The Bells of Saint John: A Prequel +TV Trailer
The Bells of Saint John: A Prequel
From The Official Site
Doctor Who returns to BBC One on Easter Saturday at 6.15pm with The Bells of Saint John, but you can watch a prequel to the new episode this Saturday.
The brand new prequel is written by Steven Moffat and features the Doctor, played, of course, by Matt Smith. We join the Time Lord on Earth where heβs taking a break from his quest to find Clara.
Still Not Ginger!!
March 24th, 2013 - 9:52pmbooboo,this is probobley not true, but could Clara be hypnotising the doctor in some way? she could be working for the silence, beacuse he gave the TARDIS key to her as soon as she walked in to the TARDIS.So could she be hypnotising him?
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 25th, 2013 - 8:02amDon’t forget, that Victorian version of Clara dropped the Tardis key when she was being dragged out by that Ice Governess.
What I don’t get is, what makes you think she could be working for the Silence, cos saying the Doctor gave her the Tardis key shortly after she came inside the Tardis in this case means nothing, the Doctor just gave in cos he wanted someone new once more cos he loves having people to share the fun of his adventures with, there’s no hypnosis involved.
Still Not Ginger!!
March 25th, 2013 - 8:20amyes,im probobly wrong, but she could be working for them and the silence sends out different versions of her to try and trap or kill the doctor so he never reaches trenzalore.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 25th, 2013 - 8:34amWell when you think about it, when she says –
“Run you cleaver boy, and remember”.
She maybe suggesting that he should still be on the run from the Silence, but create something like that eye patch device so that he can remember them.
Just got to wait and see, cos right now, we’re both just guessing.
The Flying Shark
March 24th, 2013 - 7:57pmI saw both the prequel and the trailer today at Vworp Writer Con in Manchester. They were both epic!
im not here
March 24th, 2013 - 7:34pmdoctor who lost thier award on the kids choice awards to house of anubis *shakes fist*
Scott the Raptor
March 24th, 2013 - 7:45pmNothing to care about really. Just a little kids show. Nothing too important.
outnumbered
March 25th, 2013 - 4:20pmif doctor who had good story lines and wasnt to confusing then maybe it would have won
im not here
March 27th, 2013 - 6:00pmDoctor who does have good story lines
Whovian1
March 31st, 2013 - 9:59amThe first part if series 7 was a major disappointment, Steven Moffat is just getting carried away at times
drjakeyoung
March 24th, 2013 - 4:44pmnoticed at the end of the theme at the beginning of the prequel there is a new piece of dr who theme music. I wonder if this is a sign that we will get to here the full theme music?
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 5:22pmSounds a bit like a combination of the 2010 and 2012 versions to me.
ILOVEMYCLASSICSERIES
March 25th, 2013 - 6:00pmThe fanfare has been toned down and the baseline-the “dum-de-dums” has been made louder and more clear(like the CLASSICS)and there’s an extra wind sound fx.
dr who no.1 fan
March 24th, 2013 - 11:45amI think this episode is a bit like series 4 episode 1 streets and other stuff cant wait love dr who!
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 4:08pmPartners in Crime.
Yeah, it is similar looking to that episode I agree with you there.
sunny
March 24th, 2013 - 8:40amDonna WAS funny!
sunny
March 24th, 2013 - 8:39amI love Clara but I can not see this brand new prequel.I don’t know why?
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 9:17amIf you live outside the UK, it maybe that the video has been restricted in your country.
Typical I know, but it happens with most videos, thou it is odd that sometimes in the past, Ive watched videos have been restricted by the BBC for something like “This video has been restricted in your Country”, and yet I live in Great Britain where Doctor Who and the BBC both come from, it just makes no sense at all what so ever !!!!.
sunny
March 24th, 2013 - 9:45amO…yeah I don’t live in UK.Thanks.I wish I could see the video cause I love the doctor and Clara.:(
Sebatron
March 24th, 2013 - 10:12amlook on youtube and you might also find the full trailer for the episode like I did!

