Why!? Vera was my favourite character-she was the only one who really knew how to deal with it-“we’re doing this all wrong. Treat the minor injuries first. Anyone who you can get out of here in 15 minutes, get them out!”

Unfortunately, at the halfway mark, the series is still moving slowly. But I think I know why-each episode is given two plot points that it must feature and that is all that really happens. ep 1: introduce the miracle, tell Torchwood they are off to America whilst getting rid of Rhys. ep 2:get them to America, get Esther into the mix. ep3: give Vera and Rex a relationship to get Gwen inside phi-corp, ep 4: get phi-corp’s computer, get Gwen’s dad into an overflow camp. ep 5: get inside the overflow camp, kill off vera. it all moves very slowly.

Why are people complaining about no sfi or aliens, if there were aliens in episode one then the whole story would be found out way to early. Remember it’s a 10 parter so stay tuned chances are we will see aliens just not so soon.

    P.S i do miss the aliens 🙂

I agree – it saddens me when DW shows dont work…or stop workings. However, IMO RTD was starting to lose his ‘flare’ for Sci-Fi when he still had the DW job…the Specials were awful (IMO) and with regards to TW….well I struggle to understand how he has gone from the amazing Children of Earth to this dross of a series. I’ll even go one step further becuase I dont even like Barrowman and Myles in this series…they both seem to be overplaying their characters…not sure if thats for the benefit of the American audience but its really starting to irritate me.

I feel this will be the last TW series.

TYPO CORRECTION: The show serioulsy needs to pick up pace…

First of all I love Torchwood. In fact I’ve followed everything ‘whovian’ from an early age, not for the sake of it but because the quality of the concepts. From the programmes beginnings I’ve followed the ‘dept’s’ adventures evermore amazed with the programmes levels, depth and stories, but enough is enough, it’s time to say when the Emperor is wearing no clothes. I’ve just watched episode 5 and I am now officially bored! I even left the room at one stage to do something without putting on pause. You don’t know how gutted this makes me, but apart from the amazing Barrowman and Myles could someone please tell me what makes this Torchwood? If it drags along any slower it’ll make a trench deep and long enough to put all the category 1’s in!!!

But this is what RTD said about the new series … ‘Torchwood was a team of people whose job was to investigate the unusual, the strange and the extraterrestrial. However, they were destroyed – so that team is no more. This series shows a whole new team and a whole new coming together. It’s an old religion that’s brought back to life.’ … I’m afraid I’m not seeing any of the old religion here, as I said ‘Children Of Earth’ had worn out the edge of my seat and the carpet below, had my jaw open, and finished leaving me gagging for more by now! this is the fifth episode and nothing material has happened!

Nope…still not getting it. WHERE IS THE SCI-FI?

The show seriously pick up pace – we’re half way through now.

I have to agree, but this also puts us at the halfway mark of the series!!

And , in the typical fashion of Torchwood, someone is killed off unexpectedly! (Yes supposedly no one dies, but…. On 2nd thought, I won’t even hint that much further since I know the majority of you haven’t seen it yet!!

(For a change, it’s REALLY good to be an American…..except for our Congress of course LOL)
