I think the “heartbreaking end” will involve River and her book of spoilers. I reckon she knows that something nasty is going to happen to her parents and she can’t do anything about it, and she will travel with the Doctor in their place.

So glad to see the back of Amy. Hopefully the next companion will be a lot better thought out and written for. An older actress would be beneficial and would give a different rapport opposite Smith.

This is awful, they are easily the best companions this show had yet.

I expected they would likely leave after season 7, but certainly not during. I was also really hoping that they would be the only “main” companions for the entire Matt Smith run. If they were going to get rid of them I’d rather at least the keep the Doctor on his own. And this leaving in “heartbreaking” fashion… Moffat I swear to god…

Amy and Rory were good companion, but we’ve all got to move on from taht like when matt smith came on our screens after the fantastic David Tennant, which was sad at first, but good at the same time.

      December 21st, 2011 - 10:34am

I wasn’t too fond of David Tennant’s Doctor, but I didn’t hate him. The only reason loads of people think that he is the best Doctor ever is because they began watching the show when it was revived in 2005, so they think Matt Smith is the third Doctor.

They will be back from time to time. There is the 50th anniversary show in under 2 years time to look forward to. Some previous companions always pop back into the doctors life through most of his incarnations. 🙂
Its always exciting to see someone new come on board the tardis.

Just come back from half day at school. In maths we had a quiz and I mumbled which tv character was confirmed as leaving today? someone heard me and they got it right. Nice to know there are still more fans at my school.

Well it’s been a great two years but I don’t think they will die I think they’ll be written out in a suitable way. They will probably have a cameo appearance in the 50th anniversary and then they will just slowly fade away.

Not really. Anjli Mahindra (Rani in SJA) was good for SJA, however. The character would be very weird in comparison with the doctor. And anyway, SJA was only 12 episodes a year, only working in Jan-Apr (ish). If she did Doctor Who, she would be working all year round, and maybe she is too young for the TARDIS! Back in 2009/2010, we listed Matt Smith as the Baby of the TARDIS. If he was the baby of the TARDIS, she wouldn’t even be born (in comparison). That’s my opinion anyway

after 2 years i think it is time for amy and rory to leave. I liked how they stayed for more than one year so that doctor who is variable and I liked the way they left in the god complex and the weeding of river song. but i really wish they didn’t come back in series 7. plus i don’t like having a sad ending to companions and now, moffat is probably going to kill off amy and rory just so they don’t come back! 🙁
