Jenna-Louise Coleman has been officially confirmed as the new companion to take over from Karen Gillan when she leaves the show sometime during series Seven.
From The BBC…
Her first episode will be the Xmas special.
There will be 6 episodes this year, including the Xmas Special. Then 8 next year. Jenna’s character will first be seen at Xmas.
Steven Moffat “Amy & Rory will leave in a final encounter with the Weeping Angels in ep 5. Not everyone gets out alive and I mean it this time
The Daleks will be returning in the autumn series (Doctor Who Magazine)
Jenna-Louise was born in Blackpool and played Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale. She has been nominated for numerous awards in recent years including “Best Newcomer” “Best Actress” “Sexiest Female” and “Best Dramatic Performance”.
Her most recent appearance will be as Annie Desmond in Julian Fellowes four part mini-series Titanic.
McGann is the Doctor.
March 26th, 2012 - 8:55am(since no-one is talking about the next companion, ) I think the Tetraps would make an excellent monster/character to use in the series , they could be done WAY better than Time and the Rani (“The mistress will be over…………joyed.” Don’t count on it, she’s the Rani, crazy talking animal 😆 )
Their voices were great monster-voices, although the dialogue they got, wasn’t quite so great in that story. ❗ And they can see in all directions, what a great character to use ! 😀

March 23rd, 2012 - 7:50pmno, they have been in every series since series 5. its anoying! i was ok with series 5 and series 6, but series 7 aswell! i would be fine with them in series 7 if they were not in series 6 then they would have a break!

Bow tie of Doom
March 23rd, 2012 - 10:01pmI thought The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone was ok but the Angels lost their touch a bit (no pun intended!). Matt, Karen and Alex saved the show though.
I’m looking forward to their appearance in Series 7! Can’t wait to see what happens!
the astronaut of death
March 24th, 2012 - 12:16pmi know they have been in series 6 but there appernce was very breif
The Time Lord of Cheshire
March 26th, 2012 - 11:52pmI do think that The Angels SHOULDN’T be seen, but The Daleks should, but not the new Teletubbies Daleks, I mean the OLD SCHOOL Daleks, they’re my favourite

March 23rd, 2012 - 7:26amAre Amy and Rory gonna get killed by the Weeping Angels?

March 23rd, 2012 - 8:08amwe dont know yet
ExtremeFlashFilms
March 24th, 2012 - 10:15amI think they will to be honest. Who else would die. In a way I want them to die so it isn’t all happy ending, and we know they are leaving anyway, however they are great actors and characters, so I don’t want them to die there. I still think people who die gives a lot more atmosphere to a show.
the astronaut of death
March 24th, 2012 - 7:14pmyou never no there could be someone else there who cold die
IronsideDalek
March 23rd, 2012 - 1:04amI’m sad that Amy and Rory are gonna die. It is good to see them leave, as everyone has in the past, but them dying is gonna be sad. The Weeping Angels’ return is something I knew they were gonna do. As for the Daleks, I am praying that Moffat does something good with them. As good as Victory of the Daleks was, it could have been a lot better. All hail the new Daleks!

March 23rd, 2012 - 3:45amWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Daleks. Hopefully they will acually exterminate people. They’re just not scary enough without doing so.

March 22nd, 2012 - 10:09pmWhy does everyone hate series 6 for it was great
IronsideDalek
March 23rd, 2012 - 12:55amAside from the lack of villains with possible returns, aside from the Silence and Kovarian.

March 23rd, 2012 - 1:51amI liked series 6… probably not as much (overall) as series 5, but I still liked it.
“The Doctor’s Wife” I think now is my all-time favourite episode, and I loved “The Almost People” too. (How could you not love a Ganger Doctor?) XD
matt smithy
March 23rd, 2012 - 6:27amsame. I think the reason people didn’t lke series 6 was because they didn’t like the scilence plot line and say the series was bad rather than that. The only episodes i didn’t like were lets kill hitler, curse of the black spot and some of the rebel flesh but hay, every series has its bad episodes. the overall series was exellent with some clever episodes such as the opening 2 parts, the doctors wife, and night terrors. blimey this is a long comment!
Silence
March 23rd, 2012 - 8:16amI enjoyed it! I loved when all us Silents killed EVERYBODY! But when everybody killed us, probably not AS good! We made an AWESOME return and it turned out we were in this sort of different dimension thingy! WHY MUST WE LOSE!

March 24th, 2012 - 8:34amI hated series 6! The storylines were way to complicated! I couldn’t get my head around them!
And also, though you might think differently, I HATE AMY AND RORY EVEN MORE THAN THE TERRIBLE STORYLINES! I really hope these new episodes are much better than last series… I’m slowly getting pulled away from Doctor Who…
GreenAnchorRedWaterfall
April 7th, 2012 - 8:00amSeries 6 was the best Steven Moffat EVER. It was amazing! Fantastic! Especially The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon and AGMGTW and also TDW. Series 6 Part 2 though all the episodes were amazing!
Give me a Dalek any day
April 7th, 2012 - 7:58pmI agree. Although, it was Matt Smith who really stood out during Series 6!
Matt
March 22nd, 2012 - 10:00pmCan’t wait for her to start 😀

March 22nd, 2012 - 7:39pmand the story gos on.
did the doctor really marry river??
when is the doctor finally turn into the valeyard??
where are the daleks???
what was in the doctors room????
DOCTOR WHO!!???
The Eternal Dalek
March 22nd, 2012 - 8:57pmOf course the Doctor married River. He had parental consent from Amy and Rory, but it is not legally documented. The Doctor will not “manifest” into the Valeyard. The Valeyard is a part of the Doctor that manifests itself into a separate form. It is unknown if/when the Valeyard will make an appearance. The Daleks are in the space/time continuum – although an exact trace cannot be matched. They will return in Series 7 (my money’s on Episode 4). We do not know what was in the Doctor’s room – nobody does apart from Toby Whithouse and Steven Moffat, given they have spoken of it.
The Silence
March 23rd, 2012 - 6:23pmThe Doctor probably saw himself in his room.

