What Did You Think of The Bells of Saint John?
What Did You Think of The Bells of Saint John?
The Doctorβs search for Clara Oswald brings him to modern day London, where wifi is everywhere. Humanity lives in a wifi soup.
But something dangerous is lurking in the signals, picking off minds and imprisoning them.
As Clara becomes the target of this insidious menace, the Doctor races to save her and the world from an ancient enemy.
Now that the 1st episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 8:29pmI’m not trying to be rude, but I found a mistake. When the Doctor comes out with the Anti-Grav motorbike, he didn’t close the TARDIS doors and they remained open, but a moment later when the man took a picture of the woman in front of the TARDIS, the doors were closed.
Matt smithy
March 30th, 2013 - 8:38pmclicked his fingers off screen? unlikley, but I like to try and think of reasons to fix errors that arn’t impossibal π
Boodleoo
March 30th, 2013 - 8:46pmSaw that and thought exactly the same thing Matt Smithy π
The TARDIS
March 30th, 2013 - 8:57pmAlso, when the Doctor puts Clara in the bed, he puts the jammie dodger at the bottom of the pile and then when it goes to a wide shot, it’s on the top.
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 9:00pmPerhaps the TARDIS closes its doors automatically now?
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 9:06pmMaybe mistakes like these are part of the storyline? Maybe, out there there is a huge,mistake-making monster that ruins films?
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 9:06pmJust joking!

March 30th, 2013 - 9:52pmWhat about when Clara was running about with that cup of tea she must have tilted upside down about 20 times and not a drop came out but when they are back in the tardis she drinks it ?
Big Noo
March 31st, 2013 - 11:27amI didn’t understand how the Doctor knew to go to the shard since when she discovered where they were he wasn’t there and she was uploaded by the time he was. The next scene you see is him heading for the shard. How dd he know ?
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 31st, 2013 - 2:34pmYou’re right, Anonymous, I saw that too, and Big Noo, I think he looked on Clara’s computer? Just a guess.
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 8:22pmI think the leaf-being-page-one thing is a very important clue for the mystery of Clara Oswald, any theories?
P.S. I forgot to mention, I’m new here, as in commenting, I’ve followed this site for a long time now.

March 30th, 2013 - 8:47pmThere looks to be another one as it is seen in the rings of akhaten poster

March 30th, 2013 - 8:55pmHmm, interesting!
Coming Full Circle
March 30th, 2013 - 9:57pmReference to her death? From David Tennant and Billie Piper’s universe?
Dr who
March 31st, 2013 - 1:09pmThe leaf has three gains like split…..maybe clara is like that leaf spilt across time from the same girl until something happened to her

April 4th, 2013 - 7:27pmPage one…the guy who created Doctor Who was Canadian.
The TARDIS
March 30th, 2013 - 8:00pmWhat do you think of the episode booboo?
booboo
March 30th, 2013 - 8:02pmOK, some nice dialogue but not one of my favourites if i’m honest
The TARDIS
March 30th, 2013 - 8:03pmI agree, I think it put set pieces above the story. I hope the series picks up soon.
Jean
March 30th, 2013 - 8:00pmThis episode was really bad. Full of plot holes and the way the doctor acted was really annoying. Oh, how I miss 9 and 10.

MORLU
March 30th, 2013 - 7:39pmThis episode didn’t do much for me. The story was very average and it didn’t progress the characters very much at all. Mat and Jenna were great and did their best with what they had but the episode lacked in substance.
stewie
March 30th, 2013 - 8:03pmI liked it a little bit, however the airplane scene could’ve lasted a little longer, and the doctor only confronted the enemy for a few minutes. hopefully the next episode will have a good storyline π
Moxx of Who
March 30th, 2013 - 7:34pmA brilliant episode to start off this fantastic looking series! Loved that it was back in London and the story made sense. Next week looks great to!
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 7:33pmWho else wondered who ‘the woman in the shop’ was? How did she know about the Doctor. It must’ve been someone who knew the TARDIS number. She might be a descendent of Winston Churchill, as he knew the TARDIS number.

Doctor Stu
March 30th, 2013 - 7:46pmCould have been Sally Sparrow. Just a hunch I’ve only seen snippets of the episode I haven’t seen it all yet
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 8:17pmThat’s a very good idea, booboo, I wonder why I didn’t think about her?

Ellen Black
March 31st, 2013 - 10:47amBut remember, it was the outside phone that rang, not the inside phone. In 1×09 ‘The Empty Child’, the outside phone rings, and Nine says ‘Well, if you know so much, tell me this. How can it be ringing? It’s not even a real phone. It’s not connected.’ How did Clara get through to an unconnected phone?
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 31st, 2013 - 2:37pmGood point, Ellen, I think that she unknowingly hacked into the outside phone, and maybe her hacking skills passed onto Dalek Oswin.
Dr Who Who
March 30th, 2013 - 7:32pmAmazing, Loved everyminite of this episode. Loved the appearence of UNIT, the great intelligence and the hole London feel, truly one of the best episodes in a long while.

