Filming for series 8 of Doctor Who has begun
Filming for series 8 of Doctor Who has begun. Below is the first official photo of Peter Capaldi on set with Jenna Coleman.

January 12th, 2014 - 12:14amlet’s have the doctor travel back to the big bang or into a black hole. Just a thought.
Zohaib shamim
March 9th, 2014 - 2:13amI hope the master returns in series 8 if the master is coming back and john simm says “no” then bendict cumberbatch would be a good choice to play the master

March 9th, 2014 - 1:40pmCharles dance would be good

January 11th, 2014 - 10:12pmI would like to see, not in this series but in some future Capaldi series, the crack is spitting out stuff from the Time War. I’m thinking The Master, Daleks, The Rani, and some other ‘unseen’ aliens that could’ve been invloved in the Time War?
Anonymous
January 12th, 2014 - 8:41amLike the thought
Dalek the Supreme
January 14th, 2014 - 2:21pmNo need, we already have Daleks from the Time War ruled over by the New Paradigm, the Master presumably was sent back to Gallifrey with Rassilon in The End of Time, and the Rani could have been anywhere, they just need to explain her presence. It would be interesting, though, to see a few of the horrors of the Time War beyond the Daleks and corrupt Time Lords.

January 11th, 2014 - 9:25pmThis is my theory for series 8 – let me know what you think.
There are hints of Gallifray returns (perhaps the crack in time will once more re-appear) but also signs that all is not what it should be – perhaps the crack is getting considerably smaller.
Then at the end of the series we see both the Time Lords and the Daleks return along with Davros. They have discovered Gallifrays location and plan to either destroy it for good or start the Time War anew.
The Doctor will have to make an impossible decision – allow the Time War to start all over again or destroy both his home world and the Time Lords for ever and wipe out the Daleks with them.
DALEKSKITTLES
January 11th, 2014 - 9:59pmI like your theory, but it’s just a bit repetitive, kinda repating the whole thing again, I’m hoping they will go for a new fresh story, but I like your theory 🙂

January 12th, 2014 - 8:48amHave you even watch the Day of the Doctor darylcharles? The 11th, 10th and War Doctors sorted it out so that the Daleks are now shooting at each other by destroying themselves so they can save Gallifrey by freezing it!!!

Yes, but they’re not the only Daleks in existance are they? If Gallifray is in another universe they may have found it!

January 11th, 2014 - 8:27pmI Have a theory about his regeneration cycle is that his emotions are locked to each regeneration, and now the cycle is reset, he could go through all of his personalities again. This means that Capaldi would end up similar to the first Doctor. He could be grumpy and old like the first but maybe more energetic and lively. Hidden beneath the tough exterior could be a loving man with passion burning through his heart. It would be a clever use of the idea of the cycle being reset but it also means that the personalities of the Doctor would become predictable. This could end up making regeneration a little less exiting when we know how the Doctor will act

January 11th, 2014 - 8:43pmfantastic theory I hope that happends

January 12th, 2014 - 4:49pmactually thinking about it I would not like that to happen because then it would make future doctors to predictable

January 11th, 2014 - 9:38amCan’t wait to see Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor!
Hector Sandler
January 11th, 2014 - 1:28amHe first older man since Jon Pertwee. I seen him in Chandler & Co a Private Detective series. He was in a Emma movie one Jane Austin novels. He was nasty Villain which he took out a Police detective wife in Thief Takers. The guy who play Charlie Scott should do villain maybe the next master to get him back for it.
Capaldi
January 10th, 2014 - 10:38pmWhat I Would Like to see in Series 8
Axons

The Celestial Toymaker (think that’s how you spell it)
Zygons
Davros
Capaldi
January 11th, 2014 - 7:41amWe could hope that’s what we are getting in series 8, because it would be nice to see the celestial toymaker because the episode (well some of it)is missing.
DALEKSKITTLES
January 11th, 2014 - 9:19pmI want to see NO daleks they’ve been overused or if they are gonna bring them back, they should make new better daleks! I’m so sick of seeing the time war daleks, their design is boring now and there’s nothing new or exciting with them anymore
Dalek the Supreme
January 14th, 2014 - 2:26pmI want to see:
New Paradigm Daleks
The Valeyard
More two-parters
A Sontaran story where Strax has to chose between the Paternoster Gang and other Sontarans
Autons
Gallifrey + Time Lords
The Master
Rassilon

January 10th, 2014 - 9:25pmWho thinks it would be a good idea to have a spin-off with David Bradley as The First Doctor set before An Unearthly Child Titled. Doctor Who: Before It All Began

January 10th, 2014 - 10:48pmNo they should be The Chlonicles of the Time Warner with Paul McGann and John Hurt

Dalek the Supreme
January 16th, 2014 - 12:32amI would like to see a series about John Hurt’s Doctor, but if they couldn’t fit him into a spin-off series, I would have no objections to him join the Big Finish Doctors.
TC200
January 10th, 2014 - 4:35pmI think the doctor should have a boy companion like adric
Imma Timelord
January 10th, 2014 - 4:42pmQuite true. All the companions are female, (like myself) and its getting pretty BORING.

