November 24th, 2013 - 1:16amEpisode was awesome. Just a few questions though.
1) Why did john hurt regenerate, he wasn’t injured or dying?
2) Since he didn’t use the moment but forgot what happened when he got into his tardis again what did he think happened to gallifrey and the daleks?
3) is john hurt now number 9 (I think he is as he earned the title by the end)
4) was the curator a future form of the doctor?
videogamemad00
November 24th, 2013 - 1:36am1) Just old age, like Hartnell’s Doctor.
2) He thinks he used the moment to destroy Gallifrey.
3) Yes
4) Unknown, but it sounded like it, or possibly just an older 4th Doctor?

November 24th, 2013 - 1:45am3) No. Hurt’s doctor was a halfway house regen brought on by those women from Night of the Doctor.

November 24th, 2013 - 12:18amLoved it. I didn’t stop smiling from start to finish. Great chemistry between the 3 docs. Fab to see the next doc included, and Tom Baker! !!! Cant wait for xmas special.

November 24th, 2013 - 12:13amThe 50th was “alright” with Tom but I loved the “Adventure in space and time”, especially the moment with Bill and Verity being there for each other …. Peter Davison’s comedy with Colin,Sylvester and Peter Jackson had me and my lads splitting our sides with laughter…..

November 24th, 2013 - 12:07amAwesome. Just loved it. I’ve been a fan for forty years and this episode did not disappoint. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
The Moffat Paradox
November 24th, 2013 - 12:06amIt was bordering on epic.Would like to have seen more though of the Time War from the Hurt Doctor’s regeneration from the 8th to his older self with the Time Lords dishing it out more to the Daleks as well as taking it. Otherwise a good story as a 50th annitversary tribute.

November 24th, 2013 - 12:06amHighlight for me was to see the TARDIS on the banks of the river Wye as seen from Chepstow Castle.
Next highlight was Tom Baker as the CURATOR
at the end..he seemed emotional and nearly overwhelmed by being in the show.. as were we all.. Well done Tom..
Such a hard show to conjure up for a fiftieth but congratulations to BBC Wales again..
ps It would be great to see a Dr Who episode based around bleak old railway stations in the welsh mountains and steam engines..one near Pontypool!!

November 23rd, 2013 - 11:46pmDoes this mean the 9th Doctor wasn’t battle-scarred anymore? And if all 13 Doctors save Gallifrey including future incarnations (Capaldi) then is that where the line ends?

November 24th, 2013 - 12:08amthe ninth, tenth and eleventh doctor’s all still think gallifrey was destroyed, (john hurt says he will not remember saving gallifrey) the eleventh doctor remembers saving gallifrey from this point on. there, easy, not stupid at all, a simple explaination that means all previous stories still stand.

November 24th, 2013 - 12:12amJohn is doctor 8.5 ( don’t know why) and Peter is going to be the 12th and then there will be a 13th and Moffat said that he might give a twist to save the doctor
Spike Matthews
November 24th, 2013 - 1:51amDear gods. Did nobody see Night of the Doctor? Hurt’s Doctor wasn’t a proper regeneration.
WORON
November 24th, 2013 - 1:59am(1) NIGHT OF THE DOCTOR showed McGann regenerating to Hurt ast given a potion to drink, Then tonight when we saw Hurt starting to regenerate , he was going to change to Eccleston. We may never see that regeneration due to Eccleston not wanting to be involved in the show.

November 24th, 2013 - 12:26pmAnd since Capaldi (12th!) would know they succeeded, the other future doctors would not be needed. Steven Moffat was saying how he hopes dw hits a hundre…

November 23rd, 2013 - 11:40pmOverall Im a bit disappointedat this moment in time. The premise was good as were our heroes and Clara, as always was great. I think my issue was that it all felt a little rushed in parts. If it had had another 30 minutes or so and explored each segment and character a little further, I think it could have been a terrific show. However I shall rewatch it tomorrow and if I change my opinion I’ll let you know.
P.S Rubbish afterparty show.
P.P.S Absolutely brilliant Five(ish)Doctors.