March 31st, 2012 - 10:58amOk, not really that true. Lol. But, sometimes there are some crazy theories flying around.
GreenAnchorRedWaterfall
April 7th, 2012 - 8:02amThe Doctor probably saw himself in his TARDIS, hence the peculiar sounds and the “DO NOT DISTURB” sign.

March 22nd, 2012 - 7:04pmI will miss amy and rory i dont really agree with killing them off but i think it shows viewers that being friends with the doctor isn’t just fun and games also a lot of running because sooner or later there going to catch up with u esspecially if angels are involved!:)
Dalek of Doom
March 22nd, 2012 - 6:38pmJenna starts filming this May! In S7 E5 I recokon Amy will die and Rory tries to kill the Doctor in a fury of anger!
Bow tie of Doom
March 22nd, 2012 - 6:16pmI think Amy and Rory are great companions but to be honest I am genuinely prepared to see them die! I never really thought I’d say that!!
We’ll have to see what tricks Mr Moffat has up his sleeve this time. 🙂
the astronaut of death
March 22nd, 2012 - 3:42pmshe is going to have to do a lot of work to become as good as karen gillan
Andrew Hall
March 22nd, 2012 - 4:42pmBit extreme. Karens been ok but wouldnt say shes been any better than Catherine Tate or Freema. Shes left me cold and come across in several episodes as downright annoying. The new girl will be fine, really loooking forward to the change.
Dalek Sec
March 23rd, 2012 - 3:51amI liked Amy on Serie 5, but then on Series 6 she because this grouchy person who does nothing but follow the Doctor around. Rory was awesome, and River is my favourite companion, shes just so badass. I hope she comes back.
As for the new companion, i look forward to watching her and the Doctor interact.

March 22nd, 2012 - 4:57pmIt’s an alright idea, but surely if the doctor where to take take Amy back in time to be with Rory then wouldnt he not just take them both back to the present day ?
And the Moffat has said there will definetly be a death.

March 22nd, 2012 - 7:30amIt sad that Rory & Amy are leaving. Does not have to be more 1 companion for Doctor have his time travel. But I should say the new companion is goddess & Beautiful. I might like her.

March 22nd, 2012 - 8:27amseries6 was ….i hate it
Rooners
March 22nd, 2012 - 10:52amThe “Marmite” series – series 6 will split fans down the middle for decades. Personally, I thought it was one of the most imaginative series in DW history and not just drew on the wealth of DW mythology but actually added to it in a signficant way. I loved the dark elements and the more mature story lines. It did hurt my brain a little though so I am more than happy for series 7 to be 14 seperate adventures without a major arc….but Series 6 was, for me, a rollacoster ride – loved it!
Matt
March 22nd, 2012 - 10:03pmI’m on the hate side of the marmite line – I thought it was awful. There were onyl a couple of good episodes (IMO – Night Terrors and God Complex) and the story arc was too complicated haha! :S

March 23rd, 2012 - 5:22pmMarmite series? I thought It was ok (bad first part series but good second part series).

March 21st, 2012 - 9:27pmThis has been a great day to be a Doctor Who fan!! I liked series 5, hated 6, and was getting a bit bored of Amy and Rory. I love the look of the new companion, made up the daleks are back (I hope they open 7) and quite like the schedule, the build up will be great. Plus next year will be soooo good, soo much boss dr who 🙂

March 21st, 2012 - 8:46pmif she got a part in titanic she must be a good actress
TARDISTIK
March 21st, 2012 - 8:42pmI know they were Moffat’s creation and Blink possibly the story that made his name but maybe the Angels should have just stopped in Wester Drumlins. Its not that I don’t think they’re a good monster its just that I think they’ve been a bit overused and its said that Amy and Rory’s last story will be with them.
Sorry Moffat…
Bowtie Bob
March 21st, 2012 - 9:08pmi agree he ruined them in The time of angels and flesh and stone. the empty child was great because he left it at one story.
Dalek Sec
March 22nd, 2012 - 3:18amI acually disagree, yes if they were brought back they would be overused. But those were good episodes, and to new fans, these monsters are as iconic as the Cyberman, Yeti, or Daleks are they used to be. Also the crack closed so the Angels had nothing to defeat them. A mirror perhaps? Anyway if he shows them again, show the Angels that were in the timeline where there was no crack. I think Moffat ruined River abit through.
dalek99
March 22nd, 2012 - 6:40amI totally agree with Tardistik. Hopefully this will be the last time we see them. I think they are really clever monsters but i do also think that have been overused
I Love Cybermen
March 22nd, 2012 - 10:42amAs far as I’m concerned the angel 2-parter in series 5 was amazing. In reality the angels have only appeared in Blink, a two-parter and in a tiny cameo in The God Complex. If you think how many times true greats like the cybermen and daleks have appeared, this is a tiny amount indeed next to them! They’re great monsters and i hope they keep coming back…

RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
March 21st, 2012 - 8:12pmSo let me get this straight, there are only going to be 6 episodes this year???!! that sucks! In my Doctor who stories, I was going to leave b being touched by an angel too.
