The Five Doctors: the TARDIS couldn’t escape because it was one of their own and could easily be frozen, they have done it before and Rassilon did appear wearing the coronet (despite Borusa having one)so he could over-ride Borusa’s one, apart from the Brigadier’s head! Kamelion seemed to sitting in a position as he did in “The King’s Demons”. And only a mad man with box (or Barbara Woodhouse) would take him walkies”. The final one, if a machine can be devised to travel through time and space I doubt that everything else would not have been taken into consideration. The mathematic/scientific/interstellar engineering calculations would compensate for something as simple as magnetic fields within space time co-ordinates. Over 10 million years of evolution of a higher species on the verge of becoming a new species existing of thought and no need of bodily form would overcome magnetic fields. The conclusion has to be the TARDIS was is for repairs and was wonky. Why couldn’t Steven Moffat simply have said that? Douglas Adams would.

Matt Smith, despite being the Eleventh Doctor, is still the result of the twelfth regeneration. The twelve regenerations/thirteen lives rule has been established since the 70’s, Moffat just found a way around it. I doubt he’ll cancel the show considering he’s been a fan since the 60’s. As for why Matt Smith left, I don’t know. However, even though he was a great Doctor, the show has to move on, and Peter Capaldi is what it’s moving on to.

They explained why she wasn’t there. Her chapter broke away and went rogue.

It’ll be something to do with temporal distortion on a magnetic field with spacial co-ordinates hidden from the computing devices of a type 40 TARDIS. Or something.

    Five Doctors – The TARDIS couldn’t escape…

As for Kamelion, perhaps, in an unseen adventure, he managed to escape the confines of TARDIS corridors. Maybe the Doctor took him out for “Walkies”…?

TARDIS proof is a good idea, but Moffat has a habit of saying things that sound cool but not explaining sometimes.

I see your point, and I don’t mind Strax, but when the Sontarans popped up in the TTOTD they looked like Strax, and didn’t act as good as they did in series four. Not every Sontaran has to look like Strax! Staal didn’t!

Oh dear, oh dear: AGAIN! that’s cruel, even for them .Naughty, naughty Time Lords. Sit on the step time. Besides ,they would also have to deal with Clara’s memory, which we now know is vast, not to mention that of the TARDIS who has proven herself to be a right leery one when annoyed.

Sorry, besides which, the First Doctor did state that his people had reduced things of science “to a game for children” on his planet. However he could have been telling one of his porkies way back then as well; after all he was well known for it : TARDIS fluid link as an example. I suppose we will never know!

  • Obsie

    January 4th, 2014 - 12:41pm

It is a very good thought. We know the TARDIS can extend an atmospheric field to let people see things with their own eyes rather than rely on a scanner, or in Rory’s dads case Brian, have picnic on the step in “Dinosaurs on…” Also as demonstrated in the 50th, two Doctors using the same sonic; one reversing the polarity while the other sonic reverses the action of the first one therefore it has no effect on the portal. However, considering the VERY long history of the Time Lords I doubt that magnetics would be problem for them; arrogance yes but magnets; after all holding a black hole in stasis is no mean feat (I assume).

I THINK SO – Either the TARDIS has some kind of magnetic atmospere that would surround it ( which would make sense considering when you open a TARDIS door in space it allows you to breath, although it’s triggered by somthing else that might help ) Well, if it DOES have a magnetic atmospere then you know how magnets retract from each other?? Well, what if some kind of technoligy had made the other magnetic pull. That could lock the TARDIS OUT. I think… just a thought..
