Sarah Jane Adventures – BBC Statement
The Sarah Jane Adventures
From the BBC …
04th May 2011
The BBC confirmed today that following the death of Elisabeth Sladen there are no plans to film further episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Elisabeth Sladen first played the role of Sarah Jane in Doctor Who in 1973 and following her return to the show in 2006, played the eponymous lead in the award-winning CBBC series, The Sarah Jane Adventures, from 2007 onwards.
The full statement regarding the future of the series is below:
Contrary to press reports today we can confirm that no new episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be filmed following the tragic death of actress Elisabeth Sladen in April, 2011. As a tribute to Elisabeth the six episodes that were recorded with her last year will be broadcast on CBBC at a date to be confirmed.”

May 5th, 2011 - 3:02amOf course Sarah Jane is still on Bannerman Road, and the Brig is off on some UNIT business in Peru!
Also,Sherlock Holmes is regaling Watson down on Baker Street and The Doctor is somewhere/when in Time And Space! The greats of fiction are immortal as long as people read and watch!
It’s Nick and Lis and so many others we admire who we shall have to wait to see perform again upon Heaven’s Stage!

May 4th, 2011 - 8:58pmI would like to be able to think that Sarah Jane’s still on Bannerman Road fighting aliens with Clyde and Rani because that’s how we normally would be left to remember things at the end of the series

May 4th, 2011 - 8:18pmThis is a really difficult one, i’m inclined to think they should leave Sahara Jane out there somewhere
Fox Mulder
May 4th, 2011 - 8:03pmCant wait, and yes I think there should be an episode to explain her Onscreen death or dissapearence . Rani,Clyde amd the Doctor could team up to find out what happened to Sarah Jane.

May 4th, 2011 - 7:04pmIt’s good they are going to show the first three episodes in memory of her as it would have been a great shame not to and I think it’s great they’re not replacing her. RIP Lis

May 4th, 2011 - 5:53pmi know that BBC has released this statement to The Sun i’m just saying why can’t the BBC just show the episodes and not rewrite anymore episodes without sarah jane. I’m sorry if i’m being rude but it so tragic that Elisabeth has suddenly gone.

May 4th, 2011 - 5:21pmHmm “Clyde Adventures” sounds good but I think “Jo grant adventures” wouldn’t work. It would be funny If they had “martha jones adventures” or even “rose tyler adventures”.

May 4th, 2011 - 5:08pmI will look at the stats pages and see how many people are still looking
I Love Cybermen
May 4th, 2011 - 5:08pmSad. I understand why but couldn’t they have set up ‘Jo Grant adventures’ or ‘Clyde Adventures’? Ok, might be a little soon…and thereby a little crass but, all the same, this news saddens me greatly.

May 4th, 2011 - 5:07pmI think this is the right way to do it. Maybe do a new spin-off in a few years. I am glad that they are showing the 3 episodes they did. If there was a story arc I am sure they could edit it out.
Maybe what they should do is release the stories they never made should be released on a audio read by one of the cast or novelise it like Target did for the 1985 series.
Dark Side of the Moon
May 4th, 2011 - 4:48pmWell if its the 1st, 2nd and last story that ought to work well. As someone else said, having the last story seems very fitting….so unless there is some crazy story arc that was intended to be referred to in stories 3,4 and 5 then this should work quite nicely as a mini series. I changce SJA fans to say farewell to SJ properly and a tribute to the late great Elisabeth Sladen.

May 4th, 2011 - 4:15pmIn THE SUN newspaper bbc have told that they want to show the last epsiodes of Elisabeth Sladen but they said the rest of the episodes have to be rewitten to explain how sarah jane is not in the rest of the series why cant the BBC just let them show the 6 episodes of Elisabeth Sladen and let the show lie to rest.I don’t think it would work trying to explain where sarah jane is. In my mind that Sarah has gone with the Tenth Doctor travelling in the tardis in space and time. Why Don’t the BBC and i think also Russell T Davies would agree let the fans imaginations run wild where Sarah Jane is Doing to Save the universe or Travelling with the Doctor. Elisabeth Sladen is a true and brillant Actress.

May 4th, 2011 - 4:11pmSo does this mean that there were no season 6 episodes filmed completly?

May 4th, 2011 - 4:08pmIndeed, a fitting tribute to the end of a fantastic Children’s Series, and an absolutely enjoyable Doctor Who Spin-Off since Invasion of the Bane. I was thinking that in the last episode, should the writers have decided to go with the idea of having Sarah suddenly not around, they could have had her suddenly appear infront of K9, Luke, Clyde, Rani and Mr Smith, who turn to the Door leading in and out of the Attic, seeing Sarah Jane, but all we would seen is a body double from behind their head, but i think alot of fan’s wouldint like that idea very much, but im really glad we will get to see Liz’s final day’s as Sarah Jane Smith 😀

May 4th, 2011 - 4:03pmYes agree, i think most people would want it this way

May 4th, 2011 - 4:02pmSo the series 6 episodes that were filmed last year will be shown? I guess that’s a nice fitting tribute 🙂
