April 16th, 2011 - 8:17pmOnly 2 things actually spring to mind that Doctor Who has done that i would say originate from Star Wars. First off, Davros’s in Series 4, he shares the ability to shoot electricity from his Cybernetic Hand, just like Emperor Palpatine / Darth Sidious does in Episodes III and VI, and secondly, the Dalek Spacestation, the Crusible is clear the Daleks equivalent of the Death Stars [ funny, i allways woundered what it would be like if the Daleks took over the one of them Death Stars, now i know 😀 ]

April 16th, 2011 - 11:52amDr Who was very Star Wars during a time in the 80s with Vader styled cybermen etc. It depends on the episode. Some, like ‘New Earth’ can be compared to Star Wars and certainly the Emperor seemed to have something ‘Davros’like about him. Which is better? I love both, though both can be utterly different. Star Wars is an example of American sci-fi (it’s insired by ideas of religion and is also quite military based) meanwhile Dr Who is pure British sci-fi(anti-war and wonderfully whacky with some humour scattered about). Both are great to watch and both styles of storytelling are legit.
