Orbital perform Dr Who at Glastonbury 2010
The Glastonbury 2010 Orbital performance of the Doctor Who theme has been made available via the official BBC Youtube channel. The band were introduced by Matt Smith. Orbitals version of the theme tune has always been a favourite of many fans.
Please note these clips contain strobe lighting.

the song starts out weird and sounds like they are having trouble with the timing however later in the tune it sounds like an epic who rave party. I think as great as it is it would not fit the show!

1 I should say, there are alot of Marvellous Dr Who themes out there by fans, and some official, and this, far from awesome. Seeing Matt Smith performing infront of the audience with such enthusisam makes it an incredible shame there was not a Doctor Who theme like this tomake the event as awesome as it could have been:
Dr Who Chrome Blast theme by 4D Futurist, the best take on the theme I HAVE EVER KNOWN. Its now been taken off youtube and I cant imagine why, but a second version of it still remains viewable, one that is an improved and more betterer version of the OFFICIAL 1986 THEME, which actually sounds like a better version of it. I never really liked Orbital doing Dr Who, they werent much good at this to be perfectly honest. Regardless of who makes what, there are far superior, more sophisticated and enjoyable versions of the Doctor Who theme than the minor attempt seen here.

I’m with PC on this one ! The Orbital version is far better than that of S5 and I agree that the BBC should aproach them for an official version for S6 !

Why can’t the bbc approach these guys to do the offical theme tune for series 6? this was better than what we have heard over the last series so come on people what do you think?
