What did You Think of Class Episode 2?

Following the tragic events at the Prom, a devastated Ram isolates himself from the other three as he struggles with his new reality. Desperate to hold himself together on the football pitch, when he thinks he witnesses someone getting skinned alive he’s convinced he’s cracking up.

But when Tanya, Charlie and April are all confronted with the same thing: a horrific, monstrous, skin-peeling dragon, they know that they’re under attack. The gang must pull together to fight against the monster, and try to keep Coal Hill safe.

Watching this was like watching the maggot scenes from Green Death all over again. And I loved and hated every second of it

    MINOR SPOILERS:
I just noticed how on the Coal Hill School sign from DOTD, Ian is credited as Chairman of the Governors, maybe the same Governors that are mentioned in this episode?

Does anyone know what the song from the title sequence is called? It might be really obvious and I’m missing it, but I can’t find it anywhere.

Hello? Is that my fandom calling? It’s back…

Well, that was a lot of blood. This one fealt very X-Filesy. An alien skinning people alive with a guy (SPOILER ALERT) finishing the job. Sure. Why not. Best line of the episode was definitely the headmaster saying “He’s from Ofsted, of course he’s evil”

    Couldn’t agree more…

I completely agree, I loved the show, I was annoyed and sad that they killed off the only present character who had been in doctor who. Great episode tho. I hope that they include more characters from DW as at least cameos.

Yeah the kids from SJA should all be in there 20s by now, but I agree the show needs to find its own identity with fresh new characters.

‘Im more of a classic who guy’ pretty much sums up that comment.

I loved the song beforehand so was very pleased to hear it in the series. I think it fits quite nicely with the premise:

“I’ve been wasting all my time – watching my youth slip away surely is a crime… she don’t know what we do in our spare time. No, she don’t know that we been up all night. We go on and on, and don’t know where we’re gonna end up in the morning.”

The visuals themselves are OK I guess, they have a cool neon thing going on. 🙂

What does everyone think of the title sequence?

  • Jordan Scott

My only complaint is that I really liked the Head Teacher as a character but he got skinned alive, I suppose I’m just used to nobody dying in Doctor Who! 🙁

I freely admit i did not think this would be “my sort of thing” but thoroughly enjoyed both episodes

was surprised at the amount gore but i think we may have got used to hostile aliens killing people to nicely

really looking forward to the rest of the series now

I think they took the gore WAY too far. People getting skinned alive? I feel like I want to vomit.

Also, I just don’t find the characters interesting. Very 2 dimensional. But I am pleased that some people are liking it. I’m just more of a classic Who guy.

I really enjoyed it but hope that little kids didn’t watch it as it was gory as hell – like really horrifying! I prefer the first episode but they were both really good!

I do kind of wish that Rani would turn up as a teacher in the series…

    Disgusting.

As they said, Coal Hill has the habit of blocking stuff out like that given the high body count.

Bringing in the SJA team is about the worst thing they could do. The show needs its own identity, not to be as a knock off version of another show.

Loved this! Miss Quill and Charley are brilliant! Great job on getting Katherine Kelly and Greg Austin in on this BBC! I like the more mature side and how it is mixed with the humour, each element doesn’t feel over or understated and instead the gore/maturity and humour compliment each other nicely.

I liked the people being skinned alive and nudity but I couldn’t help but think where are the police or even bring back Torchwood? Won’t somebody notice loads of students and staff being killed?

I like Miss Quill and I can see a very nice story arc in making with who are the governors?

This would’ve been a perfect series for the 3 kids that were in the SJA to get involved in.
