March 25th, 2012 - 11:55amAttended the convention yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic! Very well organised with minimal waiting times and no stress. Everybody was helpful and friendly (cast and crew) and the fans were really cool too. Doctor Whi fans are pleasant and civilised. Lived the photo -autograph opportunities, especially the script given to us. And a DVD was added to the welcome bag. My son and I had the best time ever and have a lot of photos to remember it by

March 20th, 2012 - 8:20pmNever met any of the crew in person, they were filming in my area, but wheb I went to see they were packing up (I had to make do with what my family had seen and the pics they had taken), been a huge fan for use collect nearly everything, barly get the chance to go to places like this (the furthest in my life I’ve ever gone is to London – from Wales) I ask if I can go, I can (luckily) come here to book tickets and its £99.00… Each. That, the trip to Cardiff, price with friends and family would clear out about £5.00 or so out of me. Dreams and excitement have gone in a puff. Thanks BBC! Guess I’ll just have to wait for luck to come my way!

March 13th, 2012 - 5:29pmC’mon guys, quit complaining about how much your kids are going to cry and how the “disgusting” price will break their little hearts. If you can’t you, you can’t go. There’s plenty of more child-friendly unofficial conventions that are cheaper, the BBC won’t drop the price just because you guys don’t like it. I’m going, i saved up, i can’t wait. /Rant.

March 10th, 2012 - 7:32pmIt’s crazy expensive..Cons here (Canada) don’t run that expensive per day. I would have arranged my flight to the UK differently to attend had it not been ridiculously priced.

March 1st, 2012 - 12:24pmwould love to go but mainly to meet and get a picture with Karen Gillan but the saturday are sold out of entry tickets and on the suunday she is only signing no photo opportunities which is a shame

February 29th, 2012 - 9:34pmI think the bag of souvenirs could have been better. When you see what celebrities get at their bags at fashion shows and oscars. A laminated pass and a souvenir ticket. Is that it!
Liz
February 29th, 2012 - 9:11pmDear Elizabeth
The name on the ticket will not make a difference on the day. As long as the bar code is in full to scan.
Kind Regards

February 29th, 2012 - 9:02pmNow nobody has bought them all up you can now buy as many as you want
Liz
February 29th, 2012 - 8:54pmThat is just for Stephen Moffat. However no sign if a competition for it as yet
Liz
February 29th, 2012 - 8:51pmI wrote to the convention and they told me the name in the ticket doesn’t matter as long as you’ve got a ticket in hand

February 29th, 2012 - 8:21pmI really want to go, but I’d have to pay for travel, I’d have more than likely pay for somewhere to stay, all on top of the ticket price! I get £20 a week for attending college, which I’m so lucky to get, and with it, I have to eat everyday, and buy college books and so on. I have a job, but its closed for winter… How the BBC really think that any person that doesn’t have a spare £200 lying around can even begin to afford this is beyond me.
It’s such a shame.

February 25th, 2012 - 8:17pmI’m travelling from Ireland and spent money on two tickets, money that I barely have but I’ve missed so many conventions due to being very ill and uni exams. There’s no way I’m missing this. The person I bought the other ticket for isn’t going now, so I’m going alone and wasted £104 on a non transferrable ticket. I’d better be getting a bloody good show. I’ve waited too long for this and time is too short on this earth. Shame I won’t get to see the TARDIS set, missed that opportunity to book it. I think the atmosphere of just being there and being back in Cardiff might just be enough tough 🙂
bob
February 23rd, 2012 - 4:47pmheard its £35 a ticket

February 22nd, 2012 - 11:22amDoes anyone know what is happening to the photo shoot and autograph opportunities. I thought I read that people had been refunded and it would be issued on a lottery basis. This kind of convention does not happen very often. If I were a child I would pool birthday and Christmas presies etc. to get there.

February 10th, 2012 - 1:02amSophia Myles[Girl in the Fireplace]says she hopes to be there. To be honest i think it’s very expensive, even more so with the travel unless you live local.I met David Tennant and Catherine Tate last year at ‘Much Ado’,Peter Davison after ‘Legally Blonde’ and Sylvester Mccoy after ‘Little Shop of Horrors. It was more personal and less rushed.Of course, kids want the whole experience but it doesn’t seem totally suitable for them.
gobeavers
February 4th, 2012 - 5:06pmPerhaps its best not for families with children to go as there will be lots of single men wandering around, they are the only ones who can afford those prices and still need to eat for the rest of the month, who will be telling each other about the episode from february 1973 that Jon Pertwee starred in and the Tardis had the 34521-b bolt on the console when it should have been the 34522-c ones. That his cravat was upside down in one shot and that Matt Smith, well he’s no Tom Baker is he. Yawn. Just hit em where it hurts, stop buying the magazines and leave the toys on the shelves.

February 2nd, 2012 - 1:35amI very much like David Tennant as my very best Dr who person but it Looks rather Expensive for the Tickets indeed Don’t you think for £25 at Least anyway!p.s. I do Like to call him my very best friend that is if he doe’s *(NOT) mind o.k.! oh! by the way, he is are

February 1st, 2012 - 3:01pmTo be fair its the families with kids that are complaining, not individuals, its a family day out that will cost you £400+ with travel etc if you have 2 children – a lot more than the box set you refer to
Farsighted
February 1st, 2012 - 1:52amHonestly, I don’t get why you all think it’s so expensive. It’s not much more than a box set. You can get to see a lot of the people who work on the show, the man who plays the current Doctor, and others from the cast and production team, and if you book early enough you can go to visit the actual TARDIS set. What other Who Con gives you that? I think it’s a Doctor Who fan’s dream. It’s fantastic. There are plenty of other conferences to go to during the year that are great fun and less expensive. And I really don’t think they will be rolling the money in, there aren’t that many seats.

January 21st, 2012 - 6:15pmI was making an observation and i dont need to justify anything
I cant afford to go to it either but there are those who can and plenty of them. That’s life.
Complain to the BBC not me
This is BBC worldwide They are in business to make money.

January 21st, 2012 - 5:58pmI see, Booboo, so that justifies is then does it? At a time when families are struggling to cope and at the same time explain to children why they can’t have the holiday, birthday, Christmas they once had, the BBC dangles their favourite show and character in front of them and racks up the price. Not true to Wales or the people who have been so proud of this production.
