it could have also been Kovarian or the Silence.

My favourite part of the show becuase its down to us to decide. Here are my thoughts.

      1) His Death – which is why we could hear the TARDIS Cloister Bell ringing

      2) The TARDIS’s death – again, that explains the cloister bell.

      3) Amy and Rorys death – that would also explain the cloister bell and why he suddenly decided to leave Amy and Rory behind.

I think it was him. That would explain the noise, why he said “Oh it would be you” and the end part where it hints that the doctor is covered in the blood of innocents (sorry I don’t know the direct quote.) As well as this the doctor has always hated himself.

He is on a year by year contract, they all are. However in this case Matt Smith has said he will stay on for 2013 but the episodes have yet to be officially comissioned (because the BBC One Controller made a massive mistake and thought half of the next series would be broadcast in 2013 rather than the whole thing in late 2012) so he cannot “officially” guarentee it.

Really loved the episode, the tone was pretty dark and I sobbed at the end with the goodbye to The Ponds (even though we’ll see them next week).I love how it ended because it’s so true that The Doctor is selfish in the way he takes people, shows them the whole of time & Space then either expects them to return to normal or they die on their adventures. It’s also building up the story trying to show us the Doctor in a bad light so we maybe sympathize with his enemies a little.

So my theory is that the series in some weird loop and that it’s backwards; so when Amy & Rory receive the invite in the first episode it’s in the house that the Doctor gave to them.

Yeah…I think there are two sets of adventures going on….those before Utah (Doctor in regular Tweed Jacket) and those after Utah (Doctor in new long coat). Some how it will all fall into place in the final episode….I hope.

    • whofan4ever

      September 18th, 2011 - 8:10am

maybe in LKH he was 100 years after a good man goes to war as he was lookng for melody for a while. he was wearing the long coat so maybe lets kill hitler happens then the doctor drops amy and rory then the past doctor comes and picks them up for night terrors, the girl who waited and the god complex. then another 100 years later the doctor waves to amy and rory within history. then he meets craig and sees cybermen and cybermats. then after that he might pick up amy and rory for THE WEDDING OF RIVER SONG.

  • Doc3Pertwee

    September 17th, 2011 - 10:11pm

I can’t wait for to see the cybermats return after about 36 years of being on screen.

    well, another disappointing episode.
Why do none of the characters seem to have any depth? I didnt care about any of them. Why did the minotaur stop the program if amy lost faith in the doctor? wouldnt it just move onto another?
In any case, amy DIDNT lose faith in the doctor as she was upset at the end and was looking out of the window. Are you telling me rory didnt believe in anything? Why didnt the minotaur just stop the program before if he could (like he did at the end). Amy seams NOT BOTHERED AT ALL that her baby is still missing.
2 episodes left. Still no answers who blew up the tardis last season. Torchwood this year, (a spin off) has wiped the floor with this season. Love doctor who….but whats happened to the quality of these scripts? Budget cuts aside….seams like how to stell a story has suffered too. Shame really. oh well.

      September 17th, 2011 - 10:13pm

well, melody says (as river) that she was trained to kill the doctor indicating the doctor does not find her. I think amy knows that. also, when everyone was dieing, like you said, i didn’t care for for them but if you look back on it you can see how it is apropriate how everyone dies and how dark the episode gets at the end compared to the beggining. also, the minotor was dieing anyway. one loss could ruin its life span. it was going to die soon anyway and as it had not gone wrong before, it killed him.

    • sadlasswithafox

      September 17th, 2011 - 10:38pm

The minotaur actually said itself that it wanted to die but it was so stuck in it’s instinct it couldn’t stop. I am sure we’ll have more answers to the 5th series as well by the end of this one and Amy isn’t as bothered because she found out that she had grown up with her daughter as her best friend so was looking out for her after all even if it’s not a simple mother/daughter relationship.

this is what gareth roberts said about this ep
It’s 200 years after The God Complex – for the Doctor, anyway. All the stuff you saw at the very beginning of The Impossible Astronaut, with him waving to Amy through all time and space, he’s been doing that.

But time is closing in on him and he can’t put off going to Lake Silencio and his doom. But before he does, he thinks he’ll make one last social call – and he ends up working in a shop and fighting the Cybermen.
