The Impossible Astronaut 6:00pm – 6:45pm BBC1

Doctor Who The Impossible Astronaut

Broadcast times from www.radiotimes.com

Saturday 23 April
6:00pm – 6:45pm BBC1

The Doctor – Matt Smith
Amy Pond – Karen Gillan
Rory Williams – Arthur Darvill

Four envelopes, numbered 2, 3 and 4, each containing a date, time and map reference, unsigned, but TARDIS blue. Who sent them? And who received the missing number one? This strange summons reunites the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River Song in the middle of the Utah desert and unveils a terrible secret the Doctor’s friends must never reveal to him.

Placing his life entirely in their hands, the Doctor agrees to search for the recipient of the fourth envelope – just who is Canton Everett Delaware the Third? And what is the relevance of their only other clue: ‘Space 1969′? Their quest lands them – quite literally – in the Oval Office, where they are enlisted by President Nixon himself to assist enigmatic former-FBI agent Canton, in saving a terrified little girl from a mysterious spaceman.

For the series finale last year they lost a few million viewers due to the hot weather.
Part of the reason was due to it being to early.
Even I missed half of it

Last year fof the big bang they lost a few million viewers due to the sunny weather.

Well for someone saying its not good for you, you seem to be doing a fair bit of it there! TV fandom is cursed with worrying about viewing figures as its seen too many shows go down through it. However Dr Who is a money maker for the BBC so I dont think the numbers will worry them too much but it will generate a load of analyses and Tennant vs Smith, RTD vs Moffat rants

Oh for the love or Rassilon !!, does it really matter what time Doctor Who is on ? . . . . just be greatful that Doctor Who back on another for a 6th Series . . . . or would you rather indure another 15-16 years of absolutle HELL having absolutely NO DOCTOR WHO ON what so ever lke it was during the so called ” Wilderness Years ” of the 1990’s when all we had was the TV Movie ???? . . . . I do apologise offcourse, but moaning just aint health, believe me, i should know, ive moaned about sorts of stuff i recent years, it’s not good for you.

if we did everything how RTD used to we’d have again predictable storylines and endless amounts of clichés.
Besides it’s up to the BBC to sort when everything is scheduled, not the Doctor Who team themselves.

    April 12th, 2011 - 1:01pm

It starts the week before who but yes your probably right. Atlhough then it will clash with the X-Factor

  • 907

    April 12th, 2011 - 1:00pm

yeah but more of a wait

  • 907

    April 12th, 2011 - 12:59pm

that’s probably why they split the season so it would air in june

  • Viathevoid

    April 12th, 2011 - 12:43pm

Although there is the danger of clashing with Britan’s Got Talent

    April 12th, 2011 - 12:14pm

Sorry to reiterate but YES!!! 6pm is far too early. The BBC really do not listen to their viewers. Many of us said over and over again last year that the episodes were going out too early and it looks like it’s going to be the same this year.

  • Adam Towers

    April 12th, 2011 - 11:52am

6 is too early for casual viewers!!! Like 7 or 7.15 EVERY week like RTD used to. It’s guaranteed to increase viewing figures

  • Daniel

    April 12th, 2011 - 11:47am

Good job you added the re-written part at the bottom. I was about to say “River died when we first met her, with Tennant”
Although, on that point… It doesn’t really make sense as to why she would die twice…

  • I Love Cybermen

    April 12th, 2011 - 11:17am

True Dr Who fans won’t 907 but some episodes of Series 6 lost a lot of viewing figures due to casual viewers going out to enjoy the sun’s rays…They should be upgraded or they should be deleted.

i want care sunny its DW

  • renegade dalek

    April 12th, 2011 - 10:57am

i can’t wait till it starts but annoying that it starts at 6pm not 6:30, but who sent the envelopes, and who will die in the first ten minutes, must be river, cos in a picture for ep3 rory is in it meaning river has died in episode 1, good ridance, river is so annoying!

Also ISn’t amy cos she’s ep3 and so is the dr.

so river song dies in ep 1, apparently it is very sudden (the death), and before you ask, time CAN be rewritten so she WILL die in ep1, no denying it.

  • Ian Cuffy

    April 12th, 2011 - 10:49am

6pm is to early. If the weathers nice then the episode will lose viewers. Why are the BBC putting it earlier every year? Iplayer will get more hits than transmission at this rate. I don’t finish work until 5, hopefully be home in time. Not happy!
