As a 50 yr old I’ve also been watching for years. Tom and Jon were always ‘my’ doctors but from the minute go I loved Matt and he is my doctor.

Simon, it was the Autons. That’s how they replicated Rory and the Romans from her book. The fact that there are three floors on Amy’s house means nothing, it could be a flight of stairs leading to an attic, and doesn’t really matter anyway. The only thing that needs tied up is the “blonde woman in the shop”, unless I’ve missed anything.

I’d love to have Timothy Dalton back as Rassilon and John Simm back as the Master, but if they couldn’t get the actors to return, they could always have them post-regeneration as the main villains of Series 8.

Weeping Angels can regenerate, as seen in The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone.

Time of the doctor was ok but the regenerating part spoiled I know each doctor should have their turn but matt smiths doctors ending was really sad whenever I even watch or think about it just makes me unhappy

I’ve been watching Doctor Who literally from day one, as a seven year old in 1963. In all that time, Matt Smith has been my favourite Doctor of all. I will miss him greatly, but I look forward to Where Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat’s brilliant writing will take us.

I would love the new doctor and Clara to find Gallifrey, fight the master and the Daleks, do the Doctor Who ‘save the day’ thing and run off again, with the master escaping to return another day!

My apologies to everyone it wasn’t my intent to offend anyone. I got a bit carried away at the thought of “open auditions” when mentioned. I just think it would be better if someone with a bit of acting experience would be a better way of doing it. My comment did come across as being harsh and I deserve being told off. I stand corrected!

I only said I could see where you were coming from, not that I agreed completely. He was good, but I’d rather not go down the “open auditions for big fans” route again, just in case…

Maybe I missed something in previous episodes pertaining to the weeping angels but why can’t you just blow the hell out of them with guns?

  • The Moffat Paradox

    January 10th, 2014 - 2:50pm

    Well. Hmmm.

I call myself the Moffat Paradox here because after no wrapping up of the plotlines in series 5 -7 until at last with “The Time Of The Doctor” I started to wonder if he either really knew or cared what he was doing.

He did. Even though his saying things would make more overall sense before the showing of “The Time Of The Doctor” was as far as I was concerned just codswallop. So no insult to logical thought has been committed in the end.

He has had good ideas like the Weeping Angels even if I have found his style of storytelling irksome at times and thought it suited more for his Sherlock than to Doctor Who.

If their already considering replacements for him then surely Mark Gattis if he isn’t too busy with acting in things like Sherlock as well as his writing for other things besides Doctor Who.
