Series 11 Cast – Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill
Meet the cast on the all new series of Doctor Who!
When Jodie Whittaker takes over as the Thirteenth Doctor on the global hit show next year, she will be joined by an all new regular cast.
BBC announces today (October 10, 2017) that Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill will line-up as the new regular cast on Doctor Who.
Bradley will star as Graham, Tosin will play Ryan and Mandip will play Yasmin.
Also joining the series in a returning role is Sharon D Clarke.
New head writer and executive producer Chris Chibnall, who made the decision to cast the first ever woman in the iconic role, is also shaking up who will travel with the Doctor in the TARDIS, with a team of new characters.
In more exclusive news, it is confirmed that the new series will be a ten week run of fifty minute episodes in Autumn 2018, kicking off with a feature length hour for the opening launch.
Chris Chibnall says : “The new Doctor is going to need new friends. We’re thrilled to welcome Mandip, Tosin and Bradley to the Doctor Who family. They’re three of Britain’s brightest talents and we can’t wait to see them dive into brand new adventures with Jodie’s Doctor. Alongside them, we’re delighted that Sharon D Clarke is also joining the show.”
Jodie Whittaker says : “I am so excited to share this huge adventure with Mandip, Tosin and Bradley. It’s a dream team!”
Bradley Walsh says : “I remember watching William Hartnell as the first Doctor. Black and white made it very scary for a youngster like myself. I was petrified but even though I’d watch most of it from behind the sofa through my fingers, I became a fan. I then queued up for ages to get into the Carlton picture house in Watford to watch the great Peter Cushing appear as the Doctor in a full length feature film made in glorious colour. Am I thrilled to be part of this whole ground breaking new dawn for the Doctor?? Oh yes!”
Mandip Gill says : “I am over the moon to be joining the Doctor Who family. This is an iconic show with an amazing fanbase and I look forward to everything that brings. Certain roles seem unattainable and this is one of those, so much so I didn’t believe it to be true for the first few weeks. To be working alongside the likes of Jodie, Bradley and my old friend Tosin is thrilling. This show is worlds away from the work I’ve done previously and that’s the part that excites me the most.”
Tosin Cole says : “I’m grateful and excited to be a part of this journey with the team. I’m looking forward to jumping in this Doctor Who universe.”
Matt Strevens, Executive Producer, BBC Studios says : “I am thrilled to welcome Bradley, Mandip and Tosin to the new Who family. Working with three such talented actors is going to be a lot of fun. The Doctor is in fine company.”
Piers Wenger, Controller of BBC Drama says : “The casting of Mandip, Tosin and Bradley is a mark of the new creative ambition Chris is bringing to Doctor Who. He’s already made history with the casting of Jodie. These three new characters complete a new and utterly unmissable team aboard the Tardis.”
Doctor Who is a BBC Studios production for BBC One and a BBC AMERICA co-production. BBC Worldwide are the international distributors for Doctor Who.

November 2nd, 2017 - 4:38pmNoooo not candy man. Okay we remake him as handy man, he like to cut off people’s hands. He can also be the master cursed into that body.

November 2nd, 2017 - 3:06pmT.A Kandy Man wont make a return as its a copy of the Bertie Basset character, i read it in an issue of DWM a while ago i think. Although if it was a new style of the creature, maybe it could work. That thing’s voice was creepy

November 2nd, 2017 - 7:22amAnd if Chris is going for a less monster of the week series then a villainous humanoid with some actual character and or backstory would be a nice change.

November 2nd, 2017 - 12:52amThe company/being behind the events of MOTOE was only refered to as ‘GUS’ which could be the individuals name (short for augustas) or it could of course be a good old acrynm for something, revealing the intent of the company/organistaion.

November 1st, 2017 - 10:38pmI’m all for this tbf.
Bradley Walsh is a fine actor indeed, and not new to the Whoniverse – if we recall, he played Oddbob the Clown in the SJA. That doesn’t seem to be mentioned elsewhere.

November 1st, 2017 - 8:55pmActually was it even said whether it was a company or just some small group who were fascinated by the Foretold.

November 1st, 2017 - 8:53pmEspecially with less episodes. I’d be happy with maybe one villain returning but I would like it to be a more obscure choice that’s only appeared once or twice thus far. For example, I would like to see a return of the company from Mummy On The Orient Express involved in a larger scale story and Chris wouldn’t even have to shove it in our faces. There could be a few easter eggs or a short scene implying it is the same company.