January 10th, 2014 - 4:43pmwe just had rory !

January 10th, 2014 - 5:52pmLike The Master says from The End of Time “He sure loves playing with Earth Girls!”
Obsie
January 10th, 2014 - 11:35pmI assume that some of you are not old enough to have BEEN there when Adric was around. Believe me there are lots of fans who would recoil at such a thought. I am also aware that some would defend his presence. To be honest my blood runs cold at the suggestion; unless they stumble across someone who is parsec removed from a character like his.
Dalek the Supreme
January 14th, 2014 - 2:28pmI’d prefer a male companion like Rory, actually, or a companion that’s either from another time, planet, or is an android.
poobar73
January 9th, 2014 - 4:06pmI want sea devils and axons to return and a new male companion and Jon Pertwee like costume with cloak and new titles (this time make them good!)
And new TARDIS
MasterKasterborous
January 9th, 2014 - 4:38pmWe’ve just had a new TARDIS!
Gallifrey Falls No More
January 9th, 2014 - 5:12pmMatt Smith’s Series 5-6 TARDIS was the main one, the one toys and playsets were made of. The newest one was made because they couldn’t get the old one in the new studios. Peter Capaldi is almost definately keeping this TARDIS.
It was updated for the 50th Anniversary as well, with a new floor and lighting.
CyberGuy500
January 10th, 2014 - 12:10amI love this TARDIS and I really like the current titles.
Dalek sec
January 10th, 2014 - 3:58amKeep the TARDIS interior, but have a new exterior. Also i would love to see the sea devils return.
Dalek the Supreme
January 14th, 2014 - 2:29pmI wouldn’t object to new titles or Axos returning, but I don’t think a new TARDIS interior/exterior is necessary.
Bring on Capaldi!!!
January 9th, 2014 - 3:47pmI would really like the 12th Doctor and Clara find Gallifrey this time!
DOCTOR WHO ONE
January 9th, 2014 - 4:00pmI’m sure they will 😉
CG
January 9th, 2014 - 12:23amI heard or read somewhere that Jenna’s contract expires after the end of series 8. Does anyone think she will stay longer (I personally hope so).
DOCTOR WHO ONE
January 9th, 2014 - 8:15amDon’t believe everything you read.
Anonymous
January 9th, 2014 - 9:05amso far both capaldi and Coleman have only signed up to the end of series 8 but all could change
Anonymous
January 10th, 2014 - 5:21pmCapaldi won’t be on a one year contract, after Eccelston they wouldn’t let Tenannt or Smith sign up for just one series so I’d assume the same applies for Capaldi.
Companions though are normally year by year though so it’s all up to her.
Anonymous
January 10th, 2014 - 5:26pmno he would be signed for one contract because what if he got through his one series and everone hated him they have got see how he gets on a decide if they should keep him or not
so yes so far capaldi will only be signed on for one sereis

January 8th, 2014 - 9:00pmPlease, please!!! Don’t anyone let him wear a hat. I started cringing every time Matt wore one. No more gimmick things regarding hats! I will have seek help.
As for pony tails; what you do in your spare time is your own business. Too much info for the rest of us, don’t start copying David Tennant he has VERY god reason to have one.
Obsie
January 8th, 2014 - 9:02pmI meant “good” not God. This what happens when hats get involved!
Dalek the Supreme
January 8th, 2014 - 11:00pmThere’s nothing wrong with a hat. While Matt Smith’s Doctor did have a bit of an amusing quirk regarding hats, the Fourth, Fifth, and Seventh Doctors all consistently wore hats without making much of it.
Obsie
January 9th, 2014 - 12:43amI take your point, but TOO much was made of it and it began to grate. Like snow, it’s nice for a while but loses it’s novelty as it goes on. Interesting to note Patrick Troughton’s “stove pipe” and Jon Pertwee’s (“Spearhead from…”) were soon lost somewhere along the way. It’s only a personal feeling ,I don’t want an Act of Parliament banning them altogether, just a little less please.
Dalek the Supreme
January 9th, 2014 - 1:57pmI see you’re point, just remember, every good Doctor differs from his predecessor, and I’m sure Capaldi is no exception, not just in age, but in dress sense. I doubt he’ll have the weakness for hats that Matt’s Doctor did.
Obsie
January 9th, 2014 - 3:25pmWell said! Since Capaldi has been a lifelong fan of the show, I have a strong feeling that he will rebel against any form of pantomime portrayal. I love the way each Doctor seems to scorn his former sartorial choices and stamps his own unique style on a long established character. There nothing wrong with a bit of freshness.

DOCTOR WHO ONE
January 8th, 2014 - 8:59amSome newspaper I came across yesterday online, can’t remember who, said that the clothes Peter is wearing his his Doctor’s brand new outfit.
The fools !!, they should know it’s the same outfit Matt Smith wore for the rest of series 7, along with ‘The Day of the Doctor’ and more or less for ‘The Time of the Doctor’.
Thankfully someone commented telling them they was wrong, otherwise I would have probably told them instead.

