Doctor Who – What Did You Think of Hide?

What Did You Think of Hide?

Clara and the Doctor arrive at Caliburn House, a haunted mansion sat alone on a desolate moor.

Within its walls, a ghost-hunting professor and a gifted psychic are searching for the Witch of the Well. Her apparition appears throughout the history of the building, but is she really a ghost? And what is chasing her?

Now that the 4th episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

Every dr who story needs a villian. Stories like curse of the blackspot were terrible beacasuse they lack a proper villian

There doesn’t need to be a villain for a story to be great, look at The Girl Who Waited or The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances! Those were both brilliant pieces of work, with no villains. Monsters, maybe, but certainly not villains.

i have no problem with matt or steven, even though the barbie doll in cold war pushed it. i have a problem with the new story lines. where was the villain in hide? why couldn’t it just be a whole alien ghost story? they do over complicate things, like clara.

I was enjoying this episode so kuch until STOCK FOOTAGE I probably would not mind if it wasn’t from about 15mins earlier in the episode, I found it almost embarresing.

I’m still collecting my thoughts, I thought the episode was a great and terrifying ghost story, with moments that made me terrified. This is on par with Asylum of the Daleks, The Curse of Fenric, Blink, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Resurrection of the Daleks, Tomb of the Cybermen, and The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon as far as scariness goes. However, I’m not sure if the ending is really good or really bad. I’ll have to watch it again to see.

I think what fans need to understand is Doctor Who isn’t all about David Tennant or RTD or the Classic Series. If Doctor Who’s about one thing, it’s change. The Doctor regenerates and a new actor takes over, the companions come and go, and the writers and executive producers come, add their ideas and episodes into the mix, and leave. Even the main monsters evolve. In summary, Doctor Who is a constantly changing show, and if you don’t like change, Doctor Who is not the show for you.

I noticed two interesting things about Clara in this episode:
She said 11 again(she said it in TBOSJ, about chapter 11)and she mentioned a big chin like in AOTD.

no, opinions differ and every one has the right to their own views

Some people are not getting on with the new series whilst others are over the moon

It boils down to personal preference

The new series is very dissapointing so far. As was this episode. I cannot stand Matt Smith’s doctor and I wish David Tennant would come back for like a reverse regeneration :/ Also I’d like Russell T Davies back thank-you very much. Steven Moffat you have ruined such great TV

I really don’t think it’s a big issue that he pronounced it wrong. I wasn’t that dirfferent from normal, I didn’t blink at all when I heard it, I just enjoyed hearing it. Maybe actually it was Pertwee’s doctor who was pronouncing it wrong and he recently just learnt the proper pronunciation of it!
