Doctor Who Radio Times Cover

Doctor Who Radio Times Cover

In this week’s Radio Times – on sale today – when asked if the Doctor will face his most dastardly opponents again, Steven Moffat says:

“Oh yes, the Daleks. Actually, they aren’t going to make an appearance for a while.” What? “Yes, we thought it was about time to give them a rest. There’s a problem with the Daleks.” How come? I thought they were invincible.

“They are the most famous of the Doctor’s adversaries and the most frequent,” explains Moffat. “Which means they are the most reliably defeatable enemies in the universe. They have been defeated by the Doctor about 400 times. Surely they should just see the Tardis approaching, say, ‘Oh. It’s him again’, and trudge away.”

TDWS, it feels as if you are neglecting the ‘News’ section slightly at the moment. It used to be the first place I came for news, but now there’s no viewing figure info, none of the new trailers, nothing. I could go to other site’s that have 4 pieces of (non-spoiler) news per day, but here its only around 4 a week! It used to be so much more. Thanks, Chandra.

He said in DWM a couple of months ago that he was “wanting” to rest the Daleks and that the chances of them showing up this year were very slim (and would only be a cameo in episode 13). This is confirming that he has indeed gone ahead with his plans.

i think, at least a series without the daleks, not til 2013, he may be giving them a rest, but that may be a little to long? just my opionion! 😀

Besides the “promise” of finding out who River is, there is no way that they can answer all the question that have popped up in this series in 45 minutes….and no way they would want to…otherwise what are the other 6 episodes going to be about…all I can say is that it is going to feel like a life time waitng for the second part of the series! it would suprise me if for every answer given, we are left with even more questions 🙂

I’ve watched DW since 1979…this IMO is by FAR the best series to date….so far, lets hope its not another anti climax of a finale like the last series.

So Steven Moffat told you himself then did he? He’s only just made this statement, up until then it was just a rumour and we dont post them.

I hope they aren’t. I think they should leave them for like, 3 series, then bring them back to make more of an impact.
