When i watched Revelation of the Daleks i was annoyed by the Doctors age awell. The 10th Doctor was 905, and the 9th Doctor was just 900. Surly the time war couldn’t happen within a year (unless it was a time loop). Then again the Doctor lies. He could be any one or anything, and is feared across time and space.

I think this quote from SM explains much of the confusion over the Doctors age…

The thing I keep banging on about is that he doesn’t know what age he is. He’s lying. How could he know, unless he’s marking it on a wall? He could be 8,000 years old, he could be a million. He has no clue. The calendar will give him no clues.

The Doctors age has been inconsistant throughout the shows history…I wouldnt get too bogged down by it…but if you want to read about the inconsistancies, then I recommend read this http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Doctor%27s_age

just watching ‘the doctor revisited’, and having not seen classic who, just discovered that the seventh doctor was 950 yrs old, but the doctor comes back in new who as 900 years old. could this be part of what steven moffat said about us miscounting the doctors?

I think its more likely to be the John Hurt Doctor without his jacket…he’s wearing the same cross chest straps.

I know the 50th Special was filmed before MS shaved his hair, but I wonder if he DW production team allowed him to shave it because he is only in one scene in the Xmas special….maybe the doctor regenerates at the start of the episode for a change….either that or we will have his rug distracting is for the entire episode.

It’s not an ‘n’, it’s ’17’. It is 17:16, the time of the transmission of An Unearthly Child, and following it is the date, 23/11/1963
