THAT EYE PATCH WOMAN APPEARED AGAIN! HER NAME IS APPARENTLY KOVARIAN. She freaks me out so bad. Imagine bumping into her and you hear her say CALM, JUST STAY CALM! She is probably going to appear in A Good Man goes to War and have something to do with the cliffhanger. I think she has something to do with that mysterious woman in The End of Time Part 2. We will just have to wait and see.

    About Lucy Saxon/Regenerating girl.

Actually we think she could be Lucy Saxon as a child.

Didn’t The Master say in The Sound of Drums, that he wanted to understand the Doctor’s fascination with humans so he married one. Or something said along those lines.

Which rules out Lucy Saxon being able to regenerate

Sydney Wade -Young Lucy Saxon / Cole

From IMDB. Sydney Wade plays the regenerating little girl.

Lucy Saxon is the Masters wife.

Girl regenerating must be Masters daughter.

If you mix up Idris ,you get Disir which phonetically sounds like Desire .She desires to bite his neck.

Also the first part of her name is Id . The id is the set of uncoordinated instinctual trends; Wikipedia.

What i personally think the reason people don’t like this episode is because last weeks was so complicated people were ready to work a lot of stuff out but no, this episode was a very relaxed episode and so not at all complicated. But god i wanted to see a silent.

I think I have a theory about the end of Day Of The Moon… Jeferson (The little girl.) is Amy’s daughter but a confirmed theory on another website is that River Song is Amy’s daughter. So for Amy to have a time lord child say The Doctor or River gets shot and either pour the regeneration imto Amy and her child ACA: River becomes time lord and it sort of goes round in acircle.

    Feel free to disagree.

Well then, if the doctor and amy have a child aka the little girl and river is amys daughter then if the doctor is rivers father then river fancies love and kisses her dad like there is no tomorrow

      May 9th, 2011 - 3:52pm

      1. I didn’t understand a word of that.
      2. The Doctor would be more of an uncle/godfather to Amy’s child because she is married to Rory therefore RORY is the father.

Fraid i didint enjoy this one. The only thing i really liked was Amy just doing Pirates of the Caribbean [ keeped on expecting Johnny Depp to turn up as Captain Jack Sparrow himself . . . . SAVVY !! 😀 ].

Lily Cole’s Siren wasint even scary, i doubt she frighted many Children, just keeped making silly faces as far as im concerned, she didint even say a thing [ well, atleast she keeped herself quiet, unlike the Silence who clearly didint live up to their name ].

Thank god theres and Ood this coming Saturday, they are sure scary when they get possessed, and are a real fan favorite for many.

I thought this episode was a refreshing change from the over complex timey whimy episodes that Moffatt insists on dominating his version of Who.

I liked the ending and the Pirates left to plunder all of space. Maybe an origin of sorts to the Troughton Space Pirates episode?

Yeah it was relaxing to not have to “study” the episode and just be entertained , which is what the episodes are sometimes all about. Loved it!

      May 7th, 2011 - 11:33pm

I am so happy SM is enforcing his version of Who on us….it was much needed after the tripe of DT/RTDs last couple of years. DW is a bout a alien time traveller and I welcome every second of timey wimey stuff…BUT…that said, I agree you cant have ‘full on’ episodes, every week…so as Alex said, it was nice to watch something your didnt have to study. IMO, this was a throw away episode that will bearly be remembered but rather enjoyable – 6/10

funny you should talk about the Troughton pirates…did you take a close look at the actor playing McGrath, the first pirate to be taken? His name is Carl McCrystal, but with the addition of some black hair, he would look a great deal like Patrick Troughton’s Doctor…there’s a possibility for a great crossover episode….!

Actually Steven Moffat wants to move away from coplicated series arcs (although no doubt individual stories will still have it), his plan is have less episodes every year which connect into the main storyline, last year he could only do it with one (Amy’s Choice) but this year he has got the number up to three (Curse of the Black Spot, The Doctor’s Wife and Mark Gatiss’ episode).

I loved this episode. Another twist which made the ending , really lovely. The Siren (Lily Cole) was very beautiful and I loved the fluid singing. Bring on the next episode which could be a turning point for The Doctor. I hope to see River-song soon but I believe she only stars in two-parters.

I thought this episode was going to be good, you can’t go wrong with pirates, right?… wrong. it was probably the worst episode of the last 6 series, weak story, Amy being a pirate was cringeworthy, the 1700’s captain accepted spaceage tech very well, the Doctor was’nt much use in it,compare it with ‘Blink”Dalek’or
the unquiet dead,it really was just a black spot, I thought Who was going to sharper, darker and clever under Moffet, not happening, must do better.

Not sure what you’ve been watching this evening but it certainly wasnt Dr Who ! This WAS a sharp, well executed, predominantly ‘stand alone’ ep that was there for the light relief and entertainment of the viewer. Something that it acheived on every level. It served as what it was, a chance for the viewer to catch their breath after a very hard hitting opening 2 parter. Far from “Could do better”,this was a well timed ep, keep it coming Mr Moffet !

The wonderful thing about DW is we al have completley different ideas about what makes DW good….I thought the first two episodes were the best DW I ever seen (and I’ve been watching since 1978)…last nights was just an adventure story…forgetable but rather enjoyable. For me DW needs more timey wimey stuff otherwise the show could be about any old adventurer.
