Tom Baker…

Sarah Jane dead? No, impossible! Impossible. Only last week I agreed to do six new audio adventures with her for Big Finish Productions. She can’t be dead. But she is: she died yesterday morning. Cancer.

You can read the full tribute Here.

Matt Smith…

“What struck me about Lis was her grace. She welcomed me, educated me, and delighted me with her tales and adventures on Doctor Who. And she also seemed to have a quality of youth that not many people retain as they go through life. Her grace and kindness will stay with me because she had such qualities in abundance and shared them freely. I will miss her, as will the world of Doctor Who and all the Doctors that had the good pleasure to work with Lis Sladen and travel the universe with Sarah Jane.”

David Tennant…

I just can’t believe that Lis is gone. She seemed invincible. The same woman who enchanted my childhood, enchanted my time on Doctor Who and enchanted generations who have watched her and fallen in love with her – just like I did. I feel very honoured to have shared a TARDIS with Sarah Jane Smith, and I feel very lucky to have shared some time with Lis Sladen. She was extraordinary.

Russell T Davies…

“I absolutely loved Lis. She was funny and cheeky and clever and just simply wonderful. The universe was lucky to have Sarah Jane Smith, the world was lucky to have Lis.”

Nicholas Briggs…

We are all so shocked and so very sad at the news of the death of Lis Sladen. Only yesterday I was filming a DVD extra in which I was talking with such heartfelt passion about how she was so ‘luminous’ on screen and how brilliant she was as Sarah Jane Smith.

Please bear in mind some comments on this site are from very young and upset people. This news as come as a great shock to many fans, old and new.

Sarah Jane never got to say a final goodbye to the doctor and that’s the saddest part.

    RIP Elisabeth Sladen.

It’s been about 3 months now I still watch SJA and forget she is no longer hear. Why can’t the progosers (spelling sorry) make one last one with the whole crew with Clyde rani and Luke together at a frunaral and do a propper tribute but end it on a high with a flash back, they could travel back with the doctor and look for one last time on what they all did (just an idear it would be soooooo lovely if that happened) otherwise kids will get confused they stopped theif fav program with non of the actors /actresses saying good bye .
    Who thinks the same?

I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news about Elisabeth Sladen, I was named after her character in Doctor Who because she was my big sister’s favourite character and my parents let her name me (it was the 70s so I was lucky that she loved Sarah Jane so much and I wasn’t named after a Dalek!)because of this, she has always been a part of me – it was so great to see her back on tv with the Sarah Jane adventures – she will be very fondly remembered by a great deal of people!!

I was upstairs taking a bath when my little brother screamed that Sarah Jane’s Lis Sladen had “gone”. At first, I thought he was referring to an episode of SJA, but when I came downstairs, I was shocked to see the Yahoo! article that stated her death. I was so heartbroken, and outraged when they only gave her a 15 minute tribute on CBBC. And the new Doctor Who episode that aired on Saturday only gave her memory. She was a wonderful person, that much I can guess, and she will definetly hold a place in her fans’ hearts. Lis Sladen was and always will be remembered! RIP forever after!

I woke up on the 20th at about 8:00 before Me and My Monsters on CBBC and Newsround was on. I watched it and Ricky Boleto the presnter said that Elisabeth Sladen had died and me and my mum were so shocked!!!!Elisabeth’s left us like Nicholas who played the Brigadier. I think
There should be a proper tribute instead of just a 15 min programme. I cant believe I was on holiday in caravan when i got the news
