Rigsy Returns and The 12th Doctors New look

From the official site…

Filming has begun on episode 10 of the new series of Doctor Who and Joivan Wade, who played Rigsy in last year’s Flatline, is back! The episode is directed by Justin Molotnikov and written by Sarah Dollard whose previous credits include Being Human and the BBC’s acclaimed spy drama, The Game.

Sarah commented, ‘Getting to play in the Doctor Who toy box is a dream come true. It’s a total honour to contribute to a show that has brought me such joy as a fan. However, writing for Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman has presented a serious problem: some days I’ve been too excited to actually sit down and type!’

12th-new

Watch an interview with Sarah Dollard about writing series 9, episode 10.

The episode sees the return of Joivan Wade as Rigsy, the young graffiti artist who helped save the world in Flatline. He’ll be reunited with the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) in this new adventure although how and why he finds himself mixed up with the time traveling heroes is currently under wraps!

The guest cast for the new series includes Maisie Williams, Michelle Gomez, Rebecca Front, Rufus Hound, Paul Kaye and Jaye Griffiths.

The BBC Cymru Wales produced drama will return to BBC One this Autumn with further casting to be announced.

Remember in the classic era, up to the 1980s, nearly every story was set on an Alien planet.

Don’t forget they were in Time of the Doctor, so the Weeping Angels can always come back…

I thought Rory “dying” in angles take manhatten cleared out the weeping angels on earth. I mean when he jumped off the roof. Wasn’t the one that took him & Amy the last? Or was that just the angels in new york?

I loved the weeping angels are they coming back? Or why don’t you have them wake up in graveyards and start attacking people. .. just a thought…

It is rumoured that it is a tardis map, but take that with a pinch of salt.

Seems to be too many earth based stories in series 9…

There’s a thought. Star map or maybe dimension map for Gallifrey. That could explain Rigsy too if the map is incomplete or needs restoration or something like that. Or maybe he’s just caught up in the madness again.

I love the Twelfth Doctor’s new look. Very Pertwee, perhaps even more so than before. And Rigsy returning? That’s good. I liked him, and I liked Flatline. I wonder if he’s going to be the Craig Owens or Professor Travers of Peter Capaldi’s era.

Wait a minute. What happened to “why have you got two jackets is one of them faulty”? Ha. Doctor hypocrite. Am almost sick with anticipation for new series. I cannot love death in heaven & last christmas as much as the rest of series 8 (no matter how I try) but that does not change the fact Doctor 12 is my favorite doctor ever. As for Rigsy, maybe if Clara isn’t impersonating the doctor this time, she might be able to give him more consistent attention. Poor lad was so proud to show off his art & she barely looked at it.

Perkins? I know he was set up in the story to be a bit suspect but… I’m still suspicious. I think he was playing his cards close to the chest, to use his phrase, right up ’til the end. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a villain but I do think there might be a secret or two there.

I mentioned this story, along with a link, on this site yesterday in the ‘Ask A Question’ feature before BooBoo made this story featuring the above pictures.

So I’m just jokingly saying that I’ve not not been thanked by BooBoo for sharing the news that Capaldi’s Doctor has a brand new jacket that looks very 3rd Doctor-ish.

VELVET! He’s wearing VELVET! Oh My God! So we’ve had a hint of the first three doctors in 12’s costume for this new series: Check trousers very much in the same style as Doctors 1 & 2 and now a velvet jacket like 3… I wonder if he’ll wear a cravat or tartan waistcoat soon to match with 4…?

Ooooh . Happy Rigsy is returning! ( would have preferred Perkins to win though)

The 12th doctors new coat makes him look a bit like peter Cushing ……pl

Majestic now actually means something (with regards to the coat). The obvious plump is for the boneless to return, but I assume there will be some other, new awesomeness, an emerging trend I expect that will characterise the new series. Rigsy could be a really good character to develop as long as we don’t get too carried away…