March 26th, 2013 - 8:21amOK,thanks!
John Smith
March 24th, 2013 - 7:39amWas not expecting that!
Dalek The Supreme
March 23rd, 2013 - 10:11pmI just new that was Clara! Also, I’m happy to see Matt Smith’s not getting rid of the tweed just yet, I think it suits his Doctor well. Can’t wait til the episode, even though it might not be all that good…
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 8:16amSadly, I think the return of the Tweed was just a one off for this video.
Dalek The Supreme
March 24th, 2013 - 6:17pmPossibly, though I doubt they would bring it back in a prequel just to have it mysteriously gone again when the episode arrives.
Scared
March 23rd, 2013 - 8:29pmDr who rules. I’ve seen it since the 4th series
Doctor Stu
March 23rd, 2013 - 9:07pmThe official 4th series or Donna Noble fourth series
Boodleoo
March 23rd, 2013 - 9:39pmI’m guessing Donna 4th series
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 8:20amSame thing.
Scott the Raptor
March 24th, 2013 - 8:29amNo it’s not the same thing.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 9:19amIt is if ‘Official 4th Series’ is referring to Doctor Who – Series 4 and ‘Donna Noble 4th Series’ is the same thing as Donna was the companion to the 10th Doctor throughout series 4.
joe
March 24th, 2013 - 10:16am“official 4th series” is probably reffering to the classic 4th series.
Scott the Raptor
March 24th, 2013 - 10:47amIt’s not the same thing.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 4:09pmIt IS !!!!!!!!!!!. Man are you stubborn. If it is not the same thing, then please, do explain to me and everyone else on this site how it is not the same thing !!!!!!!!!.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 4:11pm2nd thought, forget it, I don’t care, just gonna ignore you Scott. Please don’t waste your time replying to this comment, and if Boo Boo deletes these few comments then I don’t care, he deletes comments all the time.
drjakeyoung
March 24th, 2013 - 4:42pmeveryone from now on just refer to the classic series 4 as SEASON 4 and the 2008 series as SERIES 4!
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 5:25pmDr Jake Young – Agreed π
Tell you the truth Jake, I don’t think a lot of us fan’s ever really refer to a classic series story buy a paticular season, we just tend to say ‘classic series story’.
It’s also a bit confusing too cos American’s say season rather then series like we do.
drjakeyoung
March 24th, 2013 - 5:41pmlol, maybe if the BBC cleared this up then we would all know how to refer to it π
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 7:16pmWell Doctor Who Magazine tend to refer to a classic series of Doctor Who as, for example –
Doctor Who – Season 10, 1973.
While they just refer to new series as –
Doctor Who – Series 7, 2012-2013.
Course, if I’m talking about a classic series story to any fan, or making a reference to one, I’d just say something like ‘1975’s Geneis of the Daleks’ instead of mentioning what season a particular classic story comes from.
I guess to a lot of us fan’s, we don’t generally use the words season or series, we just really refer to a story by it’s title.
Awsome doctor
March 23rd, 2013 - 7:06pmThis looks great. Though I wasn’t surprised that the girl on the swing was Clara. But, this episode looks great just from this little clip. I’m really exited. Does the episode come out the 23ed? I’m American, it may be a different day.
Matt Smithy
March 23rd, 2013 - 6:00pmBooboo the TV trailer for this episode is out on the BBC youtube channel!
The Flying Shark
March 23rd, 2013 - 4:31pmThat was good, also, SPOILER ALERT!
SPOILERS!
SPOILERS!

SPOILERS!
I heard that there are seven prequels, and each one shows Clara grwoing up.

DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 23rd, 2013 - 4:20pmTHAT GIRL IS CLARA ????.
He must have gone back to the 1990’s, cos Jenna is currently 26, so if Clara is 26, then she’d have therefore grown up in the 90’s.
Guess seeing a child version of Clara is a deliberate nod to Amy when we first met her as a child too . . . . . but a nice little nod thou π
This is gallifrey, our childhood, our home
March 23rd, 2013 - 6:48pmIt’s a bad nod, Moffat just blaring out the same old tunes again.
Tardis’nt
March 23rd, 2013 - 7:00pmshe might not be from present day though
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 24th, 2013 - 8:21amTardis’nt – What makes you think that ?.

March 24th, 2013 - 10:14amShe could be from the near future like 2020.
Tardis’nt
March 24th, 2013 - 11:11amhe might not go to 2013, like sebatron said, it could be 2020, or like what he did with amy and rory, about 2or3 years from now
daleksean
March 23rd, 2013 - 2:00pmpoor doctor he is still thinking of amy π
McGann is the Doctor.
March 23rd, 2013 - 2:23pmPretty sure her name is Clara π
Doctor Stu
March 23rd, 2013 - 4:17pmYeh he was talking about Clara because he says he was trying to find her am that he has met her twice randomly

