Just learned that a scene from this episode has been edited out before Saturday’s broadcast involving a beheading scene in the story as a mark of respect for the 2 US Journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff who was both recently beheaded by ISIS Jihadists.

I didn’t think Doctor Who would ever do a story featuring any kind of beheading, except maybe ‘The Five Doctors’ when a Cyberman has his head chopped off by the Raston Warrior Robot during that Cyber Massacre in the Death Zone on Gallifrey.

they wouldn’t full stop to a “human” character

cut the scene by all-means but I’m not sure the way this is been portraid is necessary

Over the years there have been a few scenes like this with the Doctor “about” to be be beheaded (happened to Peter Davison twice at least) but as booboo says it would never actually happen (in shot) to a humanoid character….it is more off screen implied threat.

Robots have lost their heads a lot though….

It didn’t need the papers to portray it how they have though but that is tabloid journalism for you.

Why is the trailer using the theme from the last series, are we being given a chance to say which one we prefer?

Yeah, they really need to change the theme from the 2012 version to the modern 2014 version.

With the Doctor constantly insisting that Robin Hood isn’t real, I wonder if the Land of Fiction from Patrick Troughton’s era will be the twist in this story 🙂

I dunno, it looks like it would work better with the Eleventh Doctor, with it looking like a bright, fun episode, which doesn’t really fit in with the theme of the Twelfth Doctor’s character arc about finding out whether or not he’s a good man, but we’ll see… We’ll see…

No I don’t. It was all cleared up in The Time of the Doctor. The War Doctor isn’t numbered because he didn’t call himself the Doctor during the Time War, and the Tenth Doctor, due to vanity issues, found a way to regenerate and keep the same face. So Matt Smith IS the Eleventh Doctor.

Eh. This doesn’t look so good. Hopefully it won’t be too bad, like ‘Unicorn and the Wasp’ bad. But, I’m setting the bar low for this one.

I’m looking forward to Deep Breath today! The Half-Face Man is unsettling, not only because yesterday I was looking at the picture of him in DWM, and I realised there was something wrong with him. And then I figured out that he had three hands!
I think Robot of Sherwood will be absolutely awful. I’m looking most forward to Kill the Moon, Mummy on the Orient Express, Flatline and The Forest of the Night. I’m also glad to see the Cybermen return in Dark Water, although I hope they are better than they were in Nightmare in Silver.

I don’t see what was so bad about the Cybermen in Nightmare in Silver. They were both a merciless, unstoppable army of silver soldiers and creepy lurking things that would turn you into the living dead throughout the episode.

Well I loved ‘robin of sherwood’,well the Michael praed version anyway until he regenerated himself into ‘Jason connery. Then I switched off. Mark gatiss says this ended up being more of a romp, so maybe Robin of Sherwood meets maid marion and her merry men but still retaining the sci-fi element with regards to the myth of robin hood.
