June 20th, 2010 - 11:36amHave just (20 June 2010) seen the Vincent van Gogh episode. It had humanity (concern for)up front and I loved it. But why did they need to go to Croatia or wherever to shoot it? That cafe is STILL THERE in Arles! I was there a few years ago.
The Pedant
June 7th, 2010 - 12:04amJust saw the episode (in Australia 6 June 2010) when the homoreptilians first appear in Dover.
I confess to being a pedant, but just to let you know that we notice things … I don’t think they had double white lines on the roads in Dover in the mid-30’s … I believe they weren’t introduced until the late fifties. A small lapse in otherwise carefully detailed programmes.
Not sure about the new Dr. yet … – A catapult in his jacket pocket? Just a little bit twee, don’t you think?
I’m still watching, though. As I always have done – since Pertwee.

May 16th, 2010 - 10:15pmThe latest series with Matt Smith has just arrived in New Zealand. But, oh dear, the quality of the first two episodes was appalling. Poor Matt, having to endure such weak material.
I appreciate it is a children’s programme but even so kids are somewhat discerning these days, and enormous credibility gaps in the plot and poor direction will not be forgiven. The episode about wartime London and the Daleks was painful in the extreme!
David Tennant had the advantage of some very good scripts and it strengthened his role as the doctor. But if this quality continues then ratings will surely decline.
the 11th doctor – used to be DRWHO?
May 3rd, 2010 - 8:39pmno OMG doctor who is awsome the auton you think is actually a smiler

April 19th, 2010 - 6:28pmI have followed Doctor Who since John Pertwee and I have loved. I stopped watching part way through Colin Bakers time as the Doctor. I was so pleased when it came back with C.Eccleston and D.Tennant. I thought the story line for the new series was fantastic, but I wasn’t impressed with the new Doctor at all. If it wasn’t for Ms Pond I would have turned off.
I had to give it a chance and see if the new Doctor would fit the role. I turned on for the second episode, but I was not impressed. I will watch the next couple of shows, but I don’t hold out much hope at all.
I hope this isn’t the final Doctor Who. But so far I can’t see that Matt Smith has a lot to offer the role. Out of all the candidates,I don’t think the choice was a good one. I hope I am wrong.

April 7th, 2010 - 11:31pmLove love love it!!!!
Also very interesting to note that the new Doctor will be wearing a bit of Harris Tweed! Am I right? This is great news! Will we see a Harris Tweed revival? I hope so!
Congrats to one and all with the new season, which looks great!
Best Wishes

February 7th, 2010 - 3:45pmI have to admit, I was not initially happy with the choice for the new doctor when Matt Smith was first announced. David is and always will be my Doctor, and I was going to have a really hard time letting go of him. However, after I saw the trailer for the new season, my perspective completely changed. Matt Smith looks like a great fit! Mr. Moffat, of course, is a brilliant writer, and I’m sure the season will be awesome. I will always miss David, but I’m sure that I will be a huge fan of Matt within the first few episodes. I’m a relatively new Doctor Who fan, too, so I’m excited to see some of these older monsters introduced to the new series.

I can remember all the way back to the 2nd Doctor. Those automoton/shop mannequins terrified me as a little girl (I was sure they hid in my cupboard at night) & I was delighted to see them back again with the 9th Doctor.
I hate to be a Geek but, it was the 3rd Doctor.