November 23rd, 2013 - 11:27pmI didn’t really like it I think they should have got the older doctors / look a likes ( eg. The 9th,8th,7th,6th,5th,4th,3rd,2nd and most importantly WILLIAM HARTELL 1st doctor ) to have a more exciting epfor the 50th
Katrina
November 23rd, 2013 - 11:30pmAlso I forgot to add WHY didn’t Tom ask matt ” Would you like a jelly baby ?” I was upset as that always made Tom sooo funny ( not that he wasn’t already funny )

November 24th, 2013 - 10:51amI greatly enjoyed the episode and thought John Hurt was excellent. But I came away feeling it could have and should have been better. Great to see the Zygons again, but I’ve had enough of duplicates. Moffat seems obsessed by them!
Surely we could have had the older Doctors in it! Just put them in a story where each of their incarnations have been taken out of their time stream by some enemy wishing to have all the secrets on Gallifrey and the Time Lords. Because then each incarnation has been on this ship for many years they hence look older. So it’s for the later Doctors to rescue them and return them each to their rightful place in time. Hence all those Doctor’s are never aware that they were taken form their time streams as they are returned from where they left. That would have been my sort of 50th anniversary story idea anyway!

Justjeulin
November 24th, 2013 - 12:13amI really hope you’re not implying that you thought TEOT was realistic. The human race become “the master race”? Gallifrey bumping Earth out of it’s place?
And since when did Doctor Who have to be realistic. It’s a sci-fi show at heart, it doesn’t have to be realistic. It can be whatever it wants to be.

November 24th, 2013 - 12:47amI wansn’t talking about The End Of Time. Just in general, light hearted episodes tend to be less realistic an more fairy tale like.

November 23rd, 2013 - 11:03pmIt was better than I was expecting. It needed more of the daleks and the time war. Where was davros and the dalek emperor?

November 23rd, 2013 - 11:01pmAn amazing continuation of the storyline. Lovely cohesive links to the 10th anniversary referring to the Cromer files and Brigadier lethbridge Stewart as well as many others. At least the next few decades are secured with the search for Gallifrey. John Hurt excellent and The rapport between Tennant and Smith superb. Well done!
Dalek the Supreme
November 23rd, 2013 - 10:52pmI loved it. John Hurt’s Doctor was not at all what I was expecting (an angry, stern, warlike man). Instead, we got a man who was so sad and so tired of it all. The Zygons were amazing, and the conflict between the War Doctor and his future selves was brilliant all around. The Daleks weren’t nearly as involved as I thought they’d be, but didn’t fail to impress. The visuals were great, and that ending with Tom Baker and then all the Doctors was beautiful. Moffat, you have impressed me once again, but I’ll have to re-watch it a few times before I form a final opinion.
matparks08
November 23rd, 2013 - 10:49pmbrilliant and a fitting way to celebrate – Capaldi, Tom Baker, Zygons. The after show party was as bad as I expected (One Direction, seriously?) but then pressed red button for 5-ish Doctors which was a perfect way to end the night.

November 23rd, 2013 - 10:27pmFor myself personally it wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to be. There were parts that were good and other parts that didn’t meet expectation. I preferred the classic Zygons to the modern take on the monsters personally. I loved Tom Baker’s involvement and John Hurt was a likeable Doctor.

November 23rd, 2013 - 10:22pmSo… That was really good, but I’m a little bit confused about John Hurt’s doctor. The way that they talked about him in the show made it sound like he WAS the 9th Doctor. And now there’s 13 doctors (with no. 12), so… Is he the Doctor, or is he like doctor 8.5 or something? Because they didn’t count the watcher as a doctor, (4.5) or the Valeyard, (12.5) so if John Hurt is being counted as the doctor, shouldn’t there be 15 doctors? Well who knows, in my eyes there’s 11 main Doctors, and the 3 half doctors.
Well I think this comment is way too long, so thank you Steven Moffat for the 50th, and the rest of the BBC of course, Happy 50th anniversary everyone and I wish you all a very good night! 🙂

November 23rd, 2013 - 10:50pmLook, I know we’re all allowed opinions and stuff but do you have to always critisise everything? The production team and actors have worked extremely hard on this to please us, and most of us are over the mood with it, we appreciate the work put into this. If you don’t like anything from the show recently just stop watching it. Sorry, but you could just appreciate the work and money put into the show.

November 23rd, 2013 - 10:39pmI don’t think it was the fourth Doctor, I think it was just Tom Baker making a cameo (which was great) as a different character. Although I could be wrong (and I hope I am; I’d love to think that it was the Doctor).

November 23rd, 2013 - 10:59pmI think he is some sort of revisitation of the 4th Doctor’s body by the 11th or 12th Doctors… “I never forget a face” “I know you don’t. And in years to come you might find yourself revisiting a few. But just the old favourites, eh?”
