Today i saw the trailer on TV and there were a few different clips that weren’t on this one such as a close up of clara looking quite shocked. Have any of you seen this slightly different trailer.

How could the dinosaurs be in Victorian London and who’s responsible for them being there?

do you reckon I should watch children of earth and the fires of pompei before the start of this series in case there’s something we might have missed seen them millions of times before though so I doubt it.

I watched the Fires of Pompeii on Tuesday. Don’t own any Torchwood on DVD myself, but never mind.

Peter Capaldi gives an unforgettable performance as Frobisher in Torchwood. Don’t feel the need to watch it simply for preparation, but I thoroughly recommend it.
Alas, they took it of Netflix whilst I was two episodes from the finale! I can’t buy it for two episodes!

My only complaint about the trailer is the music mix drowns out some of the dialogue. Capaldi’s dialogue is virtually inaudible, as is Vastra’s comment about the Doctor. Since I’ve read no complaints on this from those who have seen the actual episode, I assume this won’t be the case in the actual story.

it looks good, but I don’t think the trailer with the music flowed very well to make it dramatic. but it looks very interesting all a bit random!

There are a great many quotable classic lines. There is little need to regularly include classic lines at all. The line “you’ve redecorated. I don’t like it.” Is greatly and extremely unnecessarily overused. There is no call for it and it is getting silly.

Rant over. Mr. Moffat, I hope you’re listening.

It’s only been used 3 times now –

The 2nd Doctor [The Three Doctors]
The 10th Doctor [The Day of the Doctor]
      Clara [Deep Breath]

Twice in the past the annoying gag has never been used at all to describe the Tardis has changed.

Sarah Jane Smith [School Reunion] “You’ve redecorated. I preferred it the way it was, but yeah, it will do”.

The 5th Doctor [Time Crash] “What have you done to my Tardis ? you’ve changed the desktop theme havin’t you ! what;s this one ? Coral ? it’s worse then the Leopard skin !”.

100,000BC if you think about so far in moffats 4 year run he has only used it twice and that’s not a lot.

Gareth Roberts was the one who decided to put the line in closing time

So it is not all moffats fault

didn’t the 2nd doctor say it to the brigadier in the five doctors?

Plus, in The Five Doctors, The Second Doctor says “You’ve redecorated. I don’t like it” when hes in UNIT HQ with Brigadier

If you prefer the series abandon its 50 year history, you’re welcome to your opinion. Me, the more shout outs the happier I am. That’s the best line in the trailer.

Yeah, i get that it wasn’t Moffat the first time, but he’s the one who’s been repeating it. It is just beginning to seem a little bit forced, whereas if they need to repeat classic lines (which, I admit, is nice, and OCCASIONALLY, should be done) they could at least use different ones. There’s twenty six seasons worth of classic dialogue, for goodness’ sake!

He’s damned if he does, he’s damned if he doesn’t….I like the nods to the past and let’s face it, it’s not really going to be used that oftern. I’d just be thankful we have someone in charge of the show who is responsible for the best production and some of the best scripts in the shows 50 year history rather than having a flap over one line.

No all the other EPs are 45 episodes along

Unless Astronaut has access to information the rest of us don’t, there has been nothing announced with regards to the length of the upcoming episodes. Apparently someone did some timing calculations on the leaked scripts that suggested some episodes might exceed 45 minutes, but we really won’t know till the BBC announces the scheduling for each episode. They only just today confirmed the title of episode 2, but it may be a day or so before we know its length.

Today on the radio there was a series 8 trailer .

    This was the transcript

The doctor – I never know where the faces come from. They just pop up.

Clara – I don’t think i know who the doctor is anymore.

The doctor – it’s covered in lines . But I didn’t do the frowning . Who frowned me this face.

I agree when the eleventh doctor said it in the lodger it was a funny throwback and then when the 10th doctor said it in 50th anniversary I liked it as it sort of fitted david tenants personality but when I heard it in the trailer I kinda thought…..errr not again (facepalm)

Closing Time: third time it was said, nice reference.
Day: fourth, gets away with it because it’s the anniversary.
Deep Breath: Definitely beginning to sound forced. With 33 years’ worth of regularly transmitted episodes (assuming we fit the tv movie into 2009 or some other year which had very few episodes) you’d think that there would be plenty of different and varied classic dialogue references that they could fit in so that it didn’t sound so forced.

I’m a little mixed about this one. I’m interested in seeing Peter Capaldi establish his Doctor, but I’m hoping there’s a reason why a T-Rex (which is 15-18 feet tall) would be nearly a hundred feet tall, and honestly? That “You’ve redecorated line” has gotten overused since The Day of the Doctor. Give it a rest. I’m also a little unsure about the redesign of the console room. The books kind of ruin the industrial theme of it.

Uh, how can a line be overused if it’s only been used once? There’s been a single episode aired since Day of the Doctor and the line was not in that episode. What show have you been watching?

Peter Capaldi has recently revealed an intriguing hint on his past Whoniverse appearances! He says the full answer is not there, but the question is certainly addressed and It’s something that you’ll discover, The Doctor is always influenced in his regenerations by things that are around him, But you also have to question who that character was in Pompeii, Perhaps he was not who he said he was… Sound Interesting!
