Doctor Who Series Nine Stunning New Image

Doctor Who returns to BBC One on Saturday, 19 September and this stunning new image gives us a sense of the action and adventure that series 9 will deliver.

It shows the world’s greatest heroes in explosive form, dashing from danger but – knowing those two – running headlong into more trouble!

I dont the show is decreasing….. The viewing figures ar about the same as they’ve been since 2005. Your survey can’t determined if the popularity of doctor who is decreasing. It might be in your neighbourhood but not the world.

I absolutely hate saying this about one of my favorite shows of all time but doctor who is starting to decrease popularity wise it just took a survey of my neighborhood yesterday.

Bad Wolf happened . . and then there was the Battle of Canary Wharf . . followed by the year the Master ruled the Earth which then never happened and became known as the year that never was . . then there was Davros and his mighty new Dalek Empire who created the reality bomb, and failed . . then there was a bit of a brief interlude with the 10th Doctor having the odd adventure before regenerating after defeating Rassilon and the Time Lord’s by sending them back into hell . . then there was crack in the skin of the universe and the Pandorica opening . . then there was that bizzare time the Doctor sort off got married to the Doctor . . then the Doctor lost Amy and Rory to a Weeping Angel . . then the Doctor had his lives saved thanks to Clara going into his time stream . . then he saved Gallifrey and with help from his other selves . . then ended up regenerating on Trenzalore after a thousand years defending the planet . . and finally for the most recent of events delt with a crazy old bat who believes she’s the Master [ha, yeah right Miss Nutty Bar :D] and Earth’s dead brought back as Cybermen who then decided to go up on flames like Fireworks . .

And now I need a lie down. Hope I explained everything of the last 10 years . . more or less . . before series 9 starts next month πŸ™‚

In vibe. Not a specific one, although perhaps the Doom Coalition boxsets.

they have made it available for wallpaper so no

realistically anyone is only likely to get into trouble if they use it to make money or try to pass it off as their own

All I can say is Wow I hope this is leading up to something big for season 10. I did notice the Trousers earlier that they look the same as the 2nd dr’s ones.

Like a specific one or just generally? Cause it definitely has a similar vibe to the artwork on some of the box sets

Interesting theories. It would be nice if they turned out to be true. (Especially the Gallifrey theory, which is long overdue for being explained)

Does it remind anybody else of a Big Finish cover?

Paul Jones of the Radio Times thinks his spotted some clues hidden in the picture.

    1) GALLIFREY REDISCOVERED ?
His got an arrow pointing to the planet on the left and believes it maybe Gallifrey.

    2) TARDIS OR DALEK ?
An arrow pointing at the ‘meteorite’ below the planet on the left. He thinks it maybe a Dalek or the Tardis herself.

    3) TROUGHTON’S TROUSERS
Referring to the trousers worn by the Doctor in the picture.

    4) LAYERS OF MEANING ?
Talking about the Doctor wearing 5 layers of clothes in this picture.

    5) CLARA LOVES BEING BACK WITH THE DOCTOR
Referring to the look on her face in the picture.

    6) TROUGHTON TUNIC
Paul Jones reckons Clara’s checkered dress is reflecting on the Doctor’s checkered trousers.

    7) EXPLODING THE MYTHS
Referring to the explosion behind them. Paul thinks it maybe something to do with the Time War.

    8) POMPEII REVISITED ?
Regarding the 12th Doctor’s face and the fact that there maybe a connection between the 12th Doctor and Peter’s Pompeii character.

If you look up Doctor Who on Google and look for news to the Radio Times, you can’t miss it.

I never thought the Doctor’s fashion sense would be better than Clara’s, but there you go.

The CGI is actually pretty good…

  • MrHaloWho

    August 4th, 2015 - 2:44pm

No, it’s the opposite. I think it was better in the classic series, even if the monsters were just men in furry blankets. Nowadays, the show is all force-fields, explosions and bad CGI.

Getting excited now!! But we need more trailers!! Last year there were loads of lottle teasers (however they were for the new Doctor) but still how hyped would we be if we got some good little teasers?!

  • Nobody in particular

    August 4th, 2015 - 12:39pm

I thought the same when I first saw the outfit at filming, but it’s kind of grown on me since. And anyway, it’s only going to be in two episodes, so I assume there’s a reason he’s dressed more ‘down’ than the rest of the series

  • Nobody in particular

    August 4th, 2015 - 12:38pm

That’s probably a bit harsh. There were some last year (Into the Dalek, for example) that I would say that about, but I was fairly impressed by this one

This looks really bad, I don’t no whether it’s the poses that Capaldi and Coleman are in but it looks so fake. I’ve seen better Images done by a 10 year old.

  • MrHaloWho

    August 4th, 2015 - 11:11am

Those outfits look horrible. Capaldi’s wearing 1970’s pyjamas, with a 1990’s American teenage boy’s t-shirt and jumper, with a crombie coat over the top. Not to mention his grandma hair.

Looks very high budget which is actually what Doctor Who needs to make it great and feel amazing

I love it…. It looks amazing

I hope to get this as a poster for my wall…
