August 20th, 2012 - 7:05amI’m looking forward heeps to this episode. Although Steven Moffat stating that the Daleks aren’t as scary anymore, is a good point! He kicked them out of series 6 and now he brings them back as the more they get defeated the less scary they are but getting a room full of over a billion Daleks and having them say “SAVE THE DALEKS!!!” just takes that scariness away from them. Above all, awesome trailer, a little bit creepy!

August 19th, 2012 - 9:57pmThat mutant behind the doctor isn’t a mutant, it’s probably the man who pushes the doctor in the second trailer.
Also in the second trailer the doctor says ”his, the master’s, the daleks”. Does that mean the master returns in episode 2? Now Amy, after he says that, don’t you think she would say ”who is the master?”. but no she doesn’t.

August 19th, 2012 - 10:14pmif you watch the trailer closely in the trailer you see it move its tentacles like a dalek mutant would and it looks exactlly like a dalek mutant
John Smith
August 20th, 2012 - 7:09amIt’s a mutant. There’s no other explenation for what it is. Especially in a Dalek infested room there’s nothing else that it could be. It might even be Dalek Caan! That’d make me excited!!!

August 20th, 2012 - 7:39amThe Master is dead.
Listen carefully, the Doctor said “Today, I honour the victims first, his, the Masters, the Daleks, all their victims died because of my mercy’.
The Doctor’s telling Amy that his honouring the victims of those who are evil, such as the aforementioned Master and the Daleks.
Good point raised thou about Amy asking ‘Who is the Master ?’, but I’m sure the Doctor did speak of that bad day during the End of Time to Amy, we just didn’t seem him talk about it with her.
Jason doctorwhoone
August 20th, 2012 - 7:41amOh crap, I was not ment to say those who are evil, I ment to say –
The Doctor’s telling Amy that his honouring the victims of those who have been killed by people and monsters who are evil, such as the aforementioned Master and the Daleks.

August 19th, 2012 - 8:41pmok but where in the brilliant book 2011 is there a bit about the back of the daleks
Jason doctorwhoone
August 19th, 2012 - 8:46pmWhat you guys are talking about is the new section at the back of the Paradigm Daleks where 8 Dalek sensor globes should normally be.
This new feature has yet to be seen in action. But it’s said that the opens up, revealing new features such as weapons and other devices, making the Paradigm Daleks a kind of Swiss army knife of sorts if you will.
The back section opens up, and the Dalek mutant within selects what weapon or device it wants to use, and the usual manipulator arm and / or gun go inside the Dalek, and get replaced with another weapon and / or device.

Give me a Dalek any day
August 19th, 2012 - 8:52pmBesides, I have my own theories as to what the mutant is! And no, I don’t think it’s Caan! As a matter of fact, if it was Caan, I’d be very disappointed because there are enough Bronze Daleks in the Parliament and in the Asylum. 🙂

August 19th, 2012 - 5:55pmIs that the dalek emperor in the second image. I also hope that Davros is in the asylum

August 19th, 2012 - 2:53pmI just heard a Radio trailer for this episode on Radio 1, it started with the Dalek saying Doctor, an operatic screm of sorts, and then the Dalek crying out for him to save them! 😀

The silence
August 19th, 2012 - 12:41pmMaybe the doctor has to save the Daleks and if he does then that will save himself, now he is not the shouty doctor so much’the mighty warrior that the silence feared, maybe he will save his enemy, maybe it is part of the moff plan,I heard this idea somewhere ,maybe he will save hem so he is not so feared,it is most likely to make he universe forget him.
The silence

