What Did You Think of Doctor Who – Cold War?
The Doctor and Clara land on a damaged Russian Submarine in 1983 as it spirals out of control into the ocean depths.
An alien creature is loose on board, having escaped from a block of Arctic ice. With tempers flaring and a cargo of nuclear weapons on board, it’s not just the crew but the whole of humanity at stake!
Now that the 3rd episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

April 14th, 2013 - 7:02pmIn my opinion, the only word I can use to describe “Cold War” is BRILLIANT. I had never seen an episode with the Ice Warrior before, and I thought Skaldak was awesome and at some moments freaky, like when his hands came down from the ceiling.
I also loved the theme of the episode; it was in a submarine! The episode has made me more interested in them now. Anyway, the only thing I was dissapointed in was that I thought Clara would get lost/trapped in the submarine and The Doctor trying to find her, but oh well, the episode was still fantastic! 😀 10/10

But personally, I think they ruined it when they revealed the actual Martian creature…

April 14th, 2013 - 5:03pmalso, when the spaceship came all the humans didn’t marvel much over it, and they didn’t even watch to see it fly away! also, the crew could still have russian accents, and the doctor can call the TARDIS via the sonic.

Therefore, during 1984, Iron Maiden began to play “Behind The Iron Curtain” through the Eastern Bloc, at the Height of the Cold War. Playing in, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Hungary, becoming the first major Western band to do so.

Okay Gatiss, it was scary the first time, you were pushing it the 2nd time, now it just looks silly.
But the bare Ice Warrior face, I thought , was creepy.
However, atleast the hands looked alien, they were long and only had two fingers, they don’t look like gloves, you know ? 😉

April 14th, 2013 - 3:24pmI’m scared that 2014 will be another 2012, it will feel empty and pointless, like “Where do we go after that AMAZING last chapter ?” They will have to take Matt’s Doctor in a radical new direction, don’t try to out-perform the previous chapter, just try something different, maybe something slower ❓

April 14th, 2013 - 3:23pmI thought the CG face looked great, how lame would it have been to just see those cheap prosphetic hands that everyone says are so “Delightfully fake like classic Doctor Who”
I resent that statement, classic who may have looked foney at times but they ALWAYS tried to be as convincing and wierd as possible, 21st century who should never try to be fake on purpose ❗

April 14th, 2013 - 3:21pmI agree, the start was even more rushed than Dinosaurs on a spaceship. You have the Doctor yelling, the russians yelling, clara yelling, and camera shaking, a barbie doll, water gushing in all over the place.etc
I said to my dad “I can’t get a word out of this.” Infact, all I could make out was “Viva Las Vegas !”

The arms should’ve been the only part of its body that it visible when it takes off its armour. Also, as 3) you should add that the ending was similar to that of the power of three: he has a long conversation with this creature and then the rest is piece of cake. It would be an improvement if the ice warrior dies but the doctor finds out that he is still alive once he leaves the sub- or something like that.