November 1st, 2017 - 5:35pmThey should bring back the candy man.

November 1st, 2017 - 1:57pmBradley Walsh is actually a good actor so I am pleased he will be around to boost Jodie who I still fear is not strong enough to carry the show. I don’t know about the two younger cast members but we can only hope. It was good back in the day when we had a “full” Tardis so this does make me feel more enthusiastic whereas before I just felt dread. Onwards and Upwards!
The Moffat Paradox
November 1st, 2017 - 12:29pmDepends how their used and for me after the Christmas Special it’s all still tainted by the casting decision and PC agenda obsession anyhow.

November 1st, 2017 - 11:39amIt would be nice if we could have a series without any old monsters , no Daleks or any .

October 30th, 2017 - 2:37pmThe standard Paradigm Daleks are essentially all red (now metallic), it’s only a few different ranks that are other colours.
The Doctor Will See You Now
October 29th, 2017 - 8:33amI really like the Weeping Angels too, but I’m not sure if I want them to come back. I feel that each time they return they loose an element of their creepiness because we learn more about them.
In my opinion the most effective villains in Doctor Who are the ones which only appear once and we learn very little about, such as the creature from Midnight and the creature from Listen.
The Outcast
October 28th, 2017 - 2:46pmYour idea for the ending is really good. Something I would have done differently would be that Bill would be the only Mondasian Cyberman in the forest and that she is taken over and the Cyberman that was once Bill kills 12 and is subsequently destroyed. Then that scene with her mum could take place at Christmas and she appears to 12 as a spirit.
Doctor Stu
October 28th, 2017 - 10:35amI found myself wanting Bill to actually die just so I could say ‘finally moffatt has taken a risk’ but no….saved by a puddle. It would have been perfect for her mother to come back who’d been referred to many times over the series and hold her daughters hand and ‘walk with her into the afterlife’ or something similar but no some creepy alien stalker with attachment issues had to be her saving grace
The Outcast
October 28th, 2017 - 8:19amYeah, actual stakes are needed if this show is ever going to become popular again.

October 27th, 2017 - 11:21amWith regard to PC the new TARDIS crew is the most PC EVER! As for Bill, it seems fine that straight assistants were allowed to canoodle at any given opportunity but For Bill it just was a blatant act of pushing the boundaries too far! There was no point in making her gay then not allowing the character to express those feelings. Bill you will be missed, great actress, great character.
The Brigadier2016
October 27th, 2017 - 10:00amSame here!
The Brigadier2016
October 27th, 2017 - 9:56amCan’t help thinking that they’ve cast three companions to draw attention away from Whittaker as the Doctor. For me, she is a bland choice (as others have said).
Wet as a floorcloth in Broadchurch. Not convincing in Trust Me. Seemed to think that range was all about shouting and histrionics in Antigone, where Christopher Eccleston acted her socks off without even breaking sweat! Seems like we now have someone from the acting equivalent of the X Factor school of power singing as the Doctor! 🙁
Do they feel that having three companions means less screen time for Thirteen I wonder? Might cover up a poor, bland, uninventive choice as the Doctor?

October 27th, 2017 - 1:17amWould really like to see the Weeping Angels come back, to fight the new Doctor
The Dalek Whovian
October 26th, 2017 - 6:18pmI guess if Stranger Things can work with eight 50 minute episodes, perhaps Doctor Who could work with something similar
The Dalek Whovian
October 26th, 2017 - 6:09pmThe cast looks great and (hopefully) there will be less filler episodes, now we just need to know how the writing will be

October 26th, 2017 - 12:48pmI meant dalek the auto correct messed it up.

October 26th, 2017 - 12:47pmThey should of kept the paradigm Daley’s one colour.
Doctor Stu
October 26th, 2017 - 9:54amI think we need the same bronze Daleks as the default Dalek with maybe a new special unit design like the supreme etc or a new guard daleks or something as opposed to redesigning the daleks altogether
R1ch1e
October 26th, 2017 - 7:49amAs long as it’s not a Paradigm level redesign. I don’t think I could take that again! A new TARDIS interior and Screwdriver YES but Power Ranger Daleks? Oh Hellz NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
T.A
October 25th, 2017 - 10:44pmI wonder if there is going to be a new design for the dalek there still cool now, but we need a new design for them.