The Moffat Paradox
August 19th, 2012 - 4:13pmWondered as well if Moffat’s game plan(assuming there is one that we are all going to like)is that the Daleks are going to be NEEDED to deal with an even greater threat to the universe(s)than themselves ;whether or not its the Silence or something else. Evil is needed to fight an even GREATER evil?
While not altogether original its been done before in other Sci Fi like Star Trek DS9.
The United Federation Of Planets(UFP)and the Klingon and Romulan Empires (neither of which though are strictly evil)ally to stop the Dominion who represent a threat to them all.
Just like the Alliance created in “The Pandorica Opens” before the time lines are changed back again in the “Big Bang” when they are all seemingly manipulated into thinking its an open and shut case of the threat being simply the Doctor himself?
Otherwise why indeed not just let them all die this time for good? Unless(a dilemma the 4th Doctor dealt with in “Genesis Of The Daleks”) the Doctor thinks that if he dosen’t save them instead of just always beating them he is no better than them. He actually feels something he didn’t think he would feel about them; especially after the Time War.Sorry for them!
This near millenium old Time Lord in the clip is potrayed as being clearly taken aback by their chant to save them. Which from them is intriguing in itself.
The Man who stole the TARDIS from Galifrey
August 20th, 2012 - 12:11amThe only things that could be a greater threat than the Dalek is either
The Time Lords towards the end of the Time War
or…
The Silence
There’s probably 2 other things that I can’t remember but…
Perhaps this greater threat is the Daleks from the future?…
The silence
August 19th, 2012 - 12:34pmOff topic ,do you think the valeyard will return,I think he might as Moffat is turning the doctor dark’aso the dream lord’the 12 regeneration and the first question which I think maybe the birth of the valeyard
Jason doctorwhoone
August 19th, 2012 - 2:29pmCould be.
Anonymous
August 19th, 2012 - 2:39pmThe Silence want the Doctor dead because his future is “infinitely more dangerous”. The Valeyard is definetly a part of that future.
The silence
August 19th, 2012 - 11:35amThe episode is indeed set on skaro somehow, maybe the hand of omega is on skaro, that could hint at the return of an old enemy ,a certain time lord in a land of antimatter, maybe????
Anonymous
August 19th, 2012 - 11:44amThe Hand of Omega was returned to Gallifrey at the end of Remembrance of the Daleks.
Jason doctorwhoone
August 19th, 2012 - 2:32pmAnd Skaro don’t exist no more. It was originally believed to have been destroyed in Remembrance of the Daleks, but the 8th Doctor novel War of the Daleks reveals that before the events of remembrance, the planet Skaro was somehow replaced by another planet in it’s orbit, terrorformed to look like Skaro, and destroyed instead. The planet was called Antalin.
Dalek Caan said back in series 3 that Skaro was destroyed during the Time War, so the continuity does seem abit buggered up there I think.
Anonymous
August 19th, 2012 - 2:38pmYet it appears in City of the Daleks (which is canon) so that raises more problems, but definetly fits more into Steven Moffat’s version of the show.
The silence
August 19th, 2012 - 3:20pmWell I heard it is on skaro and just because it does not exist does not mean it cannot appear,Steven Moffat is in charge now not Russell t davies so Moffat can bring back skaro If he wants, plus the universe got rebooted could have changed a few things, plus the episode maybe set inside the time war somehow and it says in another synopsis about skaro.
The Man who stole the TARDIS from Galifrey
August 20th, 2012 - 12:14amTwo things.
T Davies didn’t destroy Skaro it was one of the writers of the 7th Doctor era and T Davies just went with the flow
and
Perhaps this is part of Skaro that sort of… fell off of Skaro when it was destroyed?

August 19th, 2012 - 10:39amI think the red supreme dalek is coming back because hes on front a magazine and maybe davros was saved and created another one

August 19th, 2012 - 7:26amNicholas Brigg’s will no doubt voice the classic Daleks, assuming if the classic Daleks speak at all, cos all we’ve seen so far is afew dead classic Daleks inside the vault just gathering cobwebs and dust, thou we do a Resurrection style Dalek in action [owned by none other then Russell T Davies himself 😀 ].
I do hope they won’t make a mistake with the classic Daleks by adding in the sounds the modern Daleks make when they raise and lower their eyestalks, turn their domes, move around, move their manipulator arms and guns, cos that would be a continuity error if they start having mechanical sounds that we hear with the modern ones.
If the classic Daleks use their weapons, then hopefully they’ll retain the classic Daleks weapons fire, not the modern ones.

August 18th, 2012 - 10:57pmI wonder if dalek caan will appear in this episode
foreverdalek 1323
August 18th, 2012 - 11:14pmi have a theorey that the bronze daleks that are in the trailer are new pure daleks, and the paradigm daleks are a special unit, unless they are daleks who survived the time war.
The Man who stole the TARDIS from Galifrey
August 20th, 2012 - 12:17amPerhaps insane Daleks who survived the Time War. Think back to the things the 10th Dr mentioned about the Time War. The Nightmare Child, King something(Can’t rmemeber what his name was) and his army of meanwhile’s and neverwere’s. There is every possibility that things like those could have scared the Daleks. Perhaps it was the time war itself that drove them insane?
