What Did You Think of The Day of the Doctor?
What Did You Think of The Day of the Doctor?
The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special.
In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

November 24th, 2013 - 5:47pmno… Paul regenerates into John (Night of the Doctor), John regenerates into Chris (as shown in the time-line too) and so on, then Matt regenerates into Capaldi. Don’t believe me? Can’t wait to see your face at Christmas…

November 24th, 2013 - 5:44pmThat’s the reason I decided NOT to watch it in the cinema. I know everyone would be cheering and breaking the tension even though the people that made it aren’t anywhere close by so what’s the point in clapping for them or cheering. Plus bad view.

November 24th, 2013 - 5:02pmEnjoyed both fish doctor thing and the 50th special. Really think Colin Baker should of been in the Day of Doctor. I know he’s not quite the Colin he used to be, but he hasn’t appeared in Doctor Who since the end of his original run has he? Give him a chance hated Colin’s Doctor but he is both a lovely person and should be given a chance to repair the damage that was done in the 1980’s.

November 24th, 2013 - 4:44pmThis was absolutely brilliant. I have been a very tough critic of Doctor Who recently (for a couple of years) and I gave two very difficult conditions to see if the BBC were truly making the most of the 50th Anniversary. Both of those conditions were met.

November 24th, 2013 - 4:42pmyou’re right, McGann doesn’t change at the end and Eccleston just shows up. But I still think that to put John Hurt in between them would make for more shows if they did show a change from McGann to Hurt to Eccleston…..even if it were one show……I also still think the doctor can go on to 20 or 21 lives because of the lives River Song gave to him.

November 24th, 2013 - 4:41pmWas it asked once in An Unearthly Child? The question is just the title of the show and hasn’t had any real relevance to the series until 2012.

November 24th, 2013 - 4:40pmi guess moffat is saving the dr escaping trenzalore for another story, the xmas special is on trenzalore, the fall of the 11th. the conscience of the moment appeared as rose, someone he cares for in his past/future she says, rose is arguably the companion he has loved the most, bad wolf has had significance in his future too.

November 24th, 2013 - 3:49pmSeems to me this is consistent with “end of time” it’s all of the comments about destroying the doctors etc and walking around with long faces that are inconsistent.

November 24th, 2013 - 3:30pmI loved the ” Day of the Doctor” BUT they messed up…..they squeezed John Hurt in between Paul McCann #8 and Christopher Eccleston #9. When you watch the show with McCann , he turns into Eccleston,,,so it does not make sense. They could fix this by changing the end of McCann to change into Hurt, then make a couple of shows and then have Hurt change to Eccleston. Also River song gave up the rest of her 9 regenerations to save the doctor in one of the shows, so he should live on past Matt Smith for 9 more doctors…..This would be the only way I figure the show could flow properly from #1 right through to the future of 20 or 21 doctors.

November 24th, 2013 - 2:50pmSorry let me rephrase that. Does anything now known or seen in ‘The Day of the Doctor’ muck up anything we know or seen with the Time Lords in ‘The End of Time’. Thank you.

November 24th, 2013 - 2:49pmWell if you pause just when the song ends for John Hurt s Doctor you can catch a quick look at Eccleston s face and a little bit of his hair

November 24th, 2013 - 1:22pm@Anonymous – “The Shakespeare Code” is set in 1599, 37 years after the Doctor (accidentally) marries Elizabeth I, and then he does a runner and (presumably) doesn’t come back. Of course she’s mad at the Doctor.
