Doctor Who – The Snowmen – 5.15pm Christmas Day

The Snowmen Christmas Day at 5.15pm

From the Radio Times

Doctor Who’s festive special will air on Christmas Day at 5.15pm on BBC1 in an hour-long slot, the BBC has confirmed.

The episode, entitled The Snowmen and written by Steven Moffat, will see Matt Smith’s Doctor teaming up with governess Clara (played by Jenna-Louise Coleman) for an adventure that takes place on Christmas Eve, 1892. Guest performers for the 60-minute instalment include Richard E Grant and Tom Ward.

“Christmas Eve 1892, and the falling snow is the stuff of fairytales.

When the fairytale becomes a nightmare and a chilling menace threatens Earth, an unorthodox young governess, Clara, calls on the Doctor for help. But the Doctor is in mourning, reclusive and determined not to engage in the problems of the universe. As old friends return, will the Doctor really abandon humankind or will he fight to save the world – and Christmas – from the icy clutches of this mysterious menace?”

Many episodes after 2005 have aired before 7pm. The earliest it had aired before this was 6pm. 🙂

5:15pm ? isn’t this the first time since the shows revival in 2005 to have an episode before the usual 7:00pm time slot ?.
