The Zygons Return for the 50th Anniversary Special

The Zygons Return for the 50th Anniversary Special

From The Official Site…

We’re delighted to confirm that the Zygons are returning to Doctor Who for the show’s 50th anniversary special.

Aside from flashbacks these malevolent shape-shifters have only appeared once before, threatening Earth in the Fourth Doctor adventure, Terror of the Zygons. Despite the fact that their solitary outing was over thirty years ago they remain a popular old enemy and in the 2010 episode, The Pandorica Opens, they were amongst the massed aliens said to be gathering above Stonehenge. Later, in The Power of Three, we learnt that Zygons had one of their ships under the Savoy Hotel in 1890 and apparently replaced half the staff with imposters! But this time they really are back…

We’ve already confirmed that in the anniversary special Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman will be joined by the returning David Tennant and Billie Piper. Screen legend John Hurt is also in the cast and earlier today we revealed that Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey, The Syndicate) would also be appearing in this eagerly anticipated adventure.

We’ll be brining you more news soon!

Just re-watched Ed Stradling’s interview with Moffat. He was asked “when are we ever going to see the return of the Zygons?” Moffat replies with “Who knows?……..well i know.” Clever *******!

we will DEFINITELY get the Daleks. The question is, which ones? hopefully not the paradigm, i still hate them. If the paradigm do appear, i hope they get destroyed by a special weapons dalek or something….or even better, Davros!
I wish Davros would appear, see the paradigm and have them all exterminated. “your design is inferior! you must be destroyed!”

if it is Trenzalore, they will probably add some CGI to it to make it look more authentic.

I think it’s called ‘The Two Doctors – Yes I know there was one back in 1985 but this is our version!’ By Steven Moffat

This was a joke by the way. 😆

I love the slightly new faces, they make the zygon look more scary, no offence to the actor underneath.

I hope they don’t rehash the 5 Doctors by just throwing in lots of popular enemies and old Doctors.
So far this looks so awesome though

Have we really reached the point where every farm they film on must be the Fields of Trenzalore?

Well apparently some Daleks have been seen on set and it wouldn’t surprise me if they brought the Master back.

His greatest secret is in the series finale, not the 50th special.
