Doctor Who – What Did You Think of Hide?

What Did You Think of Hide?

Clara and the Doctor arrive at Caliburn House, a haunted mansion sat alone on a desolate moor.

Within its walls, a ghost-hunting professor and a gifted psychic are searching for the Witch of the Well. Her apparition appears throughout the history of the building, but is she really a ghost? And what is chasing her?

Now that the 4th episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

it’s still good. I enjoy the episodes it’s just now an again it gets really complicated. It’s not so bad this series but series 6 was terrible for it. We’ve just got a writer who likes complicated plots. But his plots are genius. He just needs to explain them a bit more.

    My ratings:
    Asylum: 3/10
    Dinosaurs: 3/10
    Town Called Mercy: 2/10
    Power of Three: 6/10
    Angels Take Manhatten: 9/10
    Snowmen: 5/10
    Bells: 4/10
    Akhaten: 2/10
    Cold War: 8/10
    Hide: 9/10

Really haven’t enjoyed this series but the last two episodes for me have been brilliant, especially Hide. Looking forward to the rest of the series, especially the Diana Rigg episode and the new Cybermen. Neil Gaiman’s a great writer, I’m sure he’ll do brilliantly 🙂

Aside from the ending of this story, I think Doctor Who is doing fantastically right now, and judging by the season so far, the 50th Anniversery looks to be fantastic!

Sorry, meant to say “what happened previously”

I totally agree. It would’ve been fine if they just cut the last 3 minutes. It ruined the terror the episode gives, and makes no sense in terms of what happened next. It feels like some hack taped that on the end of a great story just to ruin it. Neil Cross did a good job with The Rings of Akhaten, I thought, but he majorly failed on the ending here.

What about the mystery of the Doctor’s name? Or who Clara is? I think the RTD era had the whole “too much love” problem. The Doctor fell in love with Rose, his companions fell in love with him, and Jack fell in love with anyone and anything. If anything, I think they’ve solved this problem.

I’ve been watching even before the resurrection because my Dad has alot of videos and DVD’s of Classic stories, and I think Doctor Who is doing great right now.

Sounds interesting. If they’re bringing back lots of Troughton era monsters this season, it would be interesting to have one of his companions return.

Bring back jamie.Set after the war games and after culloden. He,s old but has a wife, two sons, daughter and grandchild. He,the doctor and clara battle an alien menace in the highlands.kill jamie off and give him a good highland send off. have his son join the tardis crew for a new generation. What do you think?

why,ll the stories from this season are fine for younger kids (the exception being the excellent’angels take manhattan’,it does seem like stven moffat is losing his way a bit.Wheres the real tensin and scares of old.Thy should use the hinchliffe era as a template for good scary who. Also i do think they should consider going back to two parter cliffhangers for the full next series.

I’ve been watching since the beginning of the reboot and I’m in America so I’m pretty sure it isn’t dumbed down for us. It’s Moffat having no direction of where he wants to go. Tennants years were amazing because of Tennant and RTD.

Yes, the 11th Doctor doesn’t care about his companions, that’s why he cried and even went into retirement over Amy and Rory’s death. He’s just become more alien again. My problem with the 10th Doctor is that he seems to have convinced people that the Doctor needs to act human.

Doctor Who can be fantastic without villains. There were no real villains in The Girl Who Waited, and that episode was a masterpiece!

I liked Asylum of the Daleks, it might be my favorite Series 7 episode so far.

Outnumbered?? Don’t you remember? Cold War had 2 deaths!! When the ice warrior ripped the two boys apart to examine them?? So they didn’t show the dead bodies,

What has seriously gone wrong with who’s episode: Hide!

The acting and special effects are always world class, but the direction, script and overall arc left me very cold and somewhat disappointed, much like having all the ingredients for a cake that somehow wasn’t cooked right and left a bad taste in one’s mouth. Here we encountered a wonderful scary ghost story turned sci fi, turned love story, well you get the point. The focus was lost. The characters of clarion oswald oswin (maybe a physical emination of the tardis itself) was not developed and the doctor was all over the shop. After the rings episode that frankly was abysmal, is it the end for who? It all starts with the writing and writers knowing the who universe. Clara by now should have been more developed. maybe they dumbed it down for the American audience? The Tenant years were a dream come true and early Mat Smith, perfect. The Cold War left me cold and the ice warrior would have been more convincing leaving the earth alone if the Doctor simply stated ” we found you down there, who knows how many more of you are down there” leaving the arc for future episode development, rather than begging for mercy. I did not know clara could fly the tardis into a pocket universe. Clever girl. All in all I hope it picks up in speed, script and character development. If not, it may be delegated to another 20 year hiatus.
