Torchwood The New World – Synopsis

The Starz Press-room has release the synopsis for Torchwood The New World…

When C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy, he finds himself unearthing a threat which challenges the entire human race.

The answers seem to lie within an old, secret British institute, known only as Torchwood. But Torchwood was destroyed, years ago, and the keys to the institute are held by its only two survivors – former Police Officer Gwen Cooper, who has long since disappeared along with her husband and child, and the mysterious Captain Jack Harkness, a man whose history seems to stretch back centuries.

With Rex under attack from all sides, in both the US and the UK, he soon discovers there are forces at work within every level of society, determined to stop Torchwood’s return. As a chain of events across the world links together the most disparate and unlikely individuals – including a surgeon, a killer, senators and CEOs – a new Torchwood team takes shape. But this time, the threat is much closer to home, as they realize that their greatest enemy is mankind itself…

I hope Jack at least is in this and it hasn`t been completely ruined as the original Torchwood…..however if it is a completely new concept then it`s something to look forward to in it`s own right

Torchwood is going darker. They’ve got writers from The X files and Supernatural, two very scary US Tv programmes. The aliens seem to be gone, which is a shame, but I suppose that’s the way X Files went. I just hope that Torchwood will one day return to Cardiff and the Rift with the Weevils and all that…. If I was the head-writer of Torchwood I’d take it straight back home and make what Series 3 could’ve been

I really miss Torchwood, series 2 and Children of earth were great. This is sounding really good and can’t wait for more news on this

I absolutely cannot wait for Torchwood Series 4!!! Will it be the same as Children of Earth? Probably, seeing as its not 13 episodes, has a title to it and sounds to be ambitious like CoE, as opposed to the relaxed Welshs etting of the first 2 seasons. I do hope after this season, the Torchwood team can settle down in Wales and have normal adventures, Children of Earth and A New World seem like BIG DOSES, which is fun and exciting, but after a while I want to return to the old ways. I cannot wait though. USA? Wales? Shanghai??? Maybe we’;ll get to see Japan, some European countries, they’ll have to be BIG , political countries though. Japan, China, Wales, England, USA , France and Germany all fit that bill.

Is there a production company associated with this show yet? Is it based in LA? or the UK? Just curious.
