Sarah Jane Smith – The Story Goes on – Forever

Sarah Jane Smith

Following the tragic death of Elisabeth Sladen earlier this year, the very last Television episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures has aired – but The Story Goes On – Forever.

Farewell The Sarah Jane Adventures

Filmed in 2010 along side series 4, The man who never was marks the untimely end of a wonderful and highly popular series – the World of Doctor Who will never be quite the same again.

In 2006 Elisabeth Sladen returned to Doctor Who as Sarah Jane Smith in School Reunion alongside the 10th Doctor (David Tennant). Later that year filming began for Invasion of the Bane, a special hour long opening episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures which originally aired January 1st 2007.

The Sarah Jane Adventures quickly became one of the most popular shows on CBBC picking up record audiences. In 2009 a special episode, From Raxacoricofallapatorius with Love aired as part of Comic Relief on BBC One.

The show has remained closely linked to Doctor Who. Sarah Jane and her adopted son Luke have turned up in Doctor Who a few times, the most recent being the 10th Doctors final story The End of Time. The Doctor has also shown up in The Sarah Jane Adventures, most recently the 11th Doctor (Matt Smith) in Death of the Doctor.
My Sarah Jane: A Tribute to Elisabeth Sladen

On the 19th April 2011 Elisabeth Sladen sadly passed away from cancer. My Sarah Jane: A Tribute to Elisabeth Sladen aired on CBBC directly after The Impossible Astronaut.

i think either steven moffat or russel t davies may do a story with the doctor, luke, clyde, rani and sky (plus maybe maria and alan). similar to the phone call scene from the wedding of river song but with more characters.

Its so sad that a great show has come to an end and Sky has only just came on.

Since Sky obviously wont be seen growing up and developing as a character due the end of this final ever series, im hopeing that someday she might meet the Doctor himself and end up as a companion with him when she’s older, atleast then we can get to know her better, cos she was just starting off as character in this final ever series of the Sarah Jane Adventures, and i was really starting to like her as well, Sky is cool 🙂

It is a real shame that The Sarah Jane Adventures has come to an end. it is also a shame we have lost Elisabeth Sladen she was a true star to the world. she will be missed by us all.

If there is anyone out there who loved Sarah Jane and Elisabeth buy her autobiography from the 7th November

    so sad

  • Jason doctorwhoone

    October 18th, 2011 - 8:43am

As i write this, it’s hours away from the last ever episode of this fantastic series. I will certainly miss watching it.

It’s a pity we will never find out who that man with the Parrot was, but maybe novels of the stories that never got to be filmed for the rest of this series could be written so we could therefore find out who the man with the Parrot is in the of the novels.

After today, the only real spin-off Doctor Who will have is Torchwood.

I feel sorry for Sky Smith, she was just starting life as a new character, one we will sadly see grow up and develop as Luke has.

Rest in peace the Sarah Jane Adventures . . . . and Elisabeth herself 🙂 🙁 xx

    Jason.