March 30th, 2013 - 7:31pmGreat start to the series, new assistant is ace, no pun intended, Bow tie box was my favourite bit along with the jammy dodger, and yes bow ties are cool.
Keep it up loved it.
Scott the Raptor
March 30th, 2013 - 7:51pmNo they’re not cool.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 30th, 2013 - 8:02pmBow Ties are LAME π
Scott the Raptor
March 30th, 2013 - 8:04pmAgreed π
Mat in Swansea
March 30th, 2013 - 8:43pmAgreed Jim, great start. And bow ties are cool for the doctor, not you mere mortals.
Scott the Raptor
March 30th, 2013 - 8:47pmWe are more than mortals, we are humans, brilliant, important, clever humans. Bow ties aren’t cool.
Mat in Swansea
March 30th, 2013 - 8:52pmSpeak for yourself Scott, I may possibly be human but I’m not very clever or at all important. Especially in a cosmic sense – just a speck of irrelevant dust. As are we all. And maybe a bow tie wouldn’t suit you, but it is sooooooo cool on the doctor.
Mortimer
March 31st, 2013 - 9:59amFact: Bow ties are cool
Fact: Fezzes are also cool
Anonymous
April 3rd, 2013 - 12:26pmLol Mat, The Doctor is a fictional character who was created by the BBC. Speak for yourself Mat, but bow ties aren’t cool.

April 3rd, 2013 - 9:59pmBOW TIES ARE COOL!! STOP DISSING THEM π
matt9982
March 30th, 2013 - 7:27pmHas anyone noticed that the current Clara has become a computer genius just like the future Clara. Possibly a new gene passed down to the future Clara?
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 8:51pmOh, yeah!
Coming Full Circle
March 30th, 2013 - 10:00pmYeah I agree, the first time that the Doctor meets her will be the last time she’ll see him. Possibly when she became a Dalek or prior to that she forgot about the Doctor? Or she was hiding it from the Doctor to save him from pain, suffering and revealing his future with her?

March 30th, 2013 - 7:17pmWell anything is better than this episode!
joe
March 30th, 2013 - 8:32pmhow do you know this? have you seen the episode? for all we know, Journey to the Centre of The TARDIS could be a terrible episode.
Anonymous
March 30th, 2013 - 7:16pmI really enjoyed this episode. it was everything I wanted from doctor who
Stevan Moffat you have really outdone yourself this time well done π
P.S I hope the daleks return
Coming Full Circle
March 30th, 2013 - 10:04pmIt’s going to inevitable for the Daleks to return because we have to know possibly how the first time the Doctor met Clara she was a Dalek, and possibly an explanation of how she lost her memories of him (that’s just me assuming that the future Clara will be wiped of her memories of her travels with the Doctor).
The TARDIS
March 30th, 2013 - 7:15pmI loved this episode, the story was very clever and funny, the 45 minutes whisked by like a ride up the Shard! Unfortunately, the resolution was way too rushed, and Clara’s ongoing story is beginning to feel a bit too contrived. Jenna-Louise Coleman has continued to impress however, and the shots of London gave it a real feeling of freshness. The relationship between the two leads has grown immensely, and I look forward to seeing it advance.
7/10
The TARDIS
March 30th, 2013 - 7:17pmFailed of course to mention the stunning performance from Celia Imrie, and the reveal of the Great Intelligence which hints towards a greater story unfolding. Some good we pieces of music by Murray Gold as well.

March 30th, 2013 - 7:14pmMost disappointing Dr Who ever

March 30th, 2013 - 7:57pmI so agree! This episode was really disappointing!

March 30th, 2013 - 8:45pmYaaaawwwwnnnn….
Colin Buckley
March 31st, 2013 - 12:29amGive it a 6.7
Matt Burnett
March 30th, 2013 - 7:13pmThe episode isn’t working for me! The opening credit – specifically the Tardis-doors-opening-to-reveal-the-episode part – is awful: the idea is twee and 80’s and the execution itself was from a 1995 home video editing package. The Tardis seems characterless now, quite cold, and The Doctor seems to be almost irritating in his manic attitude! The new outfit is awful, the musical director needs shooting and the whole thing seems to be trying too hard whereas before it was exciting and charming. I hope this was a one-off blip!
This is gallifrey, our childhood, our home
March 30th, 2013 - 7:39pmthe person who wrote the music was a certain MURRAY GOLD who wrote all of the other Who music from 2005, a genius no less!

March 30th, 2013 - 7:10pmGreat start to the new series. Matt and Jenna were amazing, Celia Imrie was great as well. Bring on next week.

March 30th, 2013 - 7:08pmLoved the 70s credits although it should have been a two parter
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 30th, 2013 - 7:11pmSadly mate, no 2 parters this series.
TheDoctorGallifrey
March 30th, 2013 - 8:48pmI agree it should be a 2-parter too! The solution was too quick! But overall, it was a good episode, I liked the Great Intelligence twist and the Doctor’s spoonhead ‘motivation’!
Dalek Jake
March 30th, 2013 - 7:08pmSo many brilliant things about this episode: the book by Amelia Williams, The Doctor epically riding up the shard and that nice twist with the Great Intelligence which I wasn’t expecting!
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 30th, 2013 - 7:10pmThat was not the Doctor, it turned out to be a Spoonhead.

March 30th, 2013 - 7:06pmGood episode, good to see the fez again!

March 30th, 2013 - 7:10pmActually, it was the Great Intelligence, just using his face to communicate with that woman.
