ‘dead is dead’

  • DOCTOR WHO ONE

    October 15th, 2015 - 3:43pm

I bet David Tennant wished this 2 parter was one of his stories, since his often said the Zygon’s was one of his real favorites from the classic series days and he wished his Doctor had faced them, apart from being with them in ‘The Day of the Doctor’ off course.
