What Did You Think of The Bells of Saint John?
What Did You Think of The Bells of Saint John?
The Doctorβs search for Clara Oswald brings him to modern day London, where wifi is everywhere. Humanity lives in a wifi soup.
But something dangerous is lurking in the signals, picking off minds and imprisoning them.
As Clara becomes the target of this insidious menace, the Doctor races to save her and the world from an ancient enemy.
Now that the 1st episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

April 6th, 2013 - 9:01pmvery good story my favourite eleventh r story yet
rycbar123
April 5th, 2013 - 7:24amWait, now that I’m thinking about it, Clara technically didn’t die in AOTD. She was converted into a dalek, she didn’t get killed. *Sigh* I guess that’s how time works from now on. Timey wimey, timey wimey,…
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
April 6th, 2013 - 11:39amtrue, but when the asylum was attacked by the missiles she definitely did die.
rycbar123
April 5th, 2013 - 7:13amI liked it. It was different than the other 11th doctor episodes, but change is what holds Doctor Who alive, doesn’t it? Also, I think Clara is a fixed point in the time vortex. Not in time (like Jack Harckness), but in the time vortex. Everytie she dies, there wil pop up another version of her somewhere in the Whoniverse.

RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
April 3rd, 2013 - 6:39pmClara Theory!
I think she has had her mind wiped of the Doctor. It is obvious that the Clara we saw in TBOFSJ is the backbone for the others, hence the rycbar and Nina. I think she gets dispersed over time in the hope she doesn’t meet the Doctor again, but I think she gradually remembers, which is why she keeps repeating to the Doctor: Run you clever boy, and remember. I think the missing word is ‘Me.’ Run you clever boy, and remember me.
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
April 3rd, 2013 - 6:40pmI think she is trying to remind the Doctor to save her or go back for her.
xylok emperor
April 2nd, 2013 - 3:23pmanyone else pick up on the fact that ages 16 and 23 were missing from the ‘101 places to see’ book. could these be how old she was in the AOTD

April 4th, 2013 - 1:45pmYes, because in AOTD she was a junior entertainment manager. Does that mean that shes younger?

Mike
April 1st, 2013 - 7:43pmHave you noticed that Steven Moffat stories are always the ones that get better with multiple viewings. Watching the second time and more you get to appreciate the quality of the writing, the sly nods and clues, the shear beauty of the story structure and the nuances of the great acting by all the actors involved particularly the leads. Doctor Who is a total pleasure to watch on so many levels.
Elbonannod
April 1st, 2013 - 10:45pmI agree with that 100%!
Mike
April 2nd, 2013 - 5:08pmThank you donnanoble (elbonannod).

April 4th, 2013 - 8:46pmNo. As I watched more The Bells of Saint Johns, the story seemed to get worse.
the doctor
April 1st, 2013 - 4:57pmThe Epiosde was Fantastic and Epic. A Best bit from it was when the Doctor used the Antigrav Motorbike and drove up the Shard! It reminded me of The Idiots Lantern as it had faces (Well head and shoulders) in the TV’s. I think that The Great Intelligence could be the New Wire.
9/10
THE ERGON
April 2nd, 2013 - 1:00pmThats the first thing i thought having seen it was the comparison with the idiots lantern. ‘the wire- now updated to wi-fi. Also the doctors passing remark that monks aren,t cool. was that a swipe and a wink to ‘the meddling monk, i wonder.
Dalek Jake
April 1st, 2013 - 4:40pmI just read on wikipedia (Don’t know whether its true or not) that Alex Kingston will appear as River Song in the series 7 finale.

April 1st, 2013 - 1:17pmNow Clara has died a number of times – do you think it reminds you of anyone?
Captain Jack for instance? Could she be a face of beau race ??
joe
April 1st, 2013 - 4:14pmcaptain jack was only immortal after he was brought back to life in the parting of the ways after he was killed by a dalek. nothing to do with his race
Space Fish
April 1st, 2013 - 6:21pmRory turns out to be captin jack and has eaten a horsemeat burger. Twitter goes mental

April 1st, 2013 - 12:18pmAmy! Amy! Amy! Amy!
Anyone see that she wrote that book, Summer Falls? It said that it was written by Amelia Williams! Wow!
Also, I think the Woman in the shop has to be River. It might seem obvious, but, ya know. Or maybe it could be the Doctor’s mother, from the end of time? But I think she won’t be coming back to be honest…
Who was that woman…
Anonymous
April 1st, 2013 - 11:27amEveryones saying that it was a copy of idiots lantern (which I agree with, what with trapped people and moterbikes) but I think its more of a copy of partners in crime, which is the reason I think the woman in the shop was rose.
TheDoctorGallifrey
April 1st, 2013 - 11:23amThere should be a bow-tie-in-a-box collectors item! Any other ideas for products?

April 1st, 2013 - 2:19pmYeah I agree
Skaroman
April 1st, 2013 - 10:42amThis may only be a theory, but I may have understood what the leaf meant.
Doctor Who began on the 23rd November, right?
November is Autumn time, and the leaf is probably from the Autumn. Plus Clara says that it is Chapter 1: The beginning of Doctor Who!! π
Scott the Raptor
April 1st, 2013 - 10:48amWow! I would never have come up with that! You, sir, are a genius!

March 31st, 2013 - 11:59pmThis episode was well structured,unlike the first half.
KayNine
March 31st, 2013 - 8:28pmJust a thought, but could the ‘Women in the shop’ be the Doctors Daughter? Sure we will see her again at some point in timey wimey. I first thought about River Song, but I reckon that would be too obvious.
Go easy lads and lasses, first time poster N’arrl that π
wut
March 31st, 2013 - 10:03pmShe’s not coming back. There’s been no reference from anyone involved with the show since that episode about whether she would come back apart from when somebody randomly asked Matt Smith it at the 2010 Comic-Con. I think the fact is that Moffat doesn’t want her back so she won’t be back.
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
March 31st, 2013 - 10:25pmi think she should come back as… i just think she should!
Risistance is useless
March 31st, 2013 - 11:50pmMaybe it’s Susan π
the traffic warden
March 31st, 2013 - 11:59pmI think ‘the women in the shop’ is river song, also did any one spot that the book the young lad was reading ‘summer falls’ was written by Amila Williams AKA amy pond????
The Flying Shark
March 31st, 2013 - 7:31pmThat was okay, the opening was awful, the monk bit was unneeded, but after that, it got better. Celia Imrie was the best thing about it.
MasterKasterborous
March 31st, 2013 - 11:54pmI thought it worked quite well and created a sense of a new start. Also it follows nicely on from the prequel.
