Journey to the Centre of the Tardis

Ashley Walters on his Doctor Who role: you’ll see more of the Tardis than ever before…

From www.radiotimes.com

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Ashley revealed he finished filming his episode – Journey to the Centre of the Tardis – two weeks ago. “You can’t beat being in Doctor Who – it’s something I’ve grown up with my whole life and working with Matt Smith was amazing. He’s a really, really good actor and just being a part of that huge BBC franchise was an incredible thing. And Jenna Louise Coleman is really good at what she does – it seems like she’s enjoying her job and I loved working with her.”

I think this will be good I love to see more tardis rooms maybe the centre is the eye of harmony or some dark terrible secret, maybe an unknown force is at the heart of the tardis, dream lord or omega

Great news ! I was just thinking they should use the Tardis corridors (seen in the Doctor’s wife) in episodes.

But Steven Moffat isn’t keen on having “The tardis reduced to a bunch of corridors”.

So I don’t think we’ll be getting an episode like the start of Terminus where the tardis crew are just strolling down the corridors.

I read that his years christmas special (no doubt christmassier than ever, which is what they have said for every Matt Smith christmas special so far) will be based on the snowman.

WHEN, when I ask, are they going to do one about the grinch who stole christmas ?! โ—

Or rather Steven Moffat has been basing the past 2 Christmas Specials on 2 well known stories recently.

Maybe his become lazy and decided that every Christmas story he writes should just be a well known Christmas story with the Doctor involved, like saying ‘I wounder what would happen if the Doctor was involved in ‘A Christmas Carol’ ?”, and then he just goes and does it, change the names of the main characters from the story his basing it on, and that’s that.

    Sheer Laziness.

Yeah, it’s likely to one of the series 7 part 2 episodes in early 2013 or whenever likely the rest of series 7 is to be broadcast, hopefully not too long after Christmas.

Seems to me like their going to be doing their own version of ‘The Invasion of Time’ where they featured various parts of the Tardis not seen before such as the swimming pool and a sickbay.

Actually, does the Tardis really have a centre ? cos considering it’s been said to constantly expand well beyond the main console room, it can’t surely therefore have a centre.

Who know, just have to wait and see.

    October 23rd, 2012 - 8:28am

Esterath – Actually the previous version of the Tardis belonged to the 9th Doctor, but fan’s more associate it with the 10th cos he had way more stories then the 9th with the previous version of the Tardis console room.

It would have had more TARDIS rooms but the budget wouldn’t stretch…

  • Esterath

    October 22nd, 2012 - 8:25pm

Yeah, I loved it. But hardly any new TARDIS rooms just sopme corridors, plus it would’ve been better if there was a classic TARDIS, don’t like David’s TARDIS.

  • The TARDIS

    October 22nd, 2012 - 6:19pm

Yay! Finally, we get to see more of the indise of the TARDIS! It’s something the new series has shied away from, and the classic series did too much – hopefully this will sit somewhere in between. Really emphasise that the interior of the TARDIS goes on forever, but not go on about it.