January 7th, 2014 - 10:47pmit’s good they’re filming his first episode first

January 7th, 2014 - 9:38pmI know. the new series is coming in late 2014….. maybe august.
matt9982
January 8th, 2014 - 7:54amThis year they do at least have a reason: Moffat needed to film the 50th at the same time they would usually film the series. I know its a long time away but (as always…) We just have to cope 🙁
No More
January 8th, 2014 - 4:43pmSeries 8 will air early September; BBC done it with Series 7 P1. I liked watching series 6 P2 when it was dark at 7PM but I also miss watching Doctor Who at Easter.
But as long as you’ve got loads of Doctor Who DVD’s then your fine.

January 7th, 2014 - 9:05pmInteresting, there’s some other pics too, of the paternoster row gang!
🙂
The Doctor
January 7th, 2014 - 8:51pmhmmm
Dalek the Supreme
January 7th, 2014 - 7:51pmLooks cool. I’m interested to see what monsters Capaldi will face in his first season (I imagine Daleks are on the agenda, as Steve Moffat said the Doctor isn’t really the Doctor until he faces the Daleks in the Monster Files for Victory of the Daleks)

January 7th, 2014 - 8:23pmi would love to see a sontaran and slitheen sroty again

January 8th, 2014 - 6:58pmThe Sea Devils, The Master and the Autons should return! 🙂
darylcharles
January 8th, 2014 - 7:05pmI’d love to see Davros and the Daleks in the final episode and maybe the Time Lords too!
Dalek the Supreme
January 8th, 2014 - 11:04pmSea Devils would be interesting, Autons are awesome-tons, and a story where Strax is forced to confront his Sontaran brethren would be an enjoyable moral dilemma that I’m sure many fans would appreciate, and I’d personally love an episode with the Master and Rassilon, but I’d rather not see the fart-joke Slitheen again, and the Kandyman is dead, and works as a (Surprisingly threatening) one-off villain.
Gallifrey Will Rise Again
January 8th, 2014 - 11:52pmI’d love to see the master, davros, the whisper men (not as the great intelligence though), the celestial toymaker, the sycorax, and at a push the trickster from the sja (still has so much potential).
100000BC
January 9th, 2014 - 7:14pmI think the Raston robot has huge potential with modern CGI.
MaxP
January 9th, 2014 - 10:09pmI’d love to sea a big epic invasion from below by the Sea Devils and Silurians, trying to reclaim their world, or at least a country.
Dalek the Supreme
January 14th, 2014 - 2:33pmRaston Warrior Robot = pure win! 😀 You can’t have the Whispermen without the Great Intelligence, though, as they are one and the same.
Gallifrey Will Rise Again
January 21st, 2014 - 12:05amI believe that the great intelligence took the form and characteristics of the race known as the whispermen as opposed to the great intelligence literally creating them for the purposes of capturing strax, madame vastra, and temporally killing jenny flint to force the doctor to visit trenzalore to try and save them. Thus of course these events resulting in clara splicing herself through the doctors timeline and probably a good explanation as to why future doctor peter capaldi had human incarnations of himself working for the british government in torchwood children of earth and as Caecilius in The Fires of Pompeii, and possibly (just my thoughts) splicing past incarnations of the doctor in human form just like tom baker aka the 4th doctor as the narrator in the day of the doctor. Im going to stop now or my head will explode :).
simon
January 7th, 2014 - 7:30pmis he going to have his own costume or stay on the costume that looks like the 11th Doctor?
DOCTOR WHO DOUGH
January 7th, 2014 - 7:32pmThe New outfit will be announced half way through filming the whole series or after
Anonymous
January 7th, 2014 - 7:42pmI doupt filming these first six will be bound to be filmed out side so it will be revealed soon
Dalek the Supreme
January 7th, 2014 - 7:53pmUndoubtedly he will have a new costume, as every Doctor before has assembled a new costume to separate himself from his previous incarnations. The only possibility indicating this is that Matt Smith’s final costume retained nothing from the original, except MAYBE for the boots, and even that is a pretty hollow argument, as Tom Baker, Sylvester McCoy, and Paul McGann had completely new costumes by their regeneration stories.
McGann is the Doctor
January 7th, 2014 - 10:47pmwhat are you talking about Dalek supreme? Matt’s final costume was the same overall silhouette and you have the trousers the bowtie the suspenders, the boots
so what if they were new variations, Tom Baker had a different scarf in his last series, and Matt Smith already had an updated bowtie, jacket, shirt, boots, trousers for his 2011 series ❗
Dalek the Supreme
January 8th, 2014 - 11:10pmI noticed Matt Smith’s trousers in The Impossible Astronaut looked like blue jeans while watching the commentary for the episode, while in Series 5 his trousers were clearly black, and I mentioned how the boots were possibly the same. Also, if you notice, he wears a greyish blue bow tie in Series 7B, but a burgundy red or a dark blue one in Series 5. Also, he switched the suspenders for a vest in Series 7B
I did also mention how the idea that he may wear Matt Smith’s costume since it’s completely different from the first is a far-fetched argument a best, and even mentioned how Tom Baker as well as Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann had completely different costumes in their respective regeneration stories.