March 24th, 2013 - 8:13pmjust watched it again you are right he was talking about clara oops but i bet he still misses amy and rory π
The TARDIS
March 23rd, 2013 - 1:15pmWhy has he gone back to this jacket? I thought he was wearing the new suit from Christmas on!
McGann is the Doctor.
March 23rd, 2013 - 2:25pmGuess not.
That new outfit is great, but a little too heavy and fancy, drawing too much attention to the Doctor.
The tweed is more inconspicuous and casual, I guess.
Tardis’nt
March 23rd, 2013 - 2:34pmhe doesn’t wear the christmas one, he wears this one
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/galleries/p016fx3q
Tardis’nt
March 23rd, 2013 - 2:35pmhe no longer wears the christmas one, he has a grey one instead
Sam Bentley
March 23rd, 2013 - 9:49pmI think this was filmed before the costume change was official? Like how in the Comic Relief ‘One Born Every Minute/Call the Midwife/Miranda/Doctor Who’ crossover he was wearing his series 6-7a costume. I just think this and that were filmed BEFORE they changed the costume.
The TARDIS
March 24th, 2013 - 11:42amNo, I know he’s wearing the new plumish suit but I thought that was the official costume
Doctor Stu
March 23rd, 2013 - 12:43pmThis has just got a lot more confusing. It would be so cool if Clara and her ancestors were also searching the universe for the Doctor and it all stemed from young Clara meeting the Doctor in the playground.
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
March 23rd, 2013 - 12:25pmi knew that was gonna happen. either she was clara or clara would come and sit on the swing when the girl left.
MORLU
March 23rd, 2013 - 12:37pmIt was obvious and would have been fine. If we haven’t already met Amy at that age. I hope there not going to retred old ground too much.
Matt Smithy
March 23rd, 2013 - 3:20pmI’m pretty sure she is only a child for this prequel, not the episode π
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
March 23rd, 2013 - 3:39pmme too, they have to do things differently, this is why i hope Clara won’t be another River
matt9982
March 23rd, 2013 - 12:24pmI think this looks great! Really weird how he ends up talking to young Clara. However seems a bit like what happend with young Amy (Amelia) π

DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 22nd, 2013 - 7:47pmSaw it. Not much time given for Doctor Who, the best thing the BBC ever produced in that old building.
Felt abit annoyed seeing Micheal Grade on the One Show, seeing as his hated by every Doctor Who fan who knows of his hatred for Doctor Who back in the good old days, and as the man who cancelled it in 1989 if I know my Doctor Who history correctly.
EX-TER-MIN-ATE MICH-EAL GR-ADE !!!! π
drjakeyoung
March 22nd, 2013 - 10:05pmlol, i thought it was funny when Chris Evans wore Colin’s coat in front of Micheal Grade!
DoctorWhom
March 23rd, 2013 - 9:34amDoctor Who One, Grade didn’t cancel Who in 89. He was with Channel Four by that time. Jonathan Powell the man who took over from Grade actually cancelled it. Grade only suspended it back in 86.
McGann is the Doctor.
March 23rd, 2013 - 2:27pmStill disgustingly selfish, hateful and inconsiderate of Grade. He hated the show and damaged it’s reputation when it was still loved by a great number of people and still in good health, then the public came to hate it and it lost a great deal of viewers and respect π
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 23rd, 2013 - 4:27pmDoctor Whom – I had a feeling I was a bit wrong. Should have checked before I wrote that comment.

March 22nd, 2013 - 6:35pmi hope he leaves. i liked his doctor in ‘the eleventh hour’, and then when ‘the beast below’ was broadcast – i hated him! i’ve disliked the 11th Doctor ever since. he’s too child like.
Dalek The Supreme
March 22nd, 2013 - 6:40pmI hope he stays. I liked him almost immediately in The End of Time Part 2, and after The Big Bang, he had become my favorite incarnation of the Doctor.
ForeverDalek2313
March 22nd, 2013 - 11:25pmI would say that from the eleventh hour to the Angles take manhatten that the doctor did not really mix with me. But seeing him in a new suit I am starting to like him as much as tennant.
McGann is the Doctor.
March 23rd, 2013 - 2:29pmLiked him in the End of Time part 2, sometimes liked him in Eleventh Hour, hated him from then until Flesh and stone, hated him from then until Doctor Who Live and by the time he came tumbling down that chimney in a Christmas Charol I loved him and he was one of my favourite Doctors from there on.
Hope he stays atleast until 2015, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…..

March 22nd, 2013 - 11:15amwell in an interview with matt smith
matt smith said moffat pitched series 8 to him
do he will probably be in series 8
DOCTOR WHO ONE
March 22nd, 2013 - 3:28pmWell don’t worry, I’m not believing a word of it until some reliable source, like the official BBC Doctor Who website for example, says so.
After all, the Sun don’t always get their facts straight.
Take 2008 for example, they said that in series 4, Harriot Jones would turn out to be a Dalek Agent who get’s rewarded for her loyalty to the Daleks by being mutated into one of them. Not true as it turned out, so what muppet at Sun HQ got that idea in their thick skull is probably still kicking themselves for being wrong.
